the cast were ok but i think the movie had many cut scenes again. like what they did in twilight. and isn’t jane from the volturi had a black hair? Why didn’t dakota fanning dye her hair?

as someone who’s 35 and has read the books 4 times and saw the Twilight movie I can’t really recall the # by now, I found this particular trailer that combines all that has been seen by now the best teaser for the movie. I’ve read all of the comments posted and find some of them quite humorous.
As stated before, movies based on a written book/saga, are adaptations of what was read. For example, if the movie Twilight was “the movie version” of the book, you would know that there was a lot that had been taken out or added to the movie to stretch out a scene or combine the essential parts of the book caught in a short period of time based on cost/budget.

In all, I think every individual from the writer to the actual director and screenplay writter have different points of view of the story. Keep in mind, though, Stephenie Meyer has been present in the production of these movies. So if the movie itself gets way off base with her book, then of course as an artist protecting her “baby”, she would say something about it.

My only beef, if any, is that the eye contact color change for a “starving Cullen vampire” got missed in this take of the Saga. I would think if Katherine got that right as the movie to start out all 4 movies, that they would have stuck with it for consistancy.

yeah 35 might be a bit much for getting this caught up, but I like vampire movies. In general the Vampire stories are always about a forbidden romance with the dark side tied in deep into what may or may not be in the end. I think both the movie and the books play that role well. Especially from a teenage life/first true love point of view. Just keepin it real.

The books are amazing and the movies can hold their own as well. I have always found it better to read the book before watching the movies, however the twilight movies keep to the book’s storyline. Edward Rules!!!!!!

The book was intended for teenagers and became so much more then I think anyone expected. The acting abilities of the characters that everyone keeps gripping about i think forget that its out of the eyes of a teenager. I think that they play the age of the characters pretty much on. Kristen plays a teenage girl pretty much how a teenage girl would. I think all the adults complaining are comparing them to adult characters which are the roles they are not playing. Think back to your teenage days. (I know you werent like that.)
Just a food for thought.

@Marie- Well, I don’t know about the “TwilightSaga”, but I am basis my opinion solely on the movie and it was just plain horrible! Bad acting, poor character development and ridiculous story-line pretty much sums it up for me. Maybe the book is better, but the movie is so bad that I have no desire to read the book.

If you can so offended by a contrary opinion, maybe you might want to stay off forums, esp. if you want to group everyone together. I love a good debate but, dang, don’t take it so personal.

Tweeb,Kofi said some pretty nice things about the trailer.
And more then a few Twilight fans that have posted here have had some nasty things to say about The Harry Potter films and the people who like those movies.
So, The acerbic nature of the commentary tends to work both ways .

If you “have to read the book” to understand the movie then the movie is seriously lacking in its ability to tell a story.

A movie should be judged on its own, separate from any book it might be based on. This isn’t a “book news” site, it’s a movie news site.

This is a movie forum. The subject of the matter is the movie. No matter what the book is, the movie is completely different and can get rid of the plot in the book all together.

It’s becoming tiresome listening to you Twilight fans talk about how good the book was when defending A MOVIE that’s only BASED on the book.

The Shark Diving thing only referred to girls putting themselves in danger to get attention. Shark Daving = Danger. Get it?

It doesn’t matter what the books said, the trailer and most likely the movie make it seem like she’s getting his attention by doing stupid/dangerous things. We’re talking about real teenage girls here.

Yes I don’t like Twilight. I liked the first 15 minutes of the movie and then it turned into one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. No I don’t BLINDLY hate all things twilight. Just some of the arguments you bring up are out there. You can defend the sparkling thing all you want but doesn’t change the fact that it was one of the most nonsensical things written.
