So it looks like the marketing machine is finally getting in gear for The Incredible Hulk. We’ve got an new poster and a new trailer for the film which shows more action than we’ve seen before.
I’m hoping that this Hulk film ends up surprising everyone and exceeding expectations. I’d love to see a kick-butt Incredible Hulk movie as a follow up to the previous, much slower moving version.
Check out both the new trailer and the poster below.

Sorry about the quality of the trailer but there’s not a better copy out there yet.
The Incredible Hulk opens on June13.

It won’t be a big success for sure, but I know I’ll be seeing it opening day.
This does not look good.
that’s the word going around, that because no trailers have been seen of the hulk as of yet, that means that marvel knows it will stink. but think about it…what kind of a movie can you make for a guy who has no weakness and is the most powerful comic book hero ever? where can the story line go? what plot can you have? i didn’t really like the superman movie with brandon routh, but at least supes had a storyline. and he had a storyline becaue he has a weakness (kryptonite). they use it everytime in superman flicks. i think that in order for the hulk to have a serious hit, it is going to require a heck of alot more special effects, otherwise the unstoppable hulk will be fighting regular guys trying to destroy him with guns, and frankly i’m tired of seeing movies where the superhero (who has powers), is fighting against regular men whose only weapon are guns. GUNS NO HURT HULK! HULK SMASH YOU! RAAAAAAAAH!!!!
Quicksilver:
You say there have been no trailers for this film….this is the third trailer.
You say the Hulk has no weaknesses….but I suppose turning into a 100 pound human is not a weakness.
Finally…you say you are tired of superhero’s fighting ordinary men with guns. Well, putting aside the fact he’s one guy fighting the freakin MILITARY…the Hulk happens to be fighting another superhuman creature called the Abomination.
Sheesh…did you actually WATCH the trailer?
We all know that Ang Lee’s version was bland, but I wish they could have used the same CGI that Lee used; I just don’t like the look of this hulk version (maybe it’s the veins, I don’t know).
As people have said (and will continue to say)…it is very difficult to make a 9 ft, super-muscled neanderthal with green skin and huge hands and feet “real.” No matter how well they do the shaders and animation…the human mind is wired to detect imperfection in the human form. When you change the general design that much….. well, it’s tough.
Just Google some shots of the super-massive bodybuilders and see what I mean. They have the same veins, super tight and oily skin, etc….It’s almost as if THEY don’t look real.
Jimmy: You’re not being a dick at all, but I’m a HUGE Marvel fanboy and know a few things about ‘alot’ of comic characters and there worlds! I could talk about comics characters and their universe for hours/days just because I love them.
Anyways, The statements I’ve suggested about Hulk’s film being as successfully as IM maybe be wrong, but I’m standing by this one because I have a feeling it alot better than the trailer shows and it’s Hulk. Guess we will see June 16(Totally weekend numbers).:)
Hey guys, regarding the “you can’t make the Hulk look real” discussion, check out my latest post:

hey guys there’s aslo 3 tv spots for the incredible hulk here’s the link http://movies.ign.com/dor/objects/569136/the-incredible-hulk/videos/hulk_THEGOOD_UPHN_3021.html
I think the hulk looks great..savage enough to be mean looking and at the same time there is humanity in the eyes….he’s going to make good box office but maybe as well as the first X-Men movie with an opening weekend of 50-65 million and probably 160-175 million in total..Whether that’s enough for a sequel to this movie will depend on overseas box office and how much Marvel makes from merchandising associated with this movie. I personally don’t think we will see another Hulk movie unless this movie does 500 million in box office worldwide. We will however see him again in other Marvel produced movies like Maybe Iron Man, Captain America, and definitely the Avengers Movie.
I saw the fan recreation of the Hulk and he looks like an evil troll doll on steroids!Evil grimace of death too!! What’s with the trapezius muscles like the Pyramids!! Not as much vasculature ripping through the muscles and that looks better. Lets face it not everybody will ever agree with how the big green guy should look and this is Marvel’s baby so I have faith that this movie will be awesome..They didn’t let us down with Iron Man so I think they will nail it with this version of the Hulk. He will seem more human to us and with the angle of him saving the world from the Abomination…he will not be seen as he was in the first movie…mindless, savage and creepy (stalking Betty I mean)
hey, backlash, first, there hasn’t been any trailers for the hulk that have appeared on TV. i wasn’t referring to the internet. heck i have seen all of the hulk trailers on the internet, but not on the good ol’ television at home. second, it’s good that he is fighting the abomination, but it gets bland knowing that most of the film is based on him fighting the army. i know, i know, i know, that when bruce banner became the hulk the entire army was after him, but my worry is that when they make other hulk movies they, in order to same millions on special effects, are going to base the majority of those movies on the hulk fighting the military, which in fact, backlash, are men with guns. BORRRRRRING!
ever since ang lee messed up the first hulk movie with a atoryline that made absolutely no sense, a vast majority of hulk fans (of course myself included)will go and see this movie. and yes the movie will do well at the box and probably be #1 for the first 3 weeks because of it appeal, thanks to (and i say it again), ang lee botching up the first hulk movie. between ol’ greenskin and webhead, i don’t know who is my favorite. it’s something i have been trying to figure out since childhood. I do, prefer this hulk over the ang lee’s hulk. this hulk looks meaner, yet, like greenknight said he has some humanity in his eyes. I hope this hulk movie is hot. HULK SMASH YOU!!!!
Quicksilver,
You didn’t write “tv trailers” in your original post…you wrote “trailers.” TV trailers rarely come out more than a couple weeks before a movie is released.
The army has been a major plot point in the entire history of the Hulk storyline…so trying to do away with it would be ridiculous. Besides…who’s going to go after him….the boy scouts?
Almost all superheros have “big brother” chasing them…some large force of bad guys. Neo had the agents and their supporting cast of cops…Indiana Jones had the Nazis…heck even Iron Man had the army after him!
Batman? Yep! The cops chase after him as well in “Batman Begins.” V for Vendetta? Yep, the cops and the powers that be.
ALL action heros have someone chasing after them at some point or another…because the truth is their such bad mofo’s one on one that you either need a) a single individual who can stand up to them or b) a whole lot of normal folks after them.
So if a lot of guys coming after the action hero is boring…..name me an action flick that’s not BOOORRRRNING.
(Hand up).
Question: why is Hulk Bullet Proof?
Yeah sure he’s big and strong but you take a 50cal armor piercing round, shoot him directly in the forehead and he’s dead. (Not only that, the bullets going to hardly slow down upon exiting)
I realise Hulk isn’t based on a real guy but what’s the explanation for this???
Does anyone know what’s coming out the same weekend as Hulk?
I would be surprised if it was No.1 for 3 weeks
hey, backlash, point is with this movie, because ang lee messed up the first one, they have to reintroduce the hulk in this one. i have no problem with that. by your diatribe i would suspect that you really want this movie to be explosive at the box office. so do i. but in a previous blog of mine i did mention that i was more concerned about future hulk projects being watered down because the studio execs want to save millions. as for batman, batman had no powers and continues to this day to have no powers at all. therefore, let the cops, who have no powers chase him who has no powers. my argument was having a hero who has powers, fight some bad guy or guys who have no powers, but only have guns. that is therefore BORRRRRING, which in fact it is.
to answer your question about one flick that wasn’t BORRRRRING, how about spiderman. spidey 1, and 2 were hot, which is why we are getting spidey # 4. why? because he fought the greengoblin (who has superhuman strength, and unsual weapory such as his pumpkin bombs). and then there was doc ock, who, because of his metallic tentacles, was able to hold off spiderman at every end, but no only by shear power but also by wits as well.
but now look at this. many people complained about spidey 3 for the same reason: there were too many bad guys in flick. they could have done well with having spidey to simply fight the sandman alone. he didn’t need venom, and they introduced venom too early. they probably should have saved him for spidey 4.
however, i do prefer the semi-reverse effect of having batman (who has no powers), fight a villain with powers (say…clayface).
one more thing, backlash, you have to remember that these movies of our comic book favorites are all based on introducing or reintroducing our comic favorites, either because previous movies of our characters were ruined as was the case with the last 2 batman movies of the 90s and the hulk movie that ang lee did. also, these movies of today reintoduce our characters because it has been years upon years upon years since we last seen them, which was case with superman returns with brandon routh. christopher reeve’s last superman was in 1986 i believe. everyone was screaming for a new one, and we got one. however, i heard from a couple of people that they didn’t like the film because supes was, as they said, “fighting a rock”. that rock being the kryptonite. i sort of liked the film, but if you saw it then you know IT WAS NOT based on his biography as to how he became superman. it reintroduced supes some years later, after he fought all of the bad guys who chris reeves fought when he was playing the character. it showed us that supes has a kid from lois lane.
I saw V for vendetta. it was a good movie. but liked i said to prove my point which have helped me in doing because of your post, neither v nor her mentor had powers, just like the authorities that were after them.
one more thing. i didn’t assume that trailer bit about the hulk. i was repeating what others have said and thought in previous blogs. wasn’t my actual thought or idea. i think you better read that post again, backlash.
good to know that i finally saw a hulk trailer last night…and yes, at home on my TV. yeeee haaaaw. HULK SMASH YOU!!!
This better be a good movie cuz my fav super heroe is the hulk and the last movie blowed exept the way they did the hulk but the enamies were gay i mean come on giant dogs!!! plz so i have high hopes that this movie will be sweet and the hulk better beat abominations ass!!!
