Awesome New Images From Stallone’s ‘Expendables’

The Expendables Hi res billboard 1

Today we have a batch of new images from Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming muscle-man-packed action flick, The Expendables. For most action fans, the film had them at the casting of Jason Statham, Jet Li and Stallone – and then the cast was expanded to include the likes of Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren and Eric Roberts (even Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to make a cameo appearance) to ramp up the awesomeness even more.

Don’t worry, ladies, the XX chromosome is being represented too, in the form of Charisma Carpenter and Brittany Murphy.

What do you mean, “This is a guy’s movie”? I find that offensive and sexist…

:P

The new Expendables images come to us by way of a site called Ethelmae’s Blog, via a tip from a Joblo reader called “Jorgen.” Some of the images are behind the scenes (i.e. not straight stills) and only a couple of images show the action the film promises (funnily enough those ones don’t involve Stallone or Statham). Nonetheless, it’s awesome to see this gang of actors together. The first image in particular is pretty exciting, check them out below:

With the amount of muscle power The Expendables has, it’s no wonder it’s on most action movie fan’s most anticipated list. Not only does what we’ve seen so far promise some serious kick-ass action, but the cast that’s been brought together is insane: We have the likes of Stallone, Rourke and Lundgren for those fans of action from 20-30 years ago, and the likes of Statham and Li to appease the modern action moviegoer.

(And Thank goodness Terry Crews was also brought in to replace Curtist “50 Cent” Jackson…)

The above pics are cool (particularly the one of Rourke giving Stallone a tattoo), but the movie already has my money. I’m gonna’ be eagerly in line for The Expendables when it gets released in theaters. How about you?

What do you think about these latest pics from The Expandables, are you looking forward to the movie? Either way let us know below.

The Expendables is scheduled to hit theatres on April 23rd, 2010.

  1. It’s great to see this kind of cast together for a movie. Definitely looking forward to this one. After Rambo, Stallone is truly a great action director.

  2. Jet Li looks as badass in this as ever. Great cast, should be a great film. Wary of the PG-13 rating though.

  3. Oh wow, this comes out the day before my birthday. Hey Vic, I know of a nice birthday gift… :-)

  4. I can’t wait for this movie…a good old fashion badass action pic!!! I will be there!!!!

  5. I hope it’s good. With so many action stars though I wonder if everybody will get enough screen time to show their butt kicking skills.

  6. Looks good action wise but hope the story can at least be fathomable and decent. Dammit I WANT MY DEMOLITION MAN SEQUEL!!!!

  7. This is every action movie aficionado’s dream. Thanks Sly, for finally making a flick for all the men out there, who are sick of all the romantic comedies and chick flicks that Hollywood’s bringing out for our girlfriends and wives at the moment!

  8. Looks awesome!
2010 cannot come much sooner! The group shot is really cool.

  9. This movie is gonna destroy, comes out 3 days before my birthday, I’ve made it a hobby to watch 80′s action movies, everything Sly is in is top notch action. Stone Cold even got a blurry cameo in the final pic, sweet.

  10. anyone else noticed that the haircut and color for Mickey is the same as Whiplash on Iron Man. Both films had principal photography at the same time. And i just copied the Whiplash pic and the one from Mickey here and compared them and you can see they both have the same hair style/color.

  11. I’ll be camping to see this movie, definitly the best collection action movie heros ever!
