Here it is, the full length version of what is probably the final Iron Man trailer before the movie opens in two months.
This is the same trailer that was premiered at WonderCon and that everyone went nuts over. If you can believe it, it’s even better than the first one. So much so that people who’ve been on the fence about Iron Man have now accepted that this movie may even be a bigger one to look forward to than The Dark Knight.
Of course I’ve been telling you that for months. ![]()
Enough talk… watch the trailer below.

Truly AWESOME!!! Jon is money and DIFFINENTLY should direct the Avengers!
P.S.
Marvel will own this year. (Sorry, Bats)
Also Vic, your the man! ScreenRant player is realtime and smooth.
Wow, I think by now I’ve seen the whole movie.
Great combination of scenes. But the audio didn’t seem to fit. Are they going for the Granny demographic? Most of the other trailers had various driving music. This one had the guitar lick from the first online trailer, but without the great “I am Iron Man.” Also, the Jack Bauer style whisper outro, “Iron Man–this film is not yet rated” was oddly subdued.
For non-fans, the Monger dude looks like just another version of Iron Man. I’ve read enough here to know better, but the footage never gives a clear view of them facing off.
>>…this movie may even be a bigger one to look forward to than The Dark Knight.<
Vic, I hope Kel doesn’t know where you live.
This movie is going to be HUGE, so Huge!
I am so amped up for this. Best part was all the Mark 3 action I was drooling.
Very cool.
I’m really digging the feel of this movie. It seems to have the seriousness of Batman Begins and the comedy bits of Spider-man (which, hopefully, gives it the feel of Spider-man 2). Downey, like Bale and McGuire, seems like the character he’s portraying. I do feel as though it’s Stark I’m watching and not Downey.
Glad they fixed that end scene, with Stark shooting the tank. Seeing these version really made the poor CGI in the older one stand out. The Super Bowl version of that scene looked like it belonged in a video game and not a movie.
Like all trailers, I think this one shows too much of the movie’s plot. I wish they were more like the Casino Royale or Bourne trailers, which really revealed very little.
Still a great trailer, and hopefully a great movie.
Now THAT was a truly AWESOME trailer and I can’t wait to see this movie!!! (Although I must disagree Vic, I think the Batman movie is gonna be bigger.)
I see the final tank bit has been spruced up a lot since the last trailer!
This will be fun! Thespian talents galore, great humor, crackling action – I bet the humor and character of Stark will stand out, which is good, cos TDK is such a dark movie, even before Heath Ledger’s tragedy.
monosierra,
>>Thespian talents galore>great humor< (oh, i guess not)
Just got back from the Negative Zone(Aint it cool.com)and they LOVE IT! I have not read one comment anywhere that didn’t say this trailer was at least good if not great.
The Dark Knight will kill this movie. As anyone with any real comic book knowledge knows.. But Jon Favreau has totally (seemingly) captured the feel of Ironman. As long as he throws in the fact that Tony Stark is an alcoholic… “Thespian Talents galore”? What? Who talks like that?
Damn I have a new man crush. An Iron Man crush.
so…much…awesome
Looks pretty good, apart from the obvious CG characters at the end of the trailer. I don’t want to watch a frigging video game fight!
TDK will still rule, although IM is looking better the more we see in the trailers.
TDK is still the one to see, but if IM makes more money it’s only because it’s not a sequel (J/K)
i got to change my pants now
See, this is not fair. The trailer doesn’t show up on this stinkin government computer. I’ve tried to look for other sites but I can’t seem to bring the trailer up. I guess I’ll have to wait till I get home. DRAT!
While TDK is a major blockbuster, I believe IM may inch out on top. And like Panda said, it might be because it’s new.
“As anyone with any real comic book knowledge knows.” What is that supposed to mean? I have hundreds and hundreds of issues of IRON MAN. The treatment of the character in this movie is flawless. Can’t we forget about tired old Batman when discussing IRON MAN? The absolutely broad appeal and breath of fresh air surrounding IRON MAN will win out over yet another dreary Batman flick.
Yeah, the tone of TDK is not even close to IM (from what we’ve seen), so the comparisons are apples to oranges.
IM is more like STEEL, FF, and Transformers. Relax everyone, I’m only kidding.
TDK will be the better film tho
I do like the way IM walks away as the tank explodes in this trailer. Adds the Stark attitude to IM, even without facial expression (nicely done).
Well, I found it on IGN. Incredible! I said I was going to stop looking at IM trailers because I was already hooked and didn’t want to see snymore of the movie until it comes out but I couldn’t help myself. We finally get to see Stane and Iron Monger, and we also see problems that Stark had in designing the Mark 2 and 3. I’m sorry but I’m more pumped about this movie than TDK.
IMHO…
IM will beat out TDK, but only becasue its not the 6th movie in the franchise, and because its not been done before.
Other than those two reasons, you can’t really compare the two.
As for DC vs. Marvel, who cares? I hate politics, but that is like voting Republican, just because you are Republican, regardless of who the best candidate is. Now, I know there are DC fans, as I am one of them, and there are Marvel fans, that swear by those comics’ titles. But if it comes down to it, I’d prefer to be considered a “Hero fan” as I’ve read and collected BOTH IM, and Batman comics (as well as many, MANY others).
Now, Batman Begins was a great reboot into the batman legacy, and I think TDK will be awesome, but when it comes to dollars and cents, IM will win out, but only barely. Its got more humor, and its not as dark. But in the world “outside” of comics, Batman is better known.
Great trailer, Vic! It was worth the wait NOT to have to watch Lost. =)
for the moment I’m actually comparing IM with Batman Begins…
One of tha great things about BB was seeing Bruce try out the Batman persona, some successes and some failures (before he had the ’spelunking armor’. He didn’t just walk out the door with a bat symbol on his chest and kick a$$.
This latest trailer for IM shows us some of the same training wheels for Stark, which makes it more interesting to me and makes the character a little more real.
BB and IM are two very different movies, just sayin…
LOL,Jim!
WOW!!! THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!! I thought the Lost trailer last night was the best yet,BUT THIS ONE WAS EVEN BETTER!!!!!!!! WHOA!!!!!! WOOOT!! WOOOOT!!!!! SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!
Did you guys see that????!!!! That was soooo SWEET!!!!! Iron Monger BASHED Iron Man with that cycle!!!! And how about that scene where IM blasts back behind those jets? MAN!!!! That was THE best trailer for ANY movie I have EVER seen in my whole life!!!! Good God I can’t wait for this one!!!
Guys, IMO, THIS is gonna be the movie of the year. It’s gonna BLOW The Dark knight and Indy 4 outa the water (and I mean no offense to either of those films, they both look good and I’m looking forward to them). Dark Knight is gonna lose viewers, IMO, by having such a weird ass Joker. People, especially families with lil Batman fans, will be driven away because it looks too creepy and there hasn’t really been anything positive or inspirational seen about The Dark Knight yet. It doesn’t look like it will be a fun or very heroic movie like IM looks. And they don’t have to make a Batman movie that way to have the hardcore fans (myself included) enjoy it. It can be something that tweens and adults can watch and enjoy and fans will too as long as they respect the source material. Look at Batman: the Animated series and even the first 2 Spider-Man films. They didn’t need to go overboard creepy in order to keep fans happy, they just stayed close to the comix. From where I sit right now, even tho TDK is my second most anticipated flick this year, I think it will go the direction that Batman Returns went because they have such a weird, all most completely revisionist take on the villain, almost like Burton’s Penguin (Batman Returns, BTW, other than name, is NOT a Batman movie, it’s a Tim Burton movie. It’s a work of art, like every other movie Burton made minus the first Batman, which I thought was good and possibley Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. It’s creepy, dark, disturbing, non heroic and uninspiring, there isn’t one moment in it that would make a Batman fan proud). Indiana Jones 4, which I also can’t wait to see, looks good and all, but I feel it is something that should have happened a few years ago instead of now. And besides, people have SEEN both Indy and Batman PLEANTY of times before, I feel people will gravitate towards something new and exciting like IM cuz they don’t know what to expect with it. I believe the same crowd that went to see Spider-Man (and Transformers, sorry) will go see this film.
That said, I am SO glad this spring/summer movie season is almost here! You wouldn’t believe how many times I wished that I were watching THIS summer’s movies instead of LAST summer’s movies last year.
We’ve got some great films to look forward to this year, guys. IM being at the TOP of that list!
IM is Marvel’s NEW Spider-Man!!
Damn, Kel… I’m honestly astounded that you really think this will beat TDK!
I personally don’t care which one “wins,” I think they’re both going to rock and are far apart enough not to cause the other to lose money.
Vic
Almost forgot, the end scene where IM shoots the tank looks like its CG work is actually finished! ALL of it looked GREAT!!!!
Also, I can’t believe I actually complained about the “meatheaded” music! It looks like they are just keeping the Black Sabbath IM song as just a cameo in the film after all.
Man, Iron Monger looks SWEET. I like that he’s bigger than Iron Man here like in the comix.
That trailer was EXCELLENT. I can’t wait to see the movie and more commercials!
Same here, Vic!
I just want to see some good comic book movies.
….but right now I think IM will be king of the BO this year with Indy in second and probably TDK in third.
I like that the new IM trailer, while it had TONS of action, did not give away the plot of the film.
This film is going to be a GREAT example of how you tell an origin story, IMO.
And while I love both DC and Marvel, I have to say that I’m a bigger DC fan because I like more DC characters than Marvel and I read about 15 DC books a month and only one Marvel title, mostly because the Marvel U is not what it used to be, IMO, all the life and fun and excitement and energy that Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and CO injected into their comix is non existant in today’s Marvel U. I hope one day they’ll get that back. They’ll have to start doing Crisis series.
My top 5 fave comix heroes (couldn’t resist):
1. Batman
2. Superman
3. Iron Man and Captain America/Steve Rogers (tie, sorry)
4. Green Lantern/Hal Jordan and Flash/Barry Allen (tie again)
5. JLA
So I guess it is kind of awkward with me being a bigger Batman fan and all, looking forward to IM most this year. It’s just REALLY exceeded my expectations so far. I had no idea that the guy that made Elf would do such of a what looks to be a great job with Iron Man. Gives me some hope for Miller’s JLA film…..maybe.
Vic, will you be reviewing the film a day or so before it opens? I REALLY hope so,bud! No spoilers tho…LOL!
…and seriously, if Spider-Man can beat Star Wars at the B.O. then Iron Man CERTAINLY has a fighting chance of beating TDK and Indy 4.
Dear God! Just watched it again and it was even MORE EXCELLENT!!!
Damn! This just keeps getting better! How is that possible???
I’ll bet this is the type of movie that you can just watch and rewatch!
Plot:
A megalomanic billionaire industrialist (most likely in weapons defense contracts) gets captured by a terrorist group who want their own big boom-boom toys.
He designs an exo-skeleton armor and escapes and returns home to further develop said armor to “protect those he’s put in harms way.”
Mr Bad Guy gets wind of the original design from the terrorist group (making one think he was responsible for the whole she-bang anyhow) and builds his own.
Bad guy fights good guy. Good guy wins and gets the girl.
Add some awesome FX and a character twist here and there with some humor, and VIOLA!!!
Hows that for not getting too much of the plot from the trailer??
That above comment was purely in jest. I just re-read it and it makes me sound like a… well, a jerk for you G-rated kids at home.
=P
LOL
QUOTE FROM PANDA: “One of tha great things about BB was seeing Bruce try out the Batman persona, some successes and some failures (before he had the ’spelunking armor’. He didn’t just walk out the door with a bat symbol on his chest and kick a$$.”
But dude, that’s the way it happened in the IM comix. He didn’t go on this looooooong ass journey to find himself and spend years developing his skills and physique. No, it all happened in ONE (1) week, baby. That’s how you do an origin in a movie, man. Wrap it up nice and quick without being underdeveloped. We don’t need these looooooong boring introductions that take up most the movie and by the time we see the hero the movie’s practically over, like BB and Superman: the movie (both were excellent films,BTW). It’s like “I wanna see Batman, dammit!! Get rid of this long ass intro crap, I know who Superman and Batman are, dammit! Can we go on with the movie now??”. Especially the Ang Lee Hulk. Good God that was a horrible origin (and not a great film anyway). I actually shouted at the TV and said “turn into the Hulk already!”. At least with the Bixby show we knew that if we tuned into the first 20 minutes of the show and the last ten we were likely to find the Hulk but god, man! Some origins are just boring!
But IM is gonna set a NEW standard in superhero movie excellence, IMO.
May 2nd can’t get here fast enough……
OH!!!
Good guy gets his “tin can” handed to him by the bad guy a few times before he actually “wins”. It wouldn’t be a drama if you didn’t think there was a way for him to lose.
=)
LOL,Alca.
But I don’t see how that gives the plot away, I coulda told you that BEFORE seeing the trailer.
Kel, was getting worried thought we might have to send out a search crew.LOL
Glad to see your comments, man!
Kel, maybe B. Singer will take notes on how to approach the Superman franchise next go around after seeing such great quality this year.
LOL, Adrian!
Great to see you here too, bud.
Exactly, Adrian! And I hope Tim Story is taking notes too incase he ever does another FF.
But yes, I hope that the next Superman film doesn’t have the wishy washy out of character garbage that SR had in it. The best things about SR, IMO, were Routh, the score, Spacey, and the costume (sorry). I’m really hoping that they get a good script that is more of a Superman story this time round that hopefully ignores the SR errors (like the bastard child!).
OK, I downloaded the HD version of the trailer over at IGN and it looks even more incredible than the trailer Vic provided shows! This IS gonna be a kick butt movie, and I really don’t care which movie does better-IM or DK-they’re both gonna be awesome! Good summer to be a fan of superhero and adventure movies!!!
Ya got that right, Andy!
KEL:
I was saying all GOOD things about IM! Comparing what was in the trailer to things I LIKED about Bat Beg. I don’t care if it’s one week or seven years, I like to trial and error in the origin stories of superheroes.
I’m not always playing the other side
I am looking forward to IM. And like I said, the TDK comparisons need to stop cuz they don’t make IM and TDK are very different:
one dark, one a bit lighter in tone
one sequel, one origin story
apples to kumquats
LOL, Panda!
Agreed.
And I too like the trial and error in these stories, no matter how long it takes, as long as it isn’t *boring*.
I know that IM will do great and with that being said, IM2 will at least double the excitement with Terrence Howard aka War Machine team-up. Know that will make my head explode!>X
If IM is as good as the trailers then Jon Favreau should have is pick at ANY Superhero film especial Avengers and Cap.
Agreed, Adrian!
I say that Cap needs to be next! And have the film end with Cap being frozen, then have Avengers pick up with them finding Cap as a partial sequel! Just like the comix!
Panda, Superhero movies will alway end up being compared because of the genre that they are, fair or not. Yes, some are more light-hearted than others, but they still involve people with powers and crazy costumes. That’s just the way it goes. Now if people started comparing IM and Indy, well that is 2 different types of movies and is just absurd. LOL.
The movie looks friggin’ awesome and all, but I reeeeeeeally wanted to see the Mandarin. The Iron Monger is cool, but still, the Mandarin’s an interesting character.
HOLY HANNA!!!!!!!!!!
Cap had a movie, anybody see that terd from like 20 years ago? I like KEL’s plan of the Cap movie totally during WWII, then frozen at the end forhte Avengers to find him – awesome. Marvel plays their cards right and they’ll have a string of hit movies to last the next twenty years.
BTW – Why does it seem to me that IM is getting a lot more promotion than TDK? Is it because I get all of my movie updates on this site? (I don’t even own a TV)
Only thing that bugs me… Is the fight in the climax going to be at night?
Why are all the final fight scenes at night?

Remember the box office drop from Cloverfield? They had a masterful ad campaign with a stunning teaser scene and mystery about the monster.
No one even knows that “The Dark Knight” is a Batman movie. Conversely, mentions of Heath Ledger’s most recent project referred to it as “a new Batman movie” (not using the title).
It may be a fan fave, but it won’t have staying power and I sorta doubt the sick and twisted Joker face will appear on many Apple Jacks boxes.
Wow this trailer should be it….
Just keep this one don’t give us another.
I can’t stand it.
This one is sooo awesome that its enough allready.
I don’t want anymore. Give me the film I can’t stand this IRON MAN foreplay any longer. !!
^
These trailers are a form of mental fandom abuse at this point.!!

Congrats Jon F it looks like you know your shat. I bow to thee.
