Fail.
That’s the quintessential word of choice describing what I think about this trailer, and even the movie for that matter. Today we get our first look at what the Dragonball movie is shaping up to be, with the release of the first teaser trailer.

The trailer does nothing right for me. I actually think it looks awful and terribly cheap. With that in mind, I do have to admit that I am not a fan of the anime cartoon shows so I guess I could be biased.
I know it’s just an early teaser trailer and that it may be kind of unfair to judge a movie based on that. However, a trailer does share with us a lot of information such as how its filmed, the style and tone, what the effects look like, how the characters look and act, etc.
Take a look and see what you think before I really tell you how I really feel:
From all of those aspects, I have very little faith in this film and from what I’m reading online, neither do most others (including fans of the tv shows). The scenes shown here really make it look like they’re trying to imitate so many other movies but none of it really works.
So if that’s the case, who is this film appealing to? I would imagine most movie-goers aren’t excited about this, and if actual dragonball fans are worried as well… then I can’t see this doing very well at the box-office.
I will keep an open mind and see what future trailers have to offer. Perhaps its too early to throw down the hammer on this. But from the start, I have had nothing but negative feelings toward the promotional material and this trailer just adds to my feelings about this.
Dragonball is based off a successful manga series that lasted from the mid-eighties to mid-nineties which evolved into several anime television series’ and multiple video games.
The live-action Dragonball film hits theaters April 10, 2009.
So what do you think? Am I being too harsh?

While the trailer doesn’t look like it will be in the same field as the cartoon, I didn’t see anything drastic about it. The main actor has been a problem for me when I first heard he was playing Goku. BTW, I am a Dragonball Z fan.
Well from what I saw in the trailer it looks like it will be on par with other such great action flicks as the Street Fighter movie and the D.O.A. flick. With that said I think it MIGHT draw in a cult following but it looks far from spectacular. I think one of the reasons the fanboys of this series are going rough on it is because this isn’t based on the mega popular Dragonball Z but looks like it goes with the precursor to that series Dragonball which means no super sayians, etc. All in all I might rent it at this point but I won’t be doling out money for theater seats considering there will be much more bang for my buck.
Wow… I’m one of dragonball biggest fans and I know that everyone was criticizing this movie but with this trailer any support that I had for this movie are gone… It basically looks like a TV series.
Reminds me of Mortal Kombat. All you’ve got to do now is just wait for the guy in the background to shout, “Mortal Kombat!”.
I think this may be a perfect example of a studio trying to please the fans and a mass audience at the same time. Despite my low opinion of Iron Man, at least it honored the fans (as far as I’ve heard). I mean, they’ve even lopped of Piccolo’s antennas. Sheesh. I can’t believe the Dragon Ball fans allowed that.
Unless there’s a *ton* missing, skip this and watch the Drunken Master again.
People need to face it… Dragon Ball is just not the type of story that would ever work on live film… I am a huge anime/manga fan of all genres… and I have seen the asian versions of the live action film. The bottom line is nothing will translate well regardless of the special effects and talent you put in it. I am disappointed as a fan to see Chow Yun Fat actually take on the deal to star in this movie. The thing that made the series so popular in the first place was it’s rediculously exaggerated storyline and scenes. I am annoyed that people try over and over with this series only having it to come out as utter disappointment and ruin it’s name with live-action film with, if at all, absolutely minimal improvements from it’s previous attempt. Until someone can come out with a revolutionary script, and by the way this one just seems like a super-powered version of Fast and Furious, leave the monkey alone!
It looks awful, they don’t know what there doing.
doubt it could ever be done right maybe a remake of the vegita and namik saga in cgi would be better. at least in the film they cant drag out a conversation for 5 episodes lol.
who knows, it might just be a fun ride.
piccolo looks like crap
you hear that sound? that’s the sound of my inner child’s heart breaking. this looks like the type cheesey kung-fu action flick that oughta go straight to DVD. dragonball is just not meant to be a live action movie.
I think this is one of those properties that simply cannot be adapted to live-action. I mean look at the characters from the cartoon…let alone the action sequences, it makes no sense for real life, lol.
DragonballZ is one of my favorite shows of all time. I love it and own all the animated movies and most of the episodes. With popular movies about transforming robots among others making huge dollars I don’t get how people can say this type of story could never work on screen. People said the same thing about Iron Man. All that’s necessary is a strong vision and good directing skill and actors to make it work.
lets move on.. i want a remake …lol
Question:
“Fail” How?
That (for a I am guessing an early, forced Trailer) seemed to be more of a plot line for how the film will play out (Heroes, Quest, etc.) Basically the point of the movie.
The trailer your looking for (The one that shows way to much, spoils the best bits and basically tells you the ending.)
will come out just before the movie does.
btw… Piccolo looks awesome.
This teaser is 5 months old for expos crowd. Piccolo looks creepy as hell.
For some who writes FAIL at top of article, this staement does not mean
“I will keep an open mind and see what future trailers have to offer”
you already made up your mind.
I think you’re being a bit harsh. Some trailers look amazing, and then the film itself turns out to be crap (did you see *any* of the X-Men films? Huge let downs, in my humble opinion). Anyway, I don’t think it would be fair to judge a film until you’ve actually *seen* it–bottom line. How can you possibly review a film based on a one minute clip show? When I first saw the trailers for “Wanted,” I thought that was going to be lame. I saw a free preview of it…and it was much better than expected. Not my favorite of the summer by far, but better than what the trailer showed.
Someone saw a rough cut preview, and was not only pleasantly surprised, but enjoyed it, and cannot wait to see it again. This person was not an original DB fan, so my guess is is that it has mass appeal potential.
I’d say Mr. Keyes nailed this one in his review - there were so many moments of deja-vu watching that trailer that I could have sworn in a few places that I was just watching stock footage. One of the things that a trailer can do a very good job of demonstrating is the visual motif of a film: is it gritty? Cartoonish? Colorful? Somber? Something altogether new? This one, unfortunately, looked for the most part to be just plain boring. I’m not a fan of the originals by any means (or, for that matter, someone who even likes them that much) but you do have to give them credit for their commitment to the over-the-top presentation they used. None of that seems to have translated to the screen here. Maybe the movie is different, but if that’s the case then the trailer has done it a great disservice.
He&l, if most of the hardcore fans here were given the money and told they had `to make a live action “Dragon Ball” they probably would CGI 1/2 the characters and dub the thing in Japanese. If their was anyone in it that didn’t already speak Japanese! What you would have is an imprint of the anime into actor/CGI
with no added value in the story telling. What has it been five years since the last original episode aired in Japan? Face it this is as much of an effort to keep other people from taking the story premise and making a independent film as anything else. The more you widen the scope and expand the versions of the property the harder it is to capture the core entertainment/attraction that the original had for an independent story.
Besides all the basic story elements are intact. You might hate this version of “Dragon Ball” but it just might be instrumental in keeping the property from being watered down by others trying to cash in on a similar but different somehow story.
Liam: “People need to face it… Dragon Ball is just not the type of story that would ever work on live film…”
I think I now agree 100% with that statement.
The dragonball cartoon seemed very different in style than other cartoons at least I had seen. To make the movie look like “stock footage”, as someone put it, is a complete 180 from the TV show. The show stood out, the teaser blends in. But again, this is only a teaser… If this is indeed already five months old, then most of the special effects are still being rendered and better things may be yet to come.
Here’s a better idea. Rather than make this, make a movie about Monkey and Pigsy and Sandy and Tripitaka, which Dragonball was just another version of.
That is much easier to put into live action.
People who aren’t Dragonball fans might give this a go, something fun and dumb to watch, and fans might well turn up just in hope.
However I can’t see this wowing either. I’m not excited by it. Don’t even see the need for it.
Anime is perfect as it is to me.
“I don’t even see the need for it.”
The market has changed big time to focusing on hero flicks–DB is just one of many, many to come. Prepare yourself for a bunch of lame comic book heroes in late ‘09 and ‘10…DB might end up being a breath of fresh air after what’s in store for us…
well this was a trailer that was an ok thing. they did say that the story line was gonna be changed and not many things were gonna be like in the anime…i am a dragon ball fan and to me it doesnt look that bad.
i agree with lara 100%
u can’t rate a movie until u have watched it.
i’m gonna watch it and then give my verdict, but right now it looks a lot like another speedracer
That’s my point steven check: http://www.saiyuki.jp/index.html
They all derive from “Journey To The West” and are competing against each other. So you can see why they brought this to market. Just think of the market and look a little on-line. The weakest of this bunch might just get challenged for ownership of the story someday! Who knows what’s going on in the Asian courts? It might come down to the lack of a sufficient ‘war chest’, if the DB/DBZ properties were attacked. Is that what the haters want, no more DB/DBZ ever, and current media pulled from the market?

Wow, just think of the collector possibilities say, a decade from now? A pristine collection might command a nice price, if they lost “THE MONKEY KING WARS.” Mind you, it’s not like I’m saying this Will happen or will it??
I love the Saiyuki books. Not seen the anime though.
You also have One Piece that is influenced by DBZ - the creator admitting what a fan he was.
If these movies could make more people turn to anime then great. Somehow I doubt they will though. We’ll see.
I really hope there is better to come though.
Woah woah woah, is that suppose to be Piccolo?! Sheesh, god help em
Don’t mean to double post, but doesnt Piccolo look like a character from Hellraiser?
You guys…they haven’t finished editing. That isn’t finished product Piccolo. That’s all I have to say about that…
FAILURE…. THIS LOOKS LIKE A FAN MADE FILM THIS MOVIE WONT EVEN COMPARE TO DARK KNIGHT, IRON MAN AND HULK… IT DOESN’T EVEN LOOK APPEALING SO BORING MAIN CHARACTER LOOKS LIKE HE IS ABOUT TO GO TO DRAGON CON I HOPE SOMEONE FROM FOX READS THIS THIS IS A FAILURE WAITING TO HAPPEN.. AND IF PICCOLO ISNT DONE WHY SHOW HIM… HE LOOKS LIKE A OFF BRAND FREEDY KRUGER OR SUMTHIN
Yep this movie will be crap. The only people this appeals to is people who think crap movies like PG-13 horror movies are awesome. If you are a true fan you will admit this movie is crap and boycott it. Live Action StreetFighter, DOA and Mortal Kombat Annihilation ALL SUCKED, and this movie will be about as good and exciting as a turd that won’t flush. My week was already bad when I found out May Payne was rated PG-13, but this makes me want to start drinking.
As a lifelong DBZ fan, I HATE this trailer. The studio, writers, and director clearly don’t get what it’s about at all. Piccolo looks ridiculous, and the ensemble cast of characters is totally opposite of the show, which constantly relied on Goku, which worked. F*ck this film.
As a db and dbz fan i was worried when i heard about this film but when i saw the pics i was ..even more worried hahaha i saw the trailer and i thought wow its crap then i watched it again and again, its an interesting concept and they won’t show all the best bits of a movie in a teaser so i say wait just don’t be so negative towards the actors who in my own opinion fit their roles quite well especially james marsters .two things will decide this movie the dialogue between goku and picollo and the fight between them decide then cos thats really all db and dbz were, and db was about everyone dbz was just bout goku
@ Graham Day
This movie has already been decided by this actor roster, and the fact that it’s not true to the DB/DBZ series. This trailer has shown the best parts already and that is scary, because they did gthe same thing with babylon A.D. showing the best bits and that movie was mediocre (mainly due to Hollywood raping it per director quote). It looks like and will mostly like be like a worse version of Never Back Down, and that movie was terrible.
Still holding out hope for this one.
Like someone else said this DB movie is based on Dragonball and not DragonballZ. DBZ was MUCH more popular than the latter and I feel this is why fans of the series are so judgmental of the movie.
The director has talked about a trilogy to incorporate the Saiyan Saga and Frieza Sagas in later films which I would love to see. Unfortunately, if this film does poorly we may never get to see them.
At this point I would have rather seen them use the money to produce 5-10 more DBZ animé’s but like I said, still hopin’.
All I can say is, trailers don’t make the movie. Trailers that looked great: Battlefield Earth, Avengers, Speed Racer (back off 790
), Hulk (although there were aspects of Hulk that were pretty good); how many of these films did the fans like? I rest my case.
@ John Taylor
@ INK
@ Graham Day
I’m a big DB AND DBZ, Of Course fan will be judgmental this is more realistic.
Movie trailers themselves can make or brake a movie. Number one u will see if alot meaning the same scenes over and over.
Look at Rise of the Silver Surfer they completely changed it i read the comics not the same
Xmen -not the same
Spawn- i mean they were aiming for Rated R and hollywood wanted Rated crap.
Now look at how movie have evolved since the last 3 years alot has changed
CG, and money being spent on movies increase all the time
look at how they did the recent hulk, hancock , transformers
This is the best they can do on the 1st trailer
I will give this movie a chance when it hits HBO.
Just from looking at this trailer the move looks cheap.
Some graphic looks like a Scifi movie
I mean i seen better CG in Smallville
then still havent seen krillin
Next thing we know krillin will be a CG character
I understand the whole actor thing , and changing a story so that i will make a litte more since to the senseless
LIke SIN said DOA,mortal kombat 2, street fighter. It looks like a mix between and Japnese movie remake that we stole and made it our own
this will Stain DB and DBZ
I agree, with Jeanet i got a little sad watching that trailer. I am a huge fan of the 3 series owning all episodes and movies on vhs and dvd”just a little obsessed:)”
well first of anyone stating DBZ movie you are wrong as it is only DB movie. the movie from that trailer looks like it will not be any good. at least that is my current opinion, future trailers may change my mind. watching the trailer it reminded me of watching the double dragon movie which i did enjoy when i was a child, but i dont want to see that kind of movie made now. Piccalo is green, not grey or an offwhite as he looks on my screen atleast. They are changing the whole story it appears, which is fine as long as it is still a good story, which it maybe. Transformers worked out to be a good movie, with them changing the story quiet a bit so no reason this couldnt be the same. Cast could be worse. I think dialoge will make or break this film. I will still see it fail or not, and that is when i can make my final opinion.
The adventure part of the story makes it watchable for the non fan. Which might save this from commercial failure. One of the things fans don’t realize is that their opinion doesn’t matter. Company perception is that while fans may grumble they will end up seeing it anyway. Since the non-fan has no sensibilities about the franchise they aren’t going to be bothered that Piccolo is only slightly green/yellow or that for some reason his antenna are slicked down. They will be more concerned about pure entertainment value. I think the reason “Speed Racer” failed at the B.O. was a combination of high tech beyond anything filmed before combined with the wrong pacing. “Dragonball” is filmed in a traditional style and has a much greater action/adventure tone to it.
@ John Khales
Trailers do make the movie at times. DOA trailer was crap and so was the movie. MK Annihilation -Crap Trailer and Crap Movie. Sorry but this movie will be crap because they are trying to have it be some kind of Laguna Beach looking crap. This is just NEVER BACK DOWN with DB/DBZ characters thrown into the mix.
And the Speed Racer trailer looked like crap from the beginning. THis is a plot to appeal to tweens.
i understand what everyone is saying the fans will hate it and they people not fans will like it duh…this always happens but it will Die in the box office
They will realize when if fails that they used the wrong format for this film … look at marvel movies they had flops and then they came back Nicely…
This will fail like Spawn
Sci-Fi channel look like they made this
and the Characters look like they going to the Anime convention
and of course company dont care they jus want the move and the name itself sells
but if they read the manga and watch the episode they could add detail and really turn it into the DB universe
but its more like lets make DB our way HOLLYWOOD
It seems like a kung fu action movie with dragonball stamped on the front so that it might capitalize on that popularity. There really aren’t words for how bad this looks.
Well some important news might be coming in a day or so. Stay tuned!
Dude, it’s not even the real trailer–
“No Trailer with Max Payne
October 6th, 2008
Our friends at DB Legends talked with Fox about the status of the trailer and if a different one would be shown with Max Payne. As it turns out, the trailer that was leaked was not meant to be shown to the public, and they were working on a better one that was planned on being shown with Max Payne. But because the film’s special effects are still not done, it has been delayed until later this year.
Fox quote:
First off, we love your enthusiasm for the film. We are so sorry to ask that you remove the content. It is not meant to irritate or discourage you and your readers from following this film campaign. It’s just that the pieces of content that are being leaked were not created to be used this way. They were only meant to be shown to potential Licensing & Merchandising partners who need to make partnering decisions far in advance of release date, and the content has not been approved for online use. Elements like music clearances and even talent approvals have not been pursued because we had no intention of having this go online. Alot goes into a trailer or video being authorized for online use….
We had hoped to have a really kick-ass trailer done by MAX PAYNE’s in-theater date, but because alot of effects shots are still being worked on - we’ve decided to wait until there is more material to work with, so we can really “wow” you and the fans. This is not uncommon for a film that still has 6 months until it goes in theaters. It looks like the real trailer will be released a little later in the year.
Again, thanks for all your interest. I am happy to update you when we get new artwork and approved video to distribute. We appreciate you removing the content, and don’t mean to cause you any headaches with your readers.”
with old man here …. i hope i get a smile put on my face
I hope you do. But methinks people will still find something else to gripe about.
i wont gripe if its worth paying for i jus hate how sometimes hollywood takes movies and just do what ever they fill is good to them..
Understood. But none of us will really know till it’s actually released and we see it in its entirety.
I look forward to the spring
I wanna be impressed i want to thing it will be good so i will wait for the real trailer. .. and then when u finish school u will unleash great movies upon the planet earth
Ok what is anyone even talking about now. It goes from the crapy looking Laguna Beach Warriors, I mean DB trailer to the PG-13 Max Payne. I fail to see Carrie how this DB trailer is not a “real” trailer since it has the Fox Logo on it. And sorry I dont need to see the whole movie to know it will be garbage like DOA.
Whether this trailer was an accidental leak or not, the movie will still be crap regardless of what else they do to the effects. Special effects don’t always equal a quality movie.
Hey, just because one thinks it’s going to be crap without actually having seen it (which I am still not getting–if it is crap when I see it, cool, but again, I have to *see* it), doesn’t mean it’s the gospel or something.
The same goes for the one trying to say its not crap without having seen it also trying to make it out to be the gospel or something. The fact of the matter is this movie is not going to be stellar and will be an overall let down which equals crap. I’ll wait for Never Back Down part 2 before I waste theater money on this.
@Carrie
I’ll see about getting another post up on this reflecting the latest info regarding the footage.
Vic
This franchise doesn’t have the base to be stellar. To be stellar it would need a base 5 maybe 10 times greater than it has. Then you could command a 190 million budget. That would draw better quality everything. Then it would have a chance to be stellar. They need to grow the franchise and all the hate isn’t helping. I can only hope for a solid “B” movie with enough entertainment value to draw more interest to the franchise. The story material is good, certainly better than GT episodes. Just wait for it to come out and if you can’t stomach it, then wait for a TV release, or a dollar a day rental. Just tell yourself it’s all a … dream… it never happened.
You’ll sleep easier.
This trailer is proof that you can rate a movie before seeing the entire thing: zero out of 10.
First off, they used hollywood losers to write the story.Instead of using the acutal creator of the series to come up with an original story. Two it seems that Japanese manga characters in hollywood movies aren’t given the same respect as say Spider-Man or X-Men.All the characters in the Dragonball series don’t really have complex outfits to design so why couldn’t there be more orginal wear. The only character with problems in design is Piccolo.Oww by the way is Kami going to make an appearance and will he look like a Blade reject? This movie will make 50 million and fade away faster than a dying old Namek!!!
How can you say that avoidz? It’s not even taken from a final print. Most of the complaints are superficial and weak. If you want DB/DBZ to be this secret guilty pleasure that an elitist group only shares, then form your own group and leave everybody else alone.
Ben Ramsey’s credits include
love and a bullet which was rated a 5.1 out of 10 star movie
The Big Hit which was rated a 5.7 out of
10 star movie
and has penned “Luke Cage” which
is currently in production
James Wong credits
Final Destination was rated 6.7 out of
10 stars.
While the ratings aren’t stellar they are a few steps up from a steaming pile!
Which can be expected with a relatively small fan base. By the way Toriyama san wouldn’t write a new DB property he’s said as much before.
ratings are from IMDB.com
Who said Dragonball GT?
That never happened!
Begone with such words!
I agree with SUPA 46 some Hollywood movie that are Japanese Influenced fail… the characters look crappy, the story dumb’s down and the complexity of the whole movie fails. Not every hollywood action movie does this though, but i do have to say that lots of Asian action movies are better even with crappy effects.
I wouldn’t say that hate is keeping movies from going places but think about the movies that should have been great. X-MEN all of them think 1st movie ok
2nd movie better than 1st 3rd movie FAIL 1st of yall why get the guy who made the rush hour movies to even make XMEN he even said he never read a comic
So with that being said i would have more faith if some director’s did there homework when it comes to video game movies, anime and comic book movies
Marvel has a path paved out follow them a little bit .. their movies have been good because they know about the genre
And so has Chirstoper Nolen he changed up batman but made it good.. Even that guys that made smallville
@ old man
You know there was recently a movie called Wanted that very few people knew about and they were able to get A-list actors into that mediocrity. The fan base is strong enough my friend. The problem is the age range of the fan base because which is 10 - 30, and most people who have time to watch DB Saga are between 10-23. So that already doomed the creators to make it some cheap Laguna Beach crap. Also I’m not sure where you are getting your ratings scale, but the Big Hit is at least an 8.
Also I agree with BJ and everyone else that Hollywood needs to stop trying to Americanize everything Asian. And if you dont know what Im talking about just look at all the PG-13 horror crap from the last 8 years, The Grudge, the Eye, One Missed Call, ETC.
I believe the fan base is strong, but the strength is relative. Especially in the U.S. Its popularity isn’t equal to Batman, Spider man, X Men, or Iron man. I bet the average U.S. film attendee over 59, if shown the Hulk photo and a Goku photo, could name the Hulk and his alter ego. Goku and the name of his Saiyan father doesn’t even have that level of recognition. They simply haven’t been around long enough.
Who are the Asians??
It’s interesting to note that it’s considered an American phenomenon to label citizens by their ethnicity rather than the country they came from. For example, Koreans and Cambodians find little in common, but when they arrive here they become “Asian.” This is something that is becoming a greater and greater problem. Do U.S. citizens become hyphenated Americans when their nationality is, what? Koreans, Japanese, Haitians? How far can the emphasis on keeping cultural roots go before national identity is compromised? Because the nations of the world all face this problem, the same thing is happening in places like Japan too. As for the movies; “The Grudge,” “the Eye,” “One Missed Call” or even movies like “poltergeist,” and “The Exorcist” hold little interest to me. I haven’t seen any of those and so can’t judge based on their merits. I wouldn’t categorize mediocre movies with total wastes like “Ishtar” or “Three Amigos” either. A movie rated on a 10 star level would have to rate 2.5 to a 3 to be unworthy of seeing in some venue. For me ,because it’s “Dragon Ball,” it already rates a 3.4, because I’m interested in it. “Ishtar,” for example I had never heard of before seeing it. A friend wanted to see it, because they thought it would be funny…:( About as funny as cat claws on a chalk board to me. I was never so glad to get out of a theater in my life! That thing was 1/2 star. It got that for Beatty and Hoffman showing up. How they got through that without sickening and dying, I’ll never know! The movie in “The Ring” that killed everybody, was actually “Ishtar.”
@ old man
Firstly you just killed your own comment about fan base saying it is not relevant, so why mention it in the first place. Also Wanted has a much weaker fanbase than DB yet they got Morgan Freeman and Angelina Ho-lie on board. Secondly I said Asian because many movies have been taken from the many different nationalities and races of Asia and have been Americanized mostly for the worse, but some like The Departed which is an American version of the Chinese film Trilogy Infernal Affairs is pretty good. Also don’t assume everyone posting is “American” that shows narrow mindedness and again trumps your why do Americans label people by ethnicity. Also don’t try to take this to a debate of nationality origin and how people identify themselves.
Asia is a continent. People from Asia are hey guess what called Asian regardless of what country in Asia they from. Furthermore some one would say Asian if they were not sure what part of Asia some one or something was from to not be offensive.
Also it’s common knowledge a 59 year old would not recognize who Goku is becuase DB Saga was not introduced during their era, especially if they were not from America. You can show a photo of the HULK to a 59 year old non-American and they would probably not know who the Hulk is, much less his alter ego, so what the point of the Goku/Hulk comparison? Also DB came way after Hulk in respect to the Manga, show series so of course a 59 year old would not readily recognize Goku.
Three Amigos is a classic, Isthar just by box cover didnt look funny. So it again comes down to the fan base and age range . I suggest looking up the track record of original movies or anime from Asia that have been turned into Americanized crap. The list is long.
Re: SIN187UM
I’m not saying it’s going to be great. I’m not making any comments one way or the other because the fact is, like you, I haven’t seen it. So how in the blue hell can anyone make a comment one way or the other without having seen it? That’s crazy. That’s like writing a book report on a book I only read the jacket of.
Because that is my 1st amendment right to say if soemthing if crap or not without seeing the whole movie. If I want to say a movie is crap based off of a crappy trailer its my right, and this website provides a platform for that. Hell is too hot to be blue. Also there has been some one who has written a report on a book just by looking at the cover.
Re: the old man
You know what, after further contemplation…don’t bother. A lot of people can’t seem to comprehend reason. This is a circuitous discussion that is going no where. Kudos to you for making the effort, though
Add you self to that list of non reason comprehension. This will continue to be circuitous as long as people try to one up some one.
“Blue hell” is a figure of speech. Furthermore, the hottest part of a blame is the blue part, so if hell is a hot place, then referring to it as blue would certainly make sense.
And I’m not trying to “one up” anybody. I am just not one who will prejudge someone or something without knowing the full story. If you consider that attempting to “one up” you, then that’s your problem.
@ Carrie
LOL wow the fact that you try to make yourself seem so educated is funny. Thanks for telling me something I already knew. Furthermore blue can also represent coolness as well, or sadness. And yes you are trying one up someone. My only problem is this CRAP DB movie and CRAP trailer. Period.
I don’t seem educated–I am.
And you’re welcome to your opinions, guy. Keep up your glorious comments. I’m sure everyone else here appreciates reading them, and experiencing first hand how insightful you truly are. Bravo.
Firstly guy or girl or whatever your preference the only person who said you werent educated was yourself. But you try to make yourself seem so much smarter than than anyone else which is easy online. Thank you for compliments, your attempts at sarcasm are weak indeed. If my comments being enjoyed Im sure they would be deleted. Encore at 7. Now leave me alone LAME.
SIN187UM vs Carrie: “Mortal Kombat!”
What *are* you talking about? Whatever. I’m not trying to make myself seem smarter than anyone on here. But I must say it isn’t hard to make myself seem smarter than someone more simple than anyone else on here could ever hope to imagine.
“Now leave me alone LAME.” What are you? Seven? You called *me* out first. Don’t start things you can’t finish, kid.
“Finish Him!”, Carrie.

I don’t know what kind of forum you’re used to but here at Screen Rant we are civil and polite to one another even when we disagree.

Looked at the trailer and comments. Trailer looks mediocre and the movie looks like hot garbage. I agree with everyone who says this trailer is a failure and that the movie will be a failure. I also agree with SIN on the last bit, and didnt see how he was being uncivil. He just simply responded to sarcasm directed towards him and gave a shared point of view. Anyway like I said this movie will fail, and this trailer of the footage proves it.

Clearly you didn’t read all of the reviews, since SIN calls me out by name first, or where he calls me lame or accuses me of being uneducated.
@ CHUCK
Thank you.

You know what, after further contemplation…don’t bother. A lot of people can’t seem to comprehend reason. This is a circuitous discussion that is going no where.

LOL wow the fact that you try to make yourself seem so educated is funny. Thanks for telling me something I already knew. Furthermore blue can also represent coolness as well, or sadness. ”
I did read. Just because you did not type @ SIN187UM doesn’t mean it was not directed at him which seems like that is what he obviously felt that, it was the first comment. Secondly he never said you were not educated, just that you were trying to act so educated with the blue flame comment. there is a difference. Also he did finish it when he told you to leave him alone, and personally i would have chosen another 4 letter word for the trying to be sarcastic with compliments bit.
RE: Chuck.
You are clearly SIN in disguise. Why don’t you just man up instead of posing as someone else?
Also, there were other people who were saying the same things on here, so no, that first comment was not directed at anyone specifically. And how else do you construe “LOL wow the fact that you try to make yourself seem so educated is funny” other than that he was clearly implying I was trying to be something that I’m not?
And finishing something by calling someone “lame” is not finishing anything–that’s someone who’s trying to keep it going or is assuming that they’re being smart in getting “the last word.” As for you choosing a another four letter word, well, good luck with spelling it properly.
Think what you want too, but sorry not him. Also wasn’t it you who typed the last response? What it seems like is that you typed the last response then ran to the admin to make sure it was the last word. Oh my god he called you lame, big deal i’m sure you have been called worse, i know I have. Now you see how you try and put some one down who is only giving his view on something, trying to insult someone’s grammatical ability. You have clearly just now just proven him right in his statements.
Yeah, I typed the last response. I’m not going to go run and hide from anyone, including you. Also, right back at you in “think what you want to,” because for your information, no I did NOT go to the administration. I can fight my own battles. I don’t need to hide behind anyone or anything. And again, no, I don’t take lightly someone trying to diminish me publicly. However, if one can throw out insults, then they should be man/woman enough to take them as well.
I don’t have to insult someone’s grammatical ability or lack thereof–the proof is in the pudding.
Because I am respecting the what I feel is an unwarranted warning from admin, and from the simple fact I’ve told you to leave me alone anyway I don’t need to do anything but sit back and watch, nor do I need to disguise myself from anyone online or offline.
Thanks

YAWN SQUARED.
Well said, Chuck. “Yawn” indeed.
Why are you still trying to have the last word??? Is it that hard for you to let go?
I’m closing comments on this thread since people can’t seem to discuss this without getting personal.
