Here’s the brand new trailer for Casino Royale, the upcoming James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig. As to the question of whether or not this is a prequel of sorts, showing Bond early in his career, I think what the movie does is spend a bit of time there (note the black & white portion of the trailer), but that most of the movie takes place in the present.
Personally I think this looks like it’s going to bring the James Bond franchise back down to earth and more reality than the fantasy adventures that the series has morphed into. Looks really good to me.

I agree; that does look really good. Here’s hoping the actual movie lives up to the trailer.

The black and white portion are his first 2 kills, which earns him his 00′ status. The rest of the movie is his first mission as a 00′. Casino Royale was Fleming’s first James Bond novel. It is set in present day but it is a reboot of the franchise. Bonds first mission.
