Beast and machine battle...
Although I’m not a huge gamer, I still look forward to playing the Avatar video game. The primary reason being because it’s being developed alongside the movie, with Cameron taking a personal interest in seeing it turns out to be good. Also, Cameron has said that certain elements that were created for the game were actually incorporated into the movie itself, which sounds very promising indeed – I would think it would normally and logically be the other way around.
The images so far for the Avatar game have looked pretty damn sweet, and out of these three newest ones I’d lean towards the first one as my favorite. Something about the machine directly opposing that monster looks extra badass. Here’s hoping the actual game itself turns out to be at least decent (although I certainly hope for a lot more from it).
For a few more Avatar game images, as well as info on the movie from the E3 conference, you can take a look at Screen Rant’s earlier post.
What do you think of what we’ve seen of the Avatar video game so far, particularly these three images? Do you think the game will turn out to be well done and not just rushed like most movie-to-game adaptations?
Avatar is scheduled to hit theatres on December 18th, 2009. The game is expected sometime early December, also in 2009.

mouse and keyboard control is definitely dominant over console controllers but they release so many more games on consoles.
the ones i love most on consoles are counter-strike, cs source, call of duty modern warfare, bioshock and fallout 3.
@fenix
if you haven’t played fallout 3 i would check it out. it’s pretty sweet.
I agree fosho, Hey your talking to a veteran gamer here haha. Fallout 3 is the s*** I played it all the way thru and loved every minute of it. The player is really immersed in that world and its done so well. Since my xbox just broke
I have to send it in so i’m relying on PC games until then but my comp was brand new circa 2004… So i’m playing games like battle for middle earth, diablo and warcraft, you know the great throwback titles. I can’t play shooters tho because i’m used to the latest and greatest and those old shooters on the PC just won’t cut it. I really like the battlefield games and I hope the new one will be just as sick as the last. Oh by the way, another great game that immerses you in the world= Dead Space… they need to makee that in to a movie!
My name also might be a hint that I’m a gamer… Starcraft sonnn
Damn, have you guys ever played Resident Evil 4 on the Wii? It is and feels awesome. Although I do think PC games are top notch too. My favourite one is Age of Empires II. It is so addictive for me. Just thinking about it right now makes me want to play it. Mmmm…
thank you for following up with this game, I’ve been to lazy to search for it my self.
@NHOJ
The game has absolutely nothing to do with the movie in any way, they have different characters, weapons, vehicles, story, factions… etc. And it should come out 2mths (I think) before the movie.
These screens makes me wish for a MechWarrior film.
It actually does have something to do with the movie in the way that its set in the same universe… It’s called a parallel story and even though main characters from the movie might make cameos, There will be an independent story to educate us on the lore of Pandora and hype us for the film that will be released a couple months after. I mean would you rather them mimic the exact story and release it before the movies? (ala Spider-Man games and many others) that doesn’t make any sense does it.
@Fenix
I was mainly only talking about the Wii’s controller being close to mouse aiming in that the aiming thing moves as fast as you can move your hands and not limited by “sensitivity” settings like a joystick is. But the Wii is only limited by what game companies can come up with. They think it has a kid image so they make kid games. It’s not like if you tried to make a more adult game on the Wii the console will explode or something. Resident Evil 4 on Wii is awesome and so are the Metroid Prime games. And I’m sorry, I’m not a kid, but I LOVE Mario games and always have.
I used to play the original Rainbow Six games then Rogue Spear back in the day. Too bad Redstorm was bought out by Ubisoft…
