I saw a program on Discovery channel once about how fast nature would reclaim our cities without us. And though I cannot show you this program, I can show you this chart: http://www.worldwithoutus.com/did_you_know.html

Apart from the “let’s take a bunch of cool stuff from knowledge on prehistoric man and stuff it together” factor, I think this movie can be a cool fantasy movie. Not that it couldn’t have happened, though. All the animals in the trailer have existed, although maybe not in the same space as each other.
For all I know they may have, but there haven’t been found bones or fossils from them in the same places.
Historical sources suggest that there have been lions in Europe, even in the UK, and even more exotic creatures, but they were hunted to extinction, though there isn’t much physical evidence to back that up. Blame it on hygiene. :p

As for the “(how convenient, says I)” comment, I am taken aback at how arrogant that seems to me. Nature is a very destructive force, and humans are quite resourceful in building societies and finding ways of making life easier for themselves.

Seriously, this looks terrible. Is that girl wearing eyebrow pencil? I’d rather go watch The Teenage Caveman and ponder how much it oddly resembles The Village.

I’ve seen this trailer about a dozen times on TV now and I STILL have no idea what this movie is supposed to be about. Yes, the visuals look stunning, the wonders of CGI, but what is the PLOT? Or has Hollydud forgotten there’s SUPPOSED to be a plot to a movie??

Pete, it was reported over at Dark Horizons, admittedly as a rumor so it’s not 100%. But it makes sense becuas they’re both Warner Bros movies and they expect it to have a big opening weekend.

I can confirm the Iron Man trailer as I got that directly from Jon Favreau.
