Get ready… because Christmas has started to arrive on Netflix! November’s additions to the streaming service’s catalog include a sprinkling of seasonal offerings, and while there are sure to be a few more in early December as well, Christmas fans can start to get in the spirit with new films like Angela’s Christmas at the start of the month, The Christmas Chronicles mid-month, and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding at the end.
Of course, there are plenty of other new additions too, from Netflix Originals like She-Ra, Princesses of Power to classics like Sixteen Candles. As the weather starts to turn cold, there are no shortage of options for curling up in front of a warm TV.

15. Bram Stoker’s Dracula
Halloween may be over, but for anyone not quite ready to let go of the spookiest season of the year, Bram Stoker’s Dracula hits Netflix at the start of the month. Francis Ford Coppola brings his own vision to the classic tale of the bloodsucker, adding some romance, amazing performances, and earning multiple Academy Awards as a result.

14. Close Encounters Of The Third Kind
Some more classic spooky viewing is also arriving on the streaming service this month in the form of Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, Steven Spielberg’s 1977 foray into the world of sci-fi and alien abduction. It’s a fantastic look at human obsession, aliens, and - of course - those iconic notes of music that everyone will know.

13. Doctor Strange
Another superhero joins Netflix this month, as Doctor Strange arrives on the 1st. The 2016 Marvel movie introduced fans to a whole new character - and a corner of the Marvel Universe that is filled with magic and mysticism. This is a straightforward origin story, which makes it perfect for newer fans who don’t know the rest of the MCU movies, but who just want to watch a surgeon become a superhero.

12. Good Will Hunting
Get the tissues ready for this ‘90s tearjerker starring Robin Williams, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Good Will Hunting centers on a young man from Boston who is a janitor at MIT, but who is also a mathematical genius. When he is arrested for fighting, he agrees to take therapy and math classes as part of his plea, and he and the professor who discovered him work to battle his demons, and to figure out how he can reconcile the hugely different parts of himself.

11. Julie & Julia
This sweet film will leave you uplifted - and hungry! Perfect for a rainy November day when everything feels a little bit blue… Based on the book of the same name, Julie and Julia tells two stories simultaneously; that of Julia Childs as she learned to cook in Paris, and of blogger Julie Powell, as she turns to a cooking project to change her life. Charming and encouraging, the film has its sad moments, but is overall a great light film for anyone to enjoy.

10. Sixteen Candles
Another absolute classic, Sixteen Candles was one of those films of the '80s that changed the teen movie game. The film stars Molly Ringwald as Samantha, a teen whose sweet sixteen birthday is forgotten by her family. As the day continues, we get a glimpse into the lives (and hopes and embarrassments) of multiple teens in Samantha’s life in a bittersweet and heartfelt offering from John Hughes.

9. The Other Side Of The Wind
The Other Side Of The Wind has been a long time coming - a previously unfinished mockumentary by Orson Welles, originally shot in the ‘70s. The project was filmed and edited on and off for years, and ran into financial difficulties along the way, but has finally been finished posthumously after years of legal battles multiple attempts. A documentary about the making of the film, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead, also hits Netflix at the same time.

8. Outlaw King
Fans of historical dramas will love this new Netflix offering telling the story of Robert the Bruce. Set in 14th century Scotland, it charts his journey to take the crown of Scotland and win back the country from the occupying English - despite overwhelming odds. Starring Chris Pine as Robert, this is definitely one to appeal to history buffs and Game of Thrones fans who want to get their epic battle fix.

7. She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power
Possibly one of the most talked-about new Netflix Original series, She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power is a reboot of the original animated series from the ‘80s. The basic premise is very similar, as an orphaned girl finds a magical sword that transforms her into a warrior princess, and starts her on an adventure to save her world alongside some new princess friends. A must-watch for original fans, as well as families looking for inspiring role models for the kids to see on screen.

6. The Last Kingdom (Season 3)
Fans of The Last Kingdom can look forward to a third season of the series hitting Netflix mid-month, bringing back the Saxons and Vikings battling it out in the 800s to build a new land that will one day become England. A must-watch for lovers of epic warrior battles and historical drama, this will be the first season of The Last Kingdom as a Netflix series, as the streaming service saved it after cancellation by the BBC.

5. Jiro Dreams Of Sushi
This well-known documentary is a must watch, not only for foodies, but for anyone fascinated by the pursuit of perfection and how that can impact a family. Jiro Dreams Of Sushi tells the story of the first sushi restaurant of its kind to receive three Michelin stars - from the obsessive love that the owner has for the food he serves to the struggles of his sons to live up to his legacy.

4. Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Gauntlet

2. A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding
Last year, A Christmas Prince became a surprise holiday hit for Netflix, despite a thin rom-com plotline and plenty of people having fun picking holes in everything from the story to the sets. However, everyone loved the film for its cheesy Christmas spirit, so Netflix is releasing a sequel this month, as Amber and Prince Richard gear up to get married. Expect more ridiculously sweet holiday goodness from this one.

1. F Is For Family (Season 3)
Finally, another animated series releases a third series this month, as F Is For Family returns. The adult-oriented cartoon features the distinctive vocal talents of Bill Burr as a bitter father in the ‘70s, trying to keep his family together and make a good living. It may not be the most cheerful, but it’s a the bleak humor than fans love.
