Here's our weekly rundown of the biggest new releases coming to Netflix this weekend, and a complete list of all the other titles that are also becoming available.

Bird Box

Sandra Bullock and Sarah Paulson in Bird Box

From Oscar-winning Danish director Susanne Bier, Bird Box is a thriller set in a near-future where society has been beset by terrifying unseen entities. Well, actually, they're not unseen - the twist here is that anyone who catches sight of them will be driven to suicide or to homicidal insanity. Sandra Bullock plays a mother leading her two children through this treacherous world, surviving by wearing blindfolds at all times. Bird Box has been compared to this year's earlier horror film A Quiet Place due to its similar premise, and is easily the most intriguing release coming to Netflix this weekend.

Watership Down

It's time to get traumatized all over again with Watership Down, a new BBC miniseries that adapts Richard Adams' novel of the same name. Watership Down tells the story of a warren of rabbits who are violently evicted from their former home and go in search of a new one, encountering fearsome dangers along the way. The four-episode series features a star-studded voice cast, including James McAvoy as Hazel, Nicholas Hoult as Fiver, John Boyega as Bigwig and Daniel Kaluuya as Bluebell.

Aggretsuko: We Wish You a Metal Christmas

Aggretsuko is an anime musical comedy about a red panda called Retsuko who works off the frustrations of her day job by singing death metal in a karaoke bar every night. This special holiday episode, Aggretsuko: We Wish You A Metal Christmas, features a guest performance from Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong and his current project, Tim Timebomb and the Interrupters. The episode sees Retsuko's obsession with her social media presence putting her Christmas celebrations in jeopardy. Can the power of rage-fueled music get her out of this jam?
