As streaming services go, Netflix is leading the way when it comes to commissioning and distributing anime content. It already boasts the likes of Death Note (the series), Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist as well as original series Castlevania and Ajin , and Netflix shows no signs of stopping. Hoping to corner the market on Western distribution of anime, Netflix has secured 13 new series to release on their platform over the next year.

Here's everything you have to look forward to in the months to come.

Japan 2035: a major accident called the "Burst" occurs during an artificial life research project causing an A.I. lifeforms called "Matter" to spread through the Kurobe Gorge. The research city was quarantined by the government, leaving 15-year-old Aiko Tachibana on the outside and her family on the inside. She teams up with Yuya Kanzaki, a new student at her school,when she finds out she has a secret hidden within her body. They decide to infiltrate the restricted area, escorted by a team of divers to find out answers with the fate of humanity in their hands.

This 12-episode series, directed by Kazuya Murata, will debut globally on Netflix in Spring 2018.

B: The Beginning (formerly known as Perfect Bones)

In the archipelagic nation of Cremona, powered by advanced technology, Koku, the protagonist and Keith, the legendary investigator of the royal police force RIS, contend with a serial killer called Killer B and a chain of crimes conducted by a mysterious criminal organization. The 12-episode series was created by Kazuto Nakazawa and directed by him and Yoshinobu Yamakawa. Katsunari Ishida wrote the screenplay and the series features the voices of Hiroaki Hirata, Yuki Kaji, Asami Seto, Hiroki Touchi, Minoru Inaba, Ami Koshimizu, Toshiyuki Toyonaga, Shintaro Tanaka, Atsushi Goto, Toshiyuki Morikawa and Kaito Ishikawa. It's set to air in Spring 2018.

The Japanese manga series Grappler Baki has sold 63 million copies worldwide, and now it's heading to Netflix for a 26-episode run. The series follows Baki Hanma, a fighter who wants to be strong enough to surpass his father, Yujiro Hanma, but who draws the attention of five of the world's most violent and brutal death row inmates.

Bored of their life and unworthy fighters, the inmates want to be overwhelmed and defeated by Baki, who is joined other underground martial art warriors - Kaoru Hanayama, Gouki Shibukawa, Retsu Kaioh, and Doppo Orochi - for the brutal fight of their lives.

Cannon Busters follows the adventures of royal-class friendship droid S.A.M., a kooky discarded maintenance robot, and a deadly fugitive. The threesome head off on a dangerous journey to find S.A.M.'s BFF, who happens to be the heir to a powerful kingdom under siege. The series was created, directed and executive produced by LeSean Thomas (Children of Ether), and its first season will have twelve episodes written by the likes of Natasha Allegri (creator of Bee & Puppycat), Anne Toole (The Witcher video game), Nilah Magruder (M.F.K. web series) among others.

Children of the Whales

Abi Umeda's manga series is set in a world covered by oceans of sand, where 513 people live in complete isolation on the œMud Whale, a moving island that floats on the sand. The island's inhabitants have special powers called "saimia", but they shorten one's life-span when used. Chakuro, the island's archivist, one day meets a mysterious girl named Rikosu from another island as he investigates an abandoned ship that driftes up to the Mud Whale, changing their lives forever.

Children of the Whales is directed by Kyohei Ishiguro and stars Natsuki Hanae, Manaka Iwami, Yuichiro Umehara, Nobunaga Shimazaki, Mikako Komatsu, Daiki Yamashita and Hiroshi Kamiya. The series will debut everywhere except Japan on Netflix in 2018.

An ancient race of demons have returned to Earth to take back the planet from humans and it's up to Akira Fudo to stop them. Koki Uchiyama will be voicing the lead anime character who learns from his best friend, Ryo Asuka (Ayumu Murase), that to stop the demons, he must become one himself thus becoming the Devilman: a hybrid with the soul of a human and the powers of a demon.

Ichiro Okouchi has written the adapted screenplay from Go Nagai's original story, into a series comprised of 10 episodes and directed by Masaaki Yuasa.

Fate/Apocrypha is another Type Moon story

This series is set in a parallel world to Type-Moon's original Fate/stay night, in a city called Fuyuki, where seven magi and their Heroic Spirits once clashed in a Holy Grail War. Amid the chaos, a magus made off with the Grail and took it to Romania leaving two opposing factions, Mages (Red) and Yggdmillennia (Black), of seven Servants each to do battle in a Great Holy Grail War. Natsuki Hanae, Maaya Sakamoto, Koki Uchiyama, Miyuki Sawashiro, Junichi Suwabe, Saori Hayami, Shunsuke Takeuchi, and Sakura Tange. star in the 25-episode series directed by Yoshiyuki Asai.

It will premiere is the US and Canada on November 7 and everywhere else, except Japan, on December 2. You can watch Fate/Zero on Netflix now.

Godzilla: Planet of Monsters is coming soon

GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters

Based on the iconic 1954 movie, this anime film begins in the year 2048, when the human race is forced to leave Earth after decades of losing against Godzilla and other giant monsters. After a 20 year journey to find a new planet, they discover the one they had hopes for has become uninhabitable so decided to head back to Earth as living conditions on the shop deteriorate. Upon arriving back on Earth, the crew discover that 20,000 years have passed and Godzilla is in charge.

Polygon Pictures' animated film stars Mamoru Miyano, Takashiro Sakurai, Kana Hanazawa, Tomokazu Sugita, Yuki Kaji and Junichi Suwabe. The film is the first in a trilogy and is scheduled to be released in Japan on November 17, 2017 and globally on Netflix after its initial theatrical release.

Rin (Suzuki), is an energetic girl who loves to eat and lives in a verdant frontier village while Finis spends her days in solitude deep within the royal palace in the bustling capital city. Both share a special power of song that can heal wounds, create water and stir the wind, and with the shadow of war looming over the kingdom, they must try to overcome the darkness to save the world as they know it.

Junpei & Morita have both directed and wrote the 12-episode series set to air in 2018.

Get ready for some Japanese manga meets Greek mythology as this series follows the modern day adventures of young warriors called "Knights", who are sworn protectors of the reincarnated Greek goddess Athena. Each Knights wears a powerful armor based on their chosen zodiac constellation, and orphan boy Seiya obtains the Bronze Cloth of the Pegasus constellation. They aid Athena in her battle against powerful Olympian gods who are bent on destroying the humankind.

Masami Kurumada's creation has been adapted into a 12-episode series by Eugene Son and will be directed by Yoshiharu Ashino.

Based on the manga by Homura Kawamoto and Toru Naomura, Kakegurui is set in a world ruled by gambling where losers become the slaves to the those who win their money. The original series was set in a private school that becomes disrupted by the arrival of compulsive gambler Yumeko Jabami who shakes up the social hierarchy. The 12 episodes series is directed by Yuichiro Hayashi and stars Saori Hayami, Minami Tanaka, Tatsuya Tokutake, Yuki Wakai, Karin Nanami, Mariya Ise, Yu Serizawa, Tomokazu Sugita, Mayu Udono, Ayaka Fukuhara and Miyuki Sawashiro.

It will premiere globally in 2018 on Netflix, except Japan.

Rilakkuma (which translates to mean "relax bear") is a famous soft toy character created by San-X in 2003, and its merchandise has been extremely popular in Japan and abroad. The bear's story is that he turned up one day to live with an office worker named Kaoru and never leaves her apartment. Rilakkuma has a mysterious zipper on its back and loves pancakes, rice omelets, custard pudding and œdango rice dumplings.

To mark its 15th anniversary, the bear is being brought to life through Dwarf Studio's stop motion animation skills in a 13-episode series.

Sword Gai tells the story a young boy, called Gai, who accidentally gets his arm cut off by his adoptive father, Amon, a swordsmith. The the demon sword in question, Shiryū (lit. Death Dragon), is forged into a fake arm for Gai, but contains evil spirits that he controls to fight against his enemies.

The anime adaptation of Toshiki Inoue, Osamu Kine, and Keita Amamiya's manga will premiere on Netflix worldwide in spring 2018.
