A first look at Neighbors 2
Following the success of their 2014 hit comedy Neighbors, stars Seth Rogen and Zac Efron — along with director Nicholas Stoller — return for Neighbors 2, and some new details on the film (as well as the above image) have been released ahead of its May 20, 2016, release.
The film’s story centers on a sorority that includes new cast members Chloë Grace Moretz and Selena Gomez, and it will reportedly feature a hall-of-mirrors rave and a tailgate sequence inspired by the world of Mad Max. In addition, it will see the married couple played by Rogen and Rose Byrne worrying about the future ahead for their young daughter.
Blake Shelton joins The Angry Birds Movie
Country singer/The Voice coach Blake Shelton has joined the voice cast of The Angry Birds Movie, the upcoming film based on the popular video games. He plays a pig named Earl in the film and contributes a song to its soundtrack.
Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad and Danny McBride also voice characters in the film, which centers on the arrival of the Green Pigs in the bird-filled paradise. The Angry Birds Movie opens opposite Neighbors 2 and Shane Black’s The Nice Guys on May 20, 2016.
Anomalisa receives new character featurettes
Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson’s stop-motion animated comedy/drama Anomalisa has been ending up on countless critics’ lists of the best films of 2015. Now the film has received a pair of featurettes (see above) centering on its two lead characters, Michael and Lisa (voiced by David Thewlis and Jennifer Jason Leigh, respectively).
The film centers on an author of customer service books who crosses paths with a stranger that changes his world forever. It marks Kaufman’s sophomore directorial effort, following the 2008 release of Synedoche, New York and features Tom Noonan voicing all other characters other than the main two protagonists.

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone star in first image for La La Land
Damien Chazelle made his Oscar-winning feature debut with Whiplash in 2014, and the filmmaker is poised to follow-up that acclaimed drama with another music-centered release in La La Land. The modern-set musical reunites Crazy, Stupid, Love co-stars Emma Stone and Ryan, and we now have the first image from it (see above).
Set for release on July 15, 2016, the film tells the story of a blossoming romance between a musician and aspiring actress. La La Land is inspired by the 1930s and 1940s films that starred Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, who starred in 10 films together over the span of 16 years.
The Tupac biopic has begun filming and is titled All Eyez On Me
Formerly titled Tupac, the upcoming biopic centering on iconic hip hop star Tupac Shakur has been titled All Eyez on Me. The film — directed by music video director Benny Boom — has begun filming, as confirmed by star Demetrius Shipp Jr. on Twitter.
In addition to Shipp as Shakur, the film stars Jamal Woolard — reprising his role from the 2009 drama Notorious — as Christopher Wallace a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G. All Eyez on Me has yet to receive an official release date from Open Road Films.

A first glimpse at upcoming book adaptation The Girl on the Train
Based on the best-selling novel by Paula Hawkins, The Girl on the Train may be poised to be one of fall 2016’s biggest thrillers. The film — directed by Tate Taylor (The Help) — stars Emily Blunt as a troubled woman who witnesses a murder and gets wrapped up in a larger mystery as a result.
Luke Evans, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux and Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation standout Rebecca Ferguson also star in the film, which is set for release on October 7. It marks the first DreamWorks production to be distributed by Universal, following a recent deal between the two companies.
How to make Nicolas Cage: The Movie
Between his wide range of film projects and his notoriously offbeat performance style, Nicolas Cage is among the most divisive performers working today. In a new video (see above), YouTube stars Michael Gallagher and Steven Greene pitch a project centering on the everyday life of the Oscar-winning actor.
The viral video is the latest installment in an ongoing series that explores “bootleg” feature and television adaptation ideas, as created, directed and hosted by Adi Shankar. Shankar’s YouTube channel has previously made headlines for short films like “Dirty Laundry” featuring Thomas Jane as the Punisher and the unauthorized “Power/Rangers”.

Only Yesterday gets a new trailer
Only Yesterday — from the legendary Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away) — was released internationally in 1991 but remains the sole film from the studio that has not been released in the United States. However, the film has just received a new trailer ahead of its nationwide theatrical release on February 26, 2016.
The Engligh-language version stars the voices of Dev Patel, Ashley Eckstein and Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley. Directed by Oscar nominee Isao Takahata (Grave of the Fireflies), the film centers on an office worker who reflects on her childhood during a trip to the countryside.
Some new details have been released on Patient Zero
Director Stefan Ruzowitzky (Deadfall) brings a new pandemic thriller titled Patient Zero to theaters this fall, with Doctor Who star Matt Smith leading the cast. We have just received our first look at the new film, which centers on a battle against creatures infected with a terrifying virus.
Smith plays a survivor gifted with the ability to communicate with those affected by the viral outbreak. Natalie Dormer — who stars in this month’s horror film The Forest — will also appear in the movie, along with Stanley Tucci. Patient Zero is set for release on September 2, 2016.
Clint Eastwood’s Sully film gets a first look
Oscar-winning filmmaker Clint Eastwood will take the tale of Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger — who saved the lives of the 155 passengers aboard U.S. Airways Flight 1549 when it landed in the Hudson River in 2009 — to the big screen when Sully arrives in theaters on September 9, 2016.
Tom Hanks stars as the eponymous pilot in the real-life drama, which deals with the investigation that followed the incident and the decision Sullenberger made during those critical moments. Laura Linney and Aaron Eckhart provide supporting turns as Sullberger’s wife and co-pilot Jeff Skiles, respectively.
Lamborghini: The Legend biopic lands a green light
AMBI Group has optioned the film rights to the life of Ferruccio Lamborghini, the founder of the famous car company named after him. The resulting project, tentatively titled Lamborghini: The Legend, is based on a book and includes input from Lamborghini’s son Tonino.
The film will follow Lamborghini’s life from manufacturing tractors early in his career through to the production of the cars that would become his signature business venture. Moreover, its scope will also include the personal story of the man behind it all, and filming for the project is set to begin in summer 2016 in Italy and elsewhere worldwide.
The first image from Money Monster has hit
In Money Monster, George Clooney stars as Lee Gates, a financial guru and television host whose life is uprooted when an angry investor — played by Jack O’Connell — storms his set and takes him hostage. Julia Roberts plays the show’s producer, and her character is tasked with dealing with the situation from the control room.
Directed by Jodie Foster, the political thriller has been a passion project for the filmmaker behind it and marks her first directorial feature since 2011 drama The Beaver, which starred Mel Gibson and Foster herself. Money Monster will be released on May 13, 2016.
