It looks like Joe Carnahan’s film version of The A-Team is finally coming together.
20th Century Fox is currently in negotiations with Liam Neeson and rising star Bradley Cooper (The Hangover) to star in the film as John “Hannibal” Smith and Templeton “Faceman” Peck respectively.

The long-gestating A-Team film has been in development for almost a decade and names previously considered for the role of Hannibal over the years have included Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson and George Clooney. However, out-of-left-field choice Liam Nesson is now on a roll after coming off the sleeper action hit Taken (which grossed $221 million worldwide) as well as signing on to play Zeus in the Greek epic Clash of The Titans.
Bradley Cooper, on the other hand, is the current favorite to star as Faceman in The A-Team. And, with The Hangover receiving great reviews and snagging a strong box office take, it looks like Cooper is in a position to negotiate a pretty good deal for himself.

The A-Team (which is based on a 1980’s TV series) are “a crack commando unit sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune.”
The team is compromised of four members – the aforementioned Hannibal (the leader), lady-killer Faceman, as well as “Howling Mad” Murdock and B.A. Baracus. The roles were originally played by George Peppard, Dirk Benedict, Dwight Schultz and, of course, Mr T.
Casting for the film is currently underway (duh), with principal filming scheduled to start in August. While Nesson and Cooper aren’t firm locks yet, expect the studio to announce their attachment soon.
The A-Team will be produced by Tony and Ridley Scott and is scheduled for release on June 11, 2010.

Cooper is fine, but not Neeson even Neeson/Aslan/Michael Collins/Rob Roy rules.
Mel Gibson for Hannibal!
Agreed, Cooper looks the part but Neeson is an odd choice. Need someone more casual.
Considering the smoking laws these days, will they allow Hannibal his famous cigar? Hope so.
After Taken I rekon Neeson can do a role like this and play it blony well.
They look like solid choices to me. I wouldn’t put it past Liam to put in a good performance as Hannibal. I still think Bruce Willis is a better fit. I mean, I can almost hear him in his John McClane cocksure tone, “I love it when a plan comes together!”
I can see Liam Neeson totally pulling of this role. He’s a great actor. That being said, I still would rather have Bruce Willis as Hannibal. I can hear him saying, in that John McClane cocksure way, “I love it when a plan comes together.”
Well here is My opinion for casting
Face= That Cooper guy does look like he would be a perfect fit
Hannibal= You want someone seasoned yet silver haired I think James Coburn or Kris Kristopherson or even I hate to say it George Clooney
B.A.= this one is hard to find the right guy but I think Quinten Rampage Jackson fits the role perfectly
Murdoch= This one is easy Jim Carrey
James Coburn is dead dude. And if they have Jim Carrey in this movie I won’t be watching it. I’m tired of that guys lame movies.
I hate it when reboots come together…
Seriously why not cast the original actors and have them hand over the team to a younger crew as part of the plot of this film ???

Wasn’t the rumour mill awash in earlier months that Chris Pine was gonna be Murdock? After seeing him as a mental nazi in Smokin Aces i think he could pull it off.
Hate to agree but Clooney would be pretty good for Hannibal.
Think Michaek Duncan Clark could be BA, except maybe he is too softly spoken. BA needs to bark.
Guys, Mel Gibson for Hannibal! You know its a perfect fit…and you can’t tell me Gibson is a bad actor, he’s the Road Warrior after all!
Mel Gibson for Hannibal, but better yet Eric Roberts. No Neeson, please, ‘Taken’ was okay, but Neeson was made of cardboard.
Cooper for Face, fine, Michael Clarke Duncan for B.A., as long it’s not 50 Cent, and Murdock… Jim Carrey, yeah, maybe when he was in his prime. What about Walton Goggins (The Shield)?
i say for the part as the leader bruce willis or george clooney would be best to fit the part as the leader of a team i could see bruce with a cigar they both could fit the part any one of them would be a great choice
Liam Neeson must not be cast as Hannibal. He couldn’t crack a joke if he tripped over one. He has no twinkle in his eye. I think Mel Gibson would be great. I like the E.R. idea too.
For B.A., I suggest Rick Ross.
Here’s my thoughts on who the cast should be.
Hannibal has to be played by DAN AKROYD!!!!!! He’s perfect for the role.
B.A really should be Cube.
I suppose Cooper’s not bad for face. Although Brad Pitt’s not bad at delivery of comedy. And hey Faceman was fairly wooden anyway.
And last but not least, as much as he does my nut in Carrey would probly be a great Murdoch. Or what about Sascha Baron Cohen, he’d do Murdoch justice.
