  3. Batman vs Superman will blow Captain America 3 out of the water. But I hope somebody moves so both these films can make a crap ton of money and not consume each other.

I actually liked Ryna Reynolds as Hal Jordan but yes, that movie was complete and total garbage. I would have stopped George Lucas from killing Darth Maul or doing the prequels in the first place.

  4. Mannnnn, Rob kinda sonned Ben in that Batman Vs Superman / Cap 3 topic.

    • he did what?!

    • We don’t all have the same opinions going into our podcast discussions, if we did it wouldn’t be a very natural show.

I’d be a disingenuous idiot if I simply argued with Rob – just for the sake of saving face. Marvel is Rob’s beat. He knows his stuff and made good points.

    • @Tay1

I’m excited to hear it. That is Robs domain.

…Bens good at stuff too. ;)

      • oh…

        what Ben said ^

    3. 300 Rise of an Empire
    4. Mr. Peabody and Sherman
    5. Need For Speed
    10. The Grand Budapest Hotel

  6. To annoy Occasio even more, in X2 Wolverine puts a cigar out on his arm in cerebro, and in the unrated cut of the Wolverine he lit a cigar on the exploding snowplow! what a BAMF!

I’m a really big car guy, and going into Need for Speed I had a little bit of hope that this would be a good movie. The concept of using practical effects instead of CG did intrigue me, but despite the fact that they were practical, it wasn’t very realistic. Cars would just flip up in the air for no reason. You can really see that if you build a movie completely around there being cool stunts, this is what you get…

I really don’t agree with the idea of just turning off your brain and not questioning anything… none of the plot makes sense, its all a super convoluted mess that contradicts itself at every turn. Going thru and making a list wouldn’t be productive, most of my issues were touched upon at some point.

  7. #1 Muppets Most Wanted
    #2 Divergent
#3 300: Rise of An Empire
    #4 Mr. Peabody & Sherman
    #5 Need for Speed
    #10 Son of God

  8. I think everyone is forgetting that while Cap 3 and BvS will be released on the same day, that is ONLY in the US. Cap 3 will come out before on the international scene, on which Marvel is stronger than WB, even Thor 2 beat MOS in those markets.

  9. Wolverine smokes during First Class.

  10. Smokin

Who wears a trench coat better
    Constantine and Castiel?
I actually like the Flash costume in the set photos(looks good to me) rather than the promo, that looks odd, especially the lightning one.
Think itll look good on screen, you guys talked a lot about this.
I think its interesting that marvel is willing to sacrifice cap 3. Itll take a chunk out of BVS but I believe it will make less because of it
Everyone will double feature both of them and the studios will make-a so much-a mon-ay.

General audience movie goers will most likely pick one.

    question is whats more attractive

A third installment of an established character
A brand new semi-sequel with two of the most popular heroes ever.
“Supernatural” Bloodlines is hot bologna, they should be working on the actual show, which is sucking hard this season, too bad since season 8 was good.
Frozen not good, just watch Let it Go video and maybe Do you Want To Build a Snowman
Lego movie good, Everything is Awesome only makes since when you watch the film.
The art style of How to Train your Dragons is better than Cloudy, which is also hard for me to watch.
I never liked Ryan Reynolds or rather, never thought he was a good actor
    plus I never liked him.
Mark Ruffalo > Ed Nornton as Hulk ftw

    • Ahh glad to hear it wasn’t just me that was put off by Cloudy. I still plan on getting around to it at some point!

  11. Eh, Gilmore Girls doesn’t really get better sorry, dude. Especially with Lorelai’s story arch. I still resent whoever thought it would be a good idea to give Luke a daughter.

    • Or why he would suddenly start keeping secrets and being weird? Ugh. Sad to hear it. But I feel like I’ll have to cross the finish line one of these days. :(

      • You all better watch Bunheads.

  13. i enjoyed this movie. ive seen it twice. im gonna take a girl to see it with me next. she wants to see it. witch is awesome. overall nobody should not compare this with fast and furious. one reason ITS A VIDEO GAME MOVIE!!! its good and theres actual AWESOME RACING in it too!

  14. 1. Divergent

  15. Listening while working:

    * Constantine should be allowed to smoke
    * The Flash’s uniform looks stupid
    * Marvel should NOT back down. You watch – it’ll be the biggest box office weekend in history because people will go see both. Plus if they do it will show weakness. I’m sure you know what I mean
    * No idea about Supernatural: Bloodlines. Course I hear that and I think of The Vampire Academy spinoff books called ‘Bloodlines’
    * I also loved DS9
    * Frozen is awesome. So is Lego.
    * I ALSO have not watched the last half of the last season of GG. I didn’t want to like Sam either. It had been out 6 seasons before I started watching Supernatural
    * Add ‘The Wire’ to my list of shame as well :|
    * And ‘Last of Us’ :( (and The Walking Dead – which I also OWN blah)
    * Got a point about Ryan R in Green Lantern
    * Haven’t seen Need for Speed and don’t really care to honestly. My response is ‘Veronica Mars’!

  16. Ugh. To all the hip-hop heads, sorry I wasn’t here to represent for Kid Cudi.

But here’s a song with him and Michael Bolton to enjoy!

  17. With the Captain America 3 vs Batman vs Superman debate, Rob totally blew my mind with what he said about how Marvel is just using Cap to stop Batman v Superman from making more money. I don’t know why i never thought of it like that.

The way I see it is that we don’t know exactly what they have planned for Cap 3 and what the MCU is going to even look like after Cap 2 and even after the Avengers take on Ultron. For all we know, Cap 3 could be at the scale that the first Avengers movie is, or bigger.

I for one, will go see Cap 3 at midnight before Batman v Superman just because I am more invested in the MCU right now. It took me a while to finally watch Man of Steel because Marvel just has me so invested in to there universe that I didn’t want to distract myself from what was going on. And I think that is a big part of it. Like Rob said, what does DC have coming after that movie? If they were to come out and say, “Hey this is our proposed lineup for the next few years and it showed signs of a shared Universe between movies I might be more inclined to pay more attention to DCs movie-verse. Right now they have me with there TV-verse and comics and have converted me from marvel to where i only really read dc comics now and im hoping maybe they can convert me a little to watch their movies more.

  18. Wow! This was one of the best podcasts; this had me rolling on the floor laughing to you all talk about “the cost of airplane gas, how many times seeing a car flip over to how a semi is better for traffic than a airplane.” I’ve replayed this podcast twice to my friends, and I’m sure this was better than me wasting my money and seeing this movie. Your Time machine question about actor’s and actress got me thinking, what if I could stop Lindsay Lohan from being a crack head after ” Herby The love bug.” My mind went straight to Mel Gibson but you guys we’re totally spot on about his movies in the 2000′s! Wonderful Podcast, and I would like to see ‘Arrow’ and ‘Flash’ upgrade their outfits over time. Anthony’s accent for that ‘Supernatural,’ spin-off was hilarious!
