I love anything that touches on the apocalypse. ‘ I am Legend’ and ’28 days Later’ are some notable films that revolve around this subject. And if, they is going to be a show, I’d totally give it a shot.

Last year I heard NBC Universal was working a series based on a book by a survivalist author about a worldwide collapse of the financial system followed by a general collapse of society. Wonder if this is it? Back then people said it would air on the SCI-FI network which is also owned by NBCU. More like a cross between the twice failed Jericho and the box office bomb The Postman. Whatever the case this wont be like LOST at all and will be grounded in the real world. No weird Islands with smoke monsters and time travel. Its odd the plot outline isnt more specific. I guess thats the gin up interest in it by keeping it shrouded in mystery.

I enjoy the British post-apocalyptic shows like The Last Train and Survivors (Original Series).

There is room for another decent post-apocalpytic series, but if there are flashbacks people will just go “Meh, Lost ripoff” and tune out.

What you’re saying rings true with me Sock. Season 1 was more compelling when they were isolated to some degree, and on their own.

Once they branched away from their town, it became more about conspiracies. At that point, we were hooked on the characters, regardless of what they did from that point on.

At least to some degree.

Yeah I think you’re right about it feeling like Jericho Bruce, and as much as I’d enjoy another (If possible, a better one.), I think that if the same style of Lost is used on this, it would ruin the concept. That’s what had me so hooked on the first season of Jericho: the characters’ back story was all secondary, and it was primarily about the survival of one town. But it was ruined in season two, where it became more about the characters, and explaining why the world blew up, then just telling how the characters survive. This is what I predict (IMHO) Day One will quickly turn to.

eh…come on..enough with disaster/end of the world flix…when is “the walking dead” or “stray bullets” or “100bullets” coming to tv?? They had a “planetary” option on the table prior to “lost” what happened with that??? Nothe problem is they are just plain fickle bitches..

Initially, it smells like a Jericho clone, but it’s Alexander, so there’s a serious amount of hope to the originality / twists that he’s gotten good at tossing at us.
