well that might even be said to be true as far as audiences go, look at the ratings, people want to watch Idol, survivor or dancing with the stars (Not my style, but then again, I can be picky about my choice of brain candy, tyvm). Although it does appear that Castle is kicking the crap out of Leno so far, and while it’s not The Wire or Mad Men, it’s not trying to be either.

Castle is one of the better shows out there right now but you also have to look at some of the crappy shows it’s competing with that shouldn’t even be on the air. As for Firefly, it had some of the most unique writing and dialogue in the history of television. Plus it had an extremely underrated cast. But it seems that imagination and being unique are not what the heads of studios want these days.

The writing is very fair, the direction is okay. Fillion is good, but not good enough to take sometimes-cheesy scripts whose dialogue is hit or miss to the next level. Compared to a lot of crap on TV, this show is certainly better than the average, but it falls far short of stuff like Firefly.

Don’t think Castle is a sure thing, the ratings aren’t looking so great – but encouraging people to watch via Hulu (as well as when the episodes air of course) and giving the ABC feedback will make a difference.

If Dr. Horrible isn’t an internet phenomenon, what is? It won an emmy and is helping kickstart the push internet media – it was incredibly successful, earned a massive fanbase AND critical praise.

And you didn’t like Firefly?

ps. I’m not a big dollhouse fan and I didn’t watch Buffy… show a decency and thought, dude.

I disagree, lol. Drive was very bad. Despite a neat idea, every character was difficult to watch other than Fillion’s. And for some reason, they didn’t reveal his true character till AFTER the 2-hour premiere.

I admit it, I’m a huge fan of his work!! I’ve seen everything I believe he’s been in, with the exception of regularly watching the soap he was in (not a soap fan). From everything you read about him he’s genuinely a nice person, you don’t see him in the tabloids constantly, he keeps his private life private, he’s an awesome actor….and distractingly charming. I really wish this man the best. Castle is one of the best shows on tv right now, I’m so glad ABC saw fit to renew it. I watched the whole first season and couldn’t believe it was actually on the fence…would have been a shame to lose it.

What is your problem? Dr. Horrible was a HUGE hit (enough so that it was included in a bit at the EMMYS), and Firefly was an awesome show with such a strong following that despite having been canceled after only two seasons ended up with a feature film (which was awesome as well).

So you need to relax and watch it with the rude comments.

I love the show. Can’t get enough of Fillion.

Not unlike O Bloody Hell, I’m hetero and I’ve got a pretty serious man crush on this guy (Fillion, not Hell).

I hope this show continues for a long while. Fillion deserves it.

Me neither. I’m a purely hetero guy, and *I* can see why women would love him. He’s got both the down-home, not too prissy, earthy kind of guy, yet he’s cool and classy at the same time.

Two nights, actually, three eps. And you should, it was a fantastic concept — The Amazing Race crossed with Lost, created by the same people who helped Whedon bring you his great stuff. It looked to be interesting, intelligent, *and* entertaining. It joins Wonderfalls, Love Monkey, and Day Break as the worst F-ups the network programmers have made in the last 5-odd years.

From what I heard of Castle Season one, it barely survived.
However, I am grateful that ABC renewed it. I find it great and anticipate every new episode. However, I am in the minority. I am a viewer from a country that dosen’t matter.
