I like it.

She is a talented actress and quite beautiful.

I knew that Thor could not just be in Asgard. In order for him to be in the Avengers he had to be on Earth at some point.

Here’s hoping this is great.

John "Kahless" Taylor says:

Sounds good to me. I think she is a very good actress and I like that the movie will be in both Asgard and Earth. Too bad they will be cutting the Shakespearean jargon.

Andy S says:

Sounds like a good choice to me. I’m hoping that this movie kicks some major butt!!

Foopher says:

She made an awesome Padme. Looking forward to her

Stephen says:

Guys you have to stop posting the pictures of girls like Natalie Portman at the top of the page. I’ve had this page open for about 15 minutes and am only halfway through the article!

Daniel F says:

Much better than the actual casting of Thor which was terrible

Phil G says:

I’m not crazy about her being involved.

But as long as she’s not Sif, I’m all right with it.

kenoboss says:

all hail Natalie, great choice for the movie, it gives it the much needed “star power” to draw in the paying customers, and her being a “babe” doesn’t hurt either,
a awesome choice bravo, bravo, bravo!!!!

Vineeth says:

V for Vendetta is missing. Badly edited article in some places – please recheck thoroughly.

INK says:

“Badly edited article …”

How’s that glass house?

Iron Knight says:

Sounds good for me. But I’d want to hear some Captain America casting announcements now

790 says:

V for Vendetta, is her best performance (IMO)……

Having her in Thor makes this a must see,,,Good casting choice!!! Good call!!

Daniel F says:

I think not only has she had better performances than V for Vendetta she has done much better movies.

Doom3524 says:

Great news. She is a very good actress.

Also, you guys do have a knack for finding the hottest pictures of these leading women…kudos on that department!

@Doom

Oh, we could find hotter pics – but we try to keep this a family friendly site. :)

Andy S says:

Foohper, she was AWFUL as Padme. As a matter of fact, the acting performance of nearly every actor in the Star Wars prequels was awful. Except for Ian McDiarmid, he was awesome as the Emperor. The fact that she is such a great actress in everything else she has done, shows that Lucas really is horrible at writing dialogue. I mean, even Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor and Samuel L. Jackson stunk up the joint. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the dialogue that made Hayden Christensen stink, he’s just a horrible actor. :P

tasouli says:

Good casting call on Natalie Portman. She has proven time and time a gain that she is a great actress and she definetely carries a lot of stage presence. Thor is starting to look more and more like a interesting project but nevertheless I also do agree that we need to hear some Captain America news. What is the hold up?!! Comic-con will probably have something big in store for us about cap

Tim "Cloverfield" says:

She proved herself to me in “V”. Good job. Thor keeps getting better and better. Uncle Kenny will pull this off!

Iron Knight says:

@ Andy S. Couldn’t agree more with you.

V for Vendetta is one of my favourite films, so I loved her there. She was also very good in Closer

Daniel F says:

This is a little different from everyone else, but my fave of all her performances was Garden state. It was just so different from everything else she had done. A lot of her other character while not being exactly the same were very similar in demeanor and seriousness. In Garden state she was very different and fun loving/crazy. Not to mention I hated V for Vendetta.

i think natalie portman is a terrific choice to play jane foster in the marvel thor movie. a wonderful actress very smart & talented actor, and because she will be starring in a marvel film i love her very very much. thor is most beloved of any marvel character. the most exciting powerful colorful and the most interesting of any superhero in the marvel universe,i also like chris hemsworth & tom hiddleston to play thor & loki, they are superb actors. i can’t wait to see this movie,i will see this movie ten times or more.

Gordon says:

I’m going to dissent and say I think the casting for this movie has taken two wrong turns. I’m not sure about Trek-boy as Thor, when you have Skarsgard (an actual Swede). Then instead of choosing a powerful female for the lead, they chose little miss Portman. Meh.

Manowar says:

Using little petite Portman is going to make Chris Hemsworth look huge on screen. Maybe this was intended too…

Daniel F says:

Manowar has a very valid point. They will need to do everything they can to sell Hemsworth as a believable massive God of Thunder. He isn’t that big and casting smaller actors and actresses will pay off for him looking bigger. I’ll say they made one wrong casting choice with him, but I think Natilie is a great choice.

INK says:

@Daniel

Eh, get Stallone in there to ‘roid him up and he’ll be fine. :)

michael says:

the marvel version of thor is such a captivating/interesting character for me because in his world there is fantasy with mysticism & magic. so many different stories are written for him & also because he is colorful and very appealing in the comics. i love reading thor comics and i cannot wait to see this movie no matter who star’s in it i just know the movie is going to be spectacular simply because marvel is in control of it. no one comprehends how to bring thor to life on the screen more than marvel, thor is a great superhero.

i like natalie portman as jane foster on thor i like natalie portman she’s pretty hot sexy and beautiful i hope i meet her and i like her so i like natalie portman as jane foster on thor so i will see thor in theatres may 2011 see ya

michael says:

does anyone know what costume will be used for thor movie ?
