It’s the year of frosty hardware colors for gamers! The Xbox One’s latest model, the Xbox One S, comes in the default white color with a slick white controller to match; the PlayStation 4 has a glacier white color available as of January, and PC gamers will soon be able to take a shot at nabbing one the limited edition Trident 3 Arctic rigs!
MSI first released the Trident 3 Gaming PC at the beginning of this year to critical acclaim, with reviews giving nods towards the unit’s price, power, and compact form factor which helps make it a VR-ready console alternative that can do a lot more. The Trident 3 Arctic doesn’t just come with a new color scheme though, it also houses a customized GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card and uses the latest Intel Kaby Lake processor to get performance levels far above its similarly-sized console counterparts.
The Trident 3 Arctic’s customized MSI GeForce® GTX 1070 graphics card in ITX format outshines any ITX reference cards found in other small form factor PCs. Built with an Intel Core i7 processor and combined with the stronger graphics card, the Trident 3 Arctic can fully support the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. MSI made it super easy to connect a VR headset by implementing VR Link, an HDMI-port on the front side of the system, supported by MSI’s One-click to VR software that automatically optimizes both system performance and prevents any software from impacting the VR experience.
MSI also crafted a unique way to keep the system as cool and quiet as possible despite the smaller form factor for the Trident 3 by individually cooling the most important heat-generating hardware in the system using separated chambers. When performance really matters, Trident 3 Arctic is up to the task and delivers powerful gameplay without annoying gamers with a noisy fan or overheating hardware.
