MS One Maximum Security Lockout Trailer Lock Out Trailer: Prison Break In Space

About a week ago a trailer showed up online for Lockout, a sci-fi action thriller whose biggest selling points are its cast – which includes Guy Pearce (Memento), Maggie Grace (Lost), Peter Stormare (Armageddon) and Lennie James (Jericho) – and the fact that it was co-written/produced by action movie guru, Luc Besson (The Professional, The Fifth Element).

Unfortunately, the Lockout trailer was leaked material that didn’t properly represent what the film was about (which is why you won’t find it here on Screen Rant ;-)) – the film has apparently altering  the “Lock-out” title in some markets, in favor of MS One: Maximum Security. Whatever the case may be, we now have an official trailer to share with you.

Check out the synopsis for MS One: Maximum Security below, followed by the trailer:

A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.

Fictional presidents shouldn’t have daughters. If there is anything that movies have taught me, it’s that. Every time a movie/TV president has a daughter, something bad is going to happen to her (see: Spartan, 24, a dozen other films). It really is a fact that more real-life presidents may want to start considering (Mr. Clinton, Mr. Bush, Mr. Obama)…but I digress.

Aside from its sci-fi tropes, MS One pretty much looks like a dozen other action/thrillers involving some unlikely anti-hero going into hostile territory to complete some mission that will win them some desired reward like freedom or wealth. You’ve seen them before. Still, with Besson involved, a respectable cast and a premise that looks like some good B-movie fun (think Con Air in space), it’s safe to say that this film will indeed find an audience.

MS One: Maximum Security is scheduled for release in the US on April 20, 2012.

  1. Yeah, it found an audience. ME! I saw the ‘Lockout’ (apparently leaked) trailer and it was great. This showed a lot more and I think it’s going to be a really great movie. Reminds me of ‘Escape from New York’ kind of.

  2. “some unlikely anti-hero going into hostile territory to complete some mission that will win them some desired reward like freedom or wealth”

Kofi, that’s the synopsis for my screenplay. Guess I’ll have to do a rewrite.
The trailer looked interesting, but I probably won’t see it in the theater. This looks like a movie to watch with the guys after football season ends.

  3. This would have been Die Hard 5 had they waited long enough.

    Still looks fun.

  4. Sold! I’m a sucker for these types of flicks. Too bad I hate Maggie Grace, though.

Man that was silky sweet when she blew up in Law Abiding Citizen!

    • That wasn’t Maggie Grace.

  5. Ah u guys beat me to it! It does sound like escape from new york. But in space which apparently make everything better in Hollywood.

  6. MS really stands for Michael Scofield. Breaking out of prisons since 05

  7. Reminds me of Escape from Butcher Bay, they should have had Vin Diesel to complete the mix, lol.

  8. Oh, but it does look interesting, not from a serious standpoint, but from a comedic standpoint. Hopefully it won’t be TOO cheesy…

  9. Guy Peirce getting work is always a good thing, never understood why he isn’t in more stuff. Maybe it was because of that crappy “The Time Machine” movie setting his career back…

    • I liked it, although it wasn’t as good as the original.

  10. Forest is lookin slim!

  11. Looks killer and fun. Need more “anti-heroes” instead of goody two shoes.

  12. Cant see the trailer. Damn iPad! but the synopsis sounds like Escspe from NY but in space lol which could be a good thing.

  13. What a stupid title. They should have gone with the original one, which at least didn’t sound like the title of a SyFy Original Movie.

  14. This is it..i cannot wait for this.

  15. Looks like a decent enough sci fi movie!! I might check it out when it hits dvd

  16. good enough to watch this movie, but not enough to own it.
