I’m still counting down the days till JLA collapses. If that film was really moving forward, we’d have heard something official from WB by now (if not a month ago!)

So far, TERMINATOR 4 has been the only major Summer 2009 tentpole WB has actively and openly talked about…correct me if I’m wrong…

Vic,I thought you should know that over at Supermanhomepage.com they’ve posted a you tube video of an interview with Scott Porter proclaiming positively that he isn’t Superman in JLA. Straight from the source! You should check it out if ya haven’t already. :-D
P.S.,it might be on page two of the site cuz it’s news from a day or two ago.

“I didn’t have time to read it myself so maybe you guys could chime in with a summary.”

Sure.

As of the 8th of this month, she says filming wraps next Friday. I’m assuming that to mean the 14th.

When asked if the Central Park Massacre will be used, she says that the scene will be referenced several times, but they will not redo an origin story, though it is a complete reboot. Elements from several different Punisher titles will be used.

He’s going to be a Marine Veteran of the First Gulf War as Vietnam was too far back and and she doesn’t want to take artistic license with real events.

She says Dominic West look “really cool” as Jigsaw, and we’ll get a first glimpse soon. Jason Faires will be doing the original music, no other music has been licensed yet, and she doesn’t know when a trailer will be released, though, if it were her call, she’d say a Feb/March timeframe. Expect a running time of about 100 minutes.

Frank Castle will break a lot of things, but she won’t say what. Ray has been playing an intense Punisher, “straight out of a Max comic.”

Martin Soap and Microchip will both be in the movie.

She hopes this will be the start of a franchise.

I have left out a few answers, but this should, I hope, summarize the major points. She doesn’t post any answers past the second page, though, so if I left anything out, it should be easy to find.

Thanks, Flame.

Are you a big Punisher fan? What’s your gut telling you about this one?

Actually, no, I’m not. I’ve seen both movies and I’ve seen some of his appearances in cartoons based on other Marvel properties, but that’s about all I know about him. I’ve never read any of the Punisher titles. I just thought I’d help out since I had the time available.

As for what my gut tells me, I’d say this director is trying to do the character and material justice, so it should be pretty good, especially if it makes the story one that people like me can follow and enjoy.

It feels like Marvel is doing the same thing on different fronts with both Punisher and Hulk.
