A whole slew of new images have made their way online for movies that we can barely contain our excitement for around here (I’m sure you’re the same way): Thor, Tron Legacy, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and The Expendables are amongst the movies we have new pretty pictures for.
With the 2010 San Diego Comic Con officially getting underway tomorrow, it’s no surprise that we’re getting hit with all sorts of teases from the studios for movies that will have a strong presence at the convention. Just yesterday we got a couple of really cool concept art posters for both Thor and Captain America to tease us before we get to see what the studios are going to preview for those two movies at the Con.
Now let’s get to the new images, shall we? The first up is an awesome image of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in the real-world (i.e. not the mystical realm of Asgard, as we’ve seen in other recent images). Thor appears to be trying to lift his trademark hammer out of a block of stone – I’m guessing from how much Hemsworth has beefed up for the role that he’ll have no trouble!
Take a look, courtesy of USA Today:
Pretty damn awesome. I don’t know about you but I’m liking the look of Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, both in the real-world and Asgard images. At first I wasn’t sure about him (maybe because I’d only ever seen him in a couple of things like Star Trek and A Perfect Getaway), but he fits the role really well in my opinion.
And here’s a better version of an image that was released last week featuring Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Hopkins in Asgard:
Thor will thunder into theaters on May 6th, 2011.
Next up we have a selection of new images that Entertainment Weekly featured as a sneak preview of the movies that will be at Comic Con 2010. The photos we’ve included are for Tron Legacy, The Expendables, Battle: Los Angeles, Scott Pilgrim and Let Me In. Check them out:
Tron Legacy opens on December 17th, 2010; both The Expendables and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World are released on August 13th, 2010; Battle: Los Angeles hits on February 18th, 2011; and Let Me In get its release on October 1st, 2010.
