Sucker Punch

Synopsis: Babydoll (Emily Browning) has been locked away against her will, but she has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls—the outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), the fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung) and the reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish)—to band together and try to escape their terrible fate at the hands of their captors, Blue (Oscar Isaac), Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino) and the High Roller (Jon Hamm). Led by Babydoll, the girls engage in fantastical warfare against everything from samurais to serpents, with a virtual arsenal at their disposal. Together, they must decide what they are willing to sacrifice in order to stay alive. But with the help of a Wise Man (Scott Glenn), their unbelievable journey—if they succeed—will set them free.

  1. On the Insidious one, I wonder if he knows that there is a guy in tribal make up behind him….

Some look good, others dont. Cant wait for The Hobbit.

  2. Khalar Zym… still not sure on the Conan movie yet.

Silent Hill: I see they have “Heather” in this one. Loved the game!

    You misspelled “Saint”. That… just… sounds… awful.

No Girl With Dragon Tattoo photos?? RAWR!!! Nautius ANGRY!!

    • it’s not mispelled. Check IMDb. That is the original name becausethe film is from Denmark i believe.

      • No, my friend. This movie is from the Netherlands and Sint (Sinterklaas) is also based on the St. Nicholas just like Sandy Claws (“He had a reputation for secret gift-giving, such as putting coins in the shoes of those who left them out for him, and thus became the model for Santa Claus, whose modern name comes from the Dutch Sinterklaas” – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Nicholas)

I saw the movie here: I was just expecting some random, cheap slashermovie. That was exactly what it was, but I really amazed me. For fans of the genre (and people who don’t like holidays), I advise you to find a way to see it.

  3. I never understand why directors/producers feel the need to unnecessarily put girls in skimpy outfits and sexualized activities. It always seems to me to be their fantasy to stand next to, look directly at, and possibly touch these young women. It doesn’t do anything for me. And I especially hate it when the actresses (despite whatever age they really are) are characterized in their teens or early twenties as in Sucker Punch. To me, it all seems like statutory rape or pediphilic or simply objectifing women. Here in the U.S., women are always complaining about their rights, why then do they continuously subject themselves to harassment on printed and filmed material.

Also isn’t Annie Ilonzeh on General Hospital?

    • Uhhhhh…. Calm down? What an odd comment, I’m conflicted though because I think I somewhat agree with you. Other than the “Here in the US, women are always complaining about their rights” part… What rights don’t women have in America? I do agree that it’s a bit strange he felt the need to make “Baby Doll” so closely resemble a 13 year old schoolgirl. I’m sure there’ll be no shortage of pedophyle perverts in the attendance of Sucker Punch…

On another note, that cast of “Charlies Angels” couldn’t be less interesting. Was there really a clamouring to continue those horrid films?

      • I couldn’t even finish watching the first one, so I didn’t even bother with the second. This new incarnation holds no appeal to me whatsoever.

        • @JacksDrinkingProblem. Charlies angels is going to be a reboot of the t.v series, not a movie, they wouldent cast unknowns for a movie version of charlies angels :)

    • @”I never understand why directors/producers feel the need to unnecessarily put girls in skimpy outfits and sexualized activities.”

      B/c sex sells.

      • Ypu, that simple…give the people (and dirtbags) what they want.

        • Come on, don’t act like you’ve never stared at a girl before.

  4. The Hobbit creams all the other ones. Can. Not. WAIT! >_< But, I will have to. Still I'm glad that they are taking there time with it. I would much rather see a movie that took three years or more to make and be awesome; than one that was rushed *cough* X-Men FC *cough* and end up being a piece of trash. Still…. You never know.

  5. Yep.. I see 13 year old school girls dressed like that all the time. Sure do, standard uniform for private and Charter schools they are…

all those perverted men looking at women in tight skirts, stocking, high heels and bras.. shame on them. Shame, shame, shame.

  6. The last image for Scream 4 shows the aftermath of Hayden Panetierre’s death. Look at her short legs! It could only be her!
