Movie Grab Bag – August 6, 2008

We get busy, we miss stuff. Here are some of the items of note that didn’t get individual posts today…

- Seth Rogen won’t be a fat Green Hornet. (Super Hero Hype)

- Maybe Goonies 2 isn’t on track after all. (Cinematical)

- Kevin Smith’s Porno gets an R rating. (AP)

- Natalie Portman feels bad she hasn’t been in a remake, remedies situation. (Bloody Disgusting)

- Paramount caves in to political correctness on Tropic Thunder. (Movies Online)

- Castle Wolfenstein is not dead. (Sci Fi Wire)

- Lexi Alexander says “Now, if I would have real balls a picture of me mooning the vicious cyber world would follow, but unfortunately I haven’t had time to workout, so it wouldn’t be a pretty sight.” after movie sites rise up saying that it was terrible that she was supposedly fired from Punisher: War Zone. (Lexi Alexander) [If that's really how she feels I hope her damned Punisher movie tanks. Hard. - Vic]

  • I have the Punisher skull tattooed on my leg; it's my first tattoo, made in 1995. I have Iron Man on my forearm. I love comics, but I hate what they sometimes do to the characters when adapting to film.

    If they'd stick more to the comics, the Punisher movies would rock. But Tom Jane did indeed rock as Frank Castle.

    No Andy your not alone, I know stoners that have more talent floating in their bongwater. Sloth Rogen's rise to fame makes me question this reality. :-(
    As in,,, did I slip into a stasis leak or what ?? (I Hate the guy). ;-)

    Heath, I didn't want to say this on the Punisher post, (cause I don't wanna burn the fans and get called names and overheat the spam filter Mark V.7.3) but I really hate Punisher and these types of films.
    We see some horiffic tradgedy that turns our lead into an unstopable killing machine. Punisher even has a skull on his chest (nice touch). Well the story usually devoles into one revenge killing after another leading to what,,, the next tradgedy ? Leading to the next film ,,,?
    uhh gimme an Excedren, boring depressing, homo-erotic gunplay crap.
    Stuff gives me a headache. :-(
    Feel bad for Gale on this one.
  • The Punisher movies are cursed, that's all I can say. The Tom Jane one was fun, but a bit dumb, too.

    I hope you are Andy, I friggin love Seth Rogan and all judd Apatow films. They make character driven comedies as opposed to unsmart random corny stupidity like Will Ferrell and Mike Myers films.

    Am I the only one who saw the grammatical and spelling errors in the Movies Online article? If you're going to write for public viewing, at least make sure you know the difference between "their" and "there," as well as "acception" (Is that even a word?) and "exception." It doesn't lend much credence to the site.

    Also, am I the only person who is REALLY getting tired of Seth Rogen???
