Good cause indeed. My Mum’s been diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer and I’ve been raising money on the site for Macmillan Cancer Care.

I might see if she wants to be a star!

Damn, Richard… I hope your mom is hanging in there. Cancer is a devil of a disease. Bloody insidious scourge.

Thanks Vic. She caught C-Diff in hospital too - the hospital bug that’s been causing an uproar in the UK - so she’s really going through the wars just now.

Spirits high and keeping positive though.

Its really a crime that Stem Cell research is being surpressed.
The cure lies there.

I personally believe that (the powers that be) don’t want a cure for the General population anyway. The medical establishment would loose billions if there was a cure.

790 you need to really do some research before bringing THAT topic up.

1. It’s not being suppressed, just not financed by the gov’t. Private industry can research it to its heart’s content.

2. Nothing has come from embryotic stem cell research AFAIK, but some possible leads have come from ADULT stem cell research.

Well, private industry has found benifits, but most of those companies are out of the US, therefore its not covered by the Us media and you don’t hear about it.

Stem-cells can be grown without using Embryotic material. They can also be put into the body with no counter effects or rejection from the patient.

Its a natural cure that once perfected will extend the lifespan of humans, and cure “most” desease’s

Its easy to see why the medical community and the Government take a stand against it.
They don’t want to upset the status quo of BIG BUSINESS…

Many thanks 790 (don’t mean to hijack the thread Vic) that’s much appreciated. We’re all positive and she’s a fighter.
