Fortunately it sounds as if there is some time for re-writes. Opinions seem unanimous on the nets, so, we can hope that Disney is reading this and takes note. I veto “cyber-surfing” as well.

Yah Ross, looks like we’re stuck with those for now. I remember a while back someone had a much better version online, but guess that was taken down…

I recently saw TRON for the first time, a lot better than I expected, can’t wait for the sequel.

Hmmm, some of that I’m a bit worried about. Especially actual surfing.
Agree that there should be a continuation from the first, although then again I’d expect it to look better, so bound to be quite a difference anyway.

I had a look but all I can see is those lame cell phone recorded versions, with any ones that hint at being the real deal being removed by “the authorities.”

I’ll keep an eye out but it’s looking like we’ll have to wait a few months for the official version.

Does anyone know where to find that Comic Con teaser in good quality? All I find are really crappy cell phone movies, or is that the only way to see it?

Well, a lot has changed since 1982, in terms of the “computer world”, I think. So the look of the film doesn’t necessarily have to be a direct copy of the original. There are tons of opportunities to tell a very nice entertaining story with all the new technology, 17/18 years later. I just hope it won’t be some lame rescue-operation to get Kevin Flynn out of the computer. Like his son goes looking for him, a real wizkid who can write his own software, comes across all kinds of obstacles, finds his father, locked in a cyberprison, in some kind of hypersleep, frees him, runs into mindboggling special effects again, gets out, the end.
I haven’t read the draft, ’cause I also don’t want to spoil it for me, but if it’s anything like this, I’ll be very disappointed.
