Growing up SS was always my favorite character of all time. I thought they did a great job with the story in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Not showing Galactus was a great move, especially reading the reason behind it. I did have one problem though. SS getting his power from his board was extremely lame and should be dropped from any future movie.

What the hell is he on about?

“If I gave up everything in this movie, then that movie wouldn’t have much to go on.”

What is there to give up? Everyone knows what and who Galactus is. How exactly are they going to explain away the huge gas cloud that was surrounding him in F4:2 and the fact the Surfer was able to defeat him with ease without the help of the F4 and that weapon?

The entire point of the Surfer being his herald was because Galactus is a God and hid his world and the Surfer was at his mercy.

How are they going to pertray that in a Surfer film, if we all know he destroys him in the end by just blowing himself up?

That is the biggest load of nonsense I have ever heard. The truth is they had no respect for the material and rushed Galactus in at the end and had no budget left to actually render him correctly or fit him into the storyline properly.

Who else finks that instead of putting the sandman in da movie that they should have put in carnage to go along with venom, this would mean that venom would have to be like he is in the comics nd help him beat carnage.

firrt of all ff2 sucked. it seemed liked it was made for 10 year old kids. i was really really disappointed. and why make a movie out of the surfer? can he carry his own movie franchise? a surfer movie is not like the blade movies, spiderman movies, or even the x-men movies. obviously we’ll have to wait and see on this one.

and as for the studios finding people who actually know just what marvel comics does, the suits could care less. i just read that they are going to make a movie out of the green lantern, and do a horrible injustice to the character by making the movie a comedy, similiar to jim carey’s THE MASK. plus, they are casting jack black to play GL. that’s too stupid. From what i read DC is not happy. but why then would you take your characters and give them to a bunch of movie guys, who only care about making money, instead of the integrity of your character. why do marvel and DC sign these stupid contracts that put themselves in a bind to where they have no say over who is cast to play their characters, and have no say over the type of movie it is going to (drama, action, comedy, etc.)? for DC to made about what warner bros. wants to do with their legendary character leads me to believe that warner bros. must have lied to them some way or another before DC signed the papers.

FF2 was def better than the first, I wouldn’t
say it was a good movie, it was the better ff movie. I would like to see a silver surfer movie
along with galactus in a form of a man like in the
comics. I agree, the watcher and terrax need to be
in the movie. I say if the first ss movie is a hit
it would make sense to bring Thanos as the villian
and he should possess all the infinity gems and
the film should explain what power each gem has and how hes gotten ahold of them.

Another thing I should’ve added in my first post is that the Silver Surfer movie should be split into two segments. The first segment would be pre-FF2, and show his life on Zenn-La. Have Galactus arrive, and have Terrax possibly as his herald (because the Fallen One isn’t that well-known). Have the SS create the board, and use it to beat Terrax. In order to save his world, he becomes the new herald.
The second segment would be post-FF2 to a degree. It would show him at the end of FF2, floating in space. But then he’d meet Uatu the Watcher and SS would fight Thanos, and cool stuff like that.
That way, when FF3 happens, SS can return along with Uatu to assist the FF with whatever problem presents itself (Personally, I’d like to see Annihilus as a possible villain, or a storyline on the Inhumans).
Also, I’d like to see SS w/o the board’s requirement. Maybe the board’s power would eventually become innate.

In the Marvel comic, Galactus was just a cloud when the universe was created. He was a cloud because the way he survived the destruction of the previous universe, he had to modify his body to survive intense gravity and heat, and doing this changed his body completedly when the big bang happened. For eons he just floated around until he landed on a planet where the inhapitants created a suit to contain his vast energies.

This could be in the upcoming SS movie. After being defeated by the SS, Galactus just floated around until landing on an alien planet, where the natives create him a suit of armor to contain his energy. The SS has sensed that Galactus has survived and to save his loved one on Zenn-La, he goes to finish him once and for all.

I liked both FF movies; FF2 was definately better. The SS movie would have to be less light-hearted because he would be brooding over all the lives he helped destroy. I would think that The Watcher would be in the movie also, since he had a great impact in the comic.

FF2 was good, but if the Silver Surfer movie is in continuity with it, maybe the reason Galactus is a cloud will be explained, as well as why the Surfer’s powers come from the board (I thought that was kinda lame, but I guess they needed to give him a weakness). As an extra twist, they should add Terrax as a possible Original Herald, Uatu the Watcher (I thought he should have been in FF2), and maybe Thanos.

You know,I just noticed that toward the end of the film (FF:ROTSS) the shape of Galactus’ helmet is shown several times in a cloudy,firey form. See specifically the part where the Surfer confronts him at the near end of the film.

You know,I really wish they would’ve used the full opening title/credits sequence for ROTSS. Thankfully,they at least put ROTSS’s original main title/opening sequence on disc 2 of the Power Cosmic edition DVD,I just wish they could’ve released it in the theater that way,or at least release the dvd with it put before the rest of the film. They did the same with the first FF (luckily you can catch the original main title on the extended edition DVD),I don’t know why they always feel compelled to cut the main title out of the FF movies,the main title sequence actually helps set the tone for the film. Hopefully if there is an FF3 they won’t cut out the opening credits/main title sequence again.

The parasite or Livewire would be another good idea for a villain for a Superman movie. Bizarro would even be cool!

Umm…how about NO earth scenes in the first SS movie? Why would they do that anyway? Wouldn’t having earth scenes mean that the FF would be involved,and shouldn’t that be saved for like the second or third film? Correct me if I’m wrong,but I don’t think that it’s really necessary to have any scenes with earth at all in the first SS film. If there are any,they should be right at the end,when the Surfer tells Galactus of this planet callled…..earth.

In regards to the whole Superman villain movie thing,Toyman or Mr. Myxyzptlk would be better than another round with Luthor. Especially without his k-suit,I mean if he’s gonna face Supes again,at least let him wear that suit so we don’t feel like it’s the same fight….again!

Kel, I love Sups(one of my favorite characters) and SR is a beautiful film, but as you said before, the film hugely lacked a new villian or new threat. Spacey is a great Luther, but geees Sups’ vault of deadliest villians (Darksied, Doomsday, Brainiac, Metallo, Mongul) are some of the most frightening villians out there and are being ignored. Just adding one of those villians and their chaos/environment would make the next SR epic! On that note SS needs the same.

SS film has to have TONS of outerspace scenes and alien planets, not alot of earth scenes.
I just hope SS and Galactus eventually fight against one of Marvel’s greatest spectacles, Ego: the living planet.

I kinda liked the kid in SR movie. I mean it has not been done before a superhero whith a son (at least in my knowleg). It would hawe been cool if we could get some fighting sceenes with Galactus and SS.( Even if it was some cloud robots).
