It’s way, WAY early but Tim Story, director of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Tim Story said the following regarding the devourer of worlds:
“We decided early on that we would not bring him to life completely as you might think of him in the comics, being a man with the suit and the helmet and everything else,” Story said during his commentary. One of the main reasons is because we always knew that there was going to be a Silver Surfer 1, or they were going to make a spin-off of the Silver Surfer. If I gave up everything in this movie, then that movie wouldn’t have much to go on. Knowing that I wasn’t going to do it that early, I wanted to keep it fairly open to interpretation by the director who would do that one. So the idea of the cloud and everything made pretty good sense to us.”

Kind of nice of him to be so concerned for the next director, don’t ‘cha think?
Right now everything is up in the air due to the possible impending stirkes in Hollywood, but the last I heard, Alex Proyas was set to direct Silver Surfer. I’m a big fan of Proyas and would thoroughly look forward to his vision of the silver dude on the big screen.

Please find someone who knows what a Fantastic Four movie should be.. Which is nothing like the first two. Galactus as a cloud made sense to them? Good God…
firrt of all ff2 sucked. it seemed liked it was made for 10 year old kids. i was really really disappointed. and why make a movie out of the surfer? can he carry his own movie franchise? a surfer movie is not like the blade movies, spiderman movies, or even the x-men movies. obviously we’ll have to wait and see on this one.
and as for the studios finding people who actually know just what marvel comics does, the suits could care less. i just read that they are going to make a movie out of the green lantern, and do a horrible injustice to the character by making the movie a comedy, similiar to jim carey’s THE MASK. plus, they are casting jack black to play GL. that’s too stupid. From what i read DC is not happy. but why then would you take your characters and give them to a bunch of movie guys, who only care about making money, instead of the integrity of your character. why do marvel and DC sign these stupid contracts that put themselves in a bind to where they have no say over who is cast to play their characters, and have no say over the type of movie it is going to (drama, action, comedy, etc.)? for DC to made about what warner bros. wants to do with their legendary character leads me to believe that warner bros. must have lied to them some way or another before DC signed the papers.
Who else finks that instead of putting the sandman in da movie that they should have put in carnage to go along with venom, this would mean that venom would have to be like he is in the comics nd help him beat carnage.

What is there to give up? Everyone knows what and who Galactus is. How exactly are they going to explain away the huge gas cloud that was surrounding him in F4:2 and the fact the Surfer was able to defeat him with ease without the help of the F4 and that weapon?
The entire point of the Surfer being his herald was because Galactus is a God and hid his world and the Surfer was at his mercy.
How are they going to pertray that in a Surfer film, if we all know he destroys him in the end by just blowing himself up?
That is the biggest load of nonsense I have ever heard. The truth is they had no respect for the material and rushed Galactus in at the end and had no budget left to actually render him correctly or fit him into the storyline properly.
Does anyone know if Thanos will appear in The Silver Surfer Movie??? And when is this movie expected to come out?????
Growing up SS was always my favorite character of all time. I thought they did a great job with the story in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Not showing Galactus was a great move, especially reading the reason behind it. I did have one problem though. SS getting his power from his board was extremely lame and should be dropped from any future movie.
