Warning: SPOILERS for Moon Knight episode 2

Marc Spector survived Thanos' snap in Avengers: Infinity War based on Moon Knight episode 2. From the moment Avengers: Infinity War ended, it was clear that Thanos' snap was going to have major repercussions on not only Avengers: Endgame but everything that would follow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the biggest questions it created was who was and was not dusted as part of Thanos' plan to rebalance the universe by eliminating half of all life. While Phase 4 has answered this question for several characters, it is something that looms over every new and returning character.

When it comes to Oscar Isaac's portrayal of Marc Spector/Steven Grant in Moon Knight, the Disney+ series has stood out for the lack of MCU connections it has. Viewers are instead following a self-contained story that unravels the mystery of Marc's disassociative identity disorder and a conflict between the Egyptian gods. That hasn't stopped theories and speculation from popping up about Atlantis Easter eggs or a secret visit to Latveria. Moon Knight episode 2 is similarly sparse with its MCU connections, although it does include a tie to The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. One moment, though, appears to confirm that Marc Spector survived Thanos' snap.

A big portion of Moon Knight episode 2 is dedicated to uncovering who Marc Spector really is, which includes Steven Grant following his storage container. When he is searching through Marc's belongings, he finds a passport for Marc Spector that appears to be quite revealing thanks to its issue date. The passport was created for Marc Spector on December 14, 2018, which would be several months after Thanos' snap took place in Avengers: Infinity War. This detail confirms that he survived the snap and could've been serving Khonshu throughout the five-year time jump in Avengers: Endgame.

Marc Spector Passport in Moon Knight

There is a possibility that the details of Marc's passport are fake, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Later in the episodes, cops working for Moon Knight villain Arthur Harrow come to Steven's apartment to take back Ammit's scarab. When they take Steven instead, they find the passport and appear to use it to look up his history, which results in the police officers calling him an international fugitive. If this was a fake passport for a high-level criminal like Marc, it'd make more sense for him to have a fake name with his fake identity. Since the cops were able to track down his past through the passport, it points to it being legit, along with the issue date.

Marc Spector surviving Thanos' snap in Avengers: Infinity War is an intriguing detail to add to his MCU backstory. It means that he could've been operating in the shadows during the five years when the world was in turmoil. Perhaps this was even the time when Khonshu chose Marc Spector to be his new Avatar, as it'd give him an agent to deliver justice with at a time when chaos ran high. Whether or not Marvel will ever show what Marc Spector was doing during Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame remains to be seen, but knowing that Moon Knight survived Thanos' snap opens up plenty of fun possibilities.
