You know it takes more than a guy with his hands full of gun to impress me, these days, and when its Marky Mark its even harder. ;-)

This looks ripped off, canned, overdone and infantile all in one.
The Punisher/Wanted Reloaded movie. They should just call it that.
Release the stupid video game ty-in and get this over with.
Max payne. Gheesh even the name is stupid. 8-)

Gloria Goodman says:

It looks absolutely great … just what Mark Wahlberg needs… I can’t wait to see it and I know nothing about video games … it’s going to be a big hit …

Roberts the man says:

Mila Kunis is in Max Payne also

FRED says:

Did they have to make something like that, I mean how many movies do you hear about that have a cop/FBI agent/Spy lose a family member(s)/get news that someone close to them has died-swearing a vendetta against the person/mob/gang boss ? It all seems the same, perhaps some depth and intense psycology has to be added-David Fincher should have directed this movie, he knows how to make a dark suspense-filled thriller adaptation of the video game. After all, Max Payne has to feel and make others around him feel pain. I also have an issue with the PG rating and the supernatural element, it just cuts down on the intensity.

Rob says:

umm… Mila Kunis as a fighting girl sidekick = loss.

It would be cool if movies like this actually kinda followed the the games were about.

Has anyone played Max Payne? Because this is not that. Why do they add a girl sidekick fighter, that has nothing to do with the original story…its not a good thing.

In any case, the visuals look pretty amazing, its just that its not Max Payne..kinda like the Doom Film…why take a cool game concept for a movie…then not use it.

I’ll see this but I don’t have much hope for its greatness.

Steven says:

I don’t know, it is either gonna be superb or really bad, can’t really tell from the trailers

Ash Ali says:

I feel like this is too similar to Constantine. But I’ll probably see it.

Typhon says:

Uh Rob, Mila Kunis is playing Mona Sax who, if you played the game, helped Max out and was a major figure in both games. Hell, you even got to play as her for a level or two in the 2nd game.

Rob says:

hey Typhon,

I finished up the first game and I don’t recall her playing much a role, I’ve not completed the second…but she’s playable in that? does she have the bullet time ability too?

In any case, I think the movie should focus on Payne’s origin form the first game and how he becomes who he is, i think the sidekick really weakens the effect of the film. Save her for sequel(s)?

I hear Take-Two is working on Max Payne 3 which may come out next year.

BJ says:

Hmmm…. At least I know that these creatures are like a metaphor and not really killing people. I have some faith not much but some :( :) wont know until i take a chance a see this movie

No Name Face says:

This does not look like the game…
Ok it might be a good movie but i gave up on Holywood a long time ago getting a movie based on a video game right…
(just like us at the Video game Arena do not get good Movie Video game transitions I.E. Transformers Iron Man

Ken J says:

So Typhon, does this mean we finally get to see Mila Kunis naked? Because I didn’t play Mona Sax unless I used that cheat to make her naked… ;-)

Yah, we can only wish right?

But anyway, Kunis doesn’t seem good for the role. I don’t see her being able to pull off the killer bad-ass sidekick role. She does better playing the ditz on That 70’s Show… She’s way too petite and “cute” to be going around shooting people without looking kind of ridiculous…

Roberts the man says:

ken j, mila kunis is sexy lol :)

Tiny says:

Max Payne was a very well liked game. The story line was good, and i enjoyed it very much. The movie looks “fun”. Hitman was a friggin waste but i have high hope for this one. Also who cares in Mila Kunis plays as Sax. Give the woman a chance. Everybody though Heath Ledger was gonna suck as the joker and look what happend

Allen says:

I have played both Max Payne games. I would like to state, what made Max Payne so wonderful, was, honestly the Language that was used, the way the story was told, the game play was great, but not to much different than most of the games that was out about that time. If the Director and actors can somewhat mimic that style of speach, i think you will have a box office smash movie. I am certainly excited to see it.

Tiny says:

I noticed that in the trailer they show the rag-na-rock club with the red lettering billboard on top of the roof. I think that is cool cause that’s how it looked in the game. kudos on detail. Also check out the movie website, the small graphic novel that Marc Wahlberg narrates is pretty sweet. I can’t wait till the 17th

Tom Swinnen says:

Hm. The more I look at every new trailer, the more I’m beginning to think this COULD be a good movie. At first I was very disappointed, thinking it looked like it had nothing of the modern “film-noir” story style the game had. But, I guess I could be wrong. Just have to wait and see.
