After 7 years, 8 seasons and 123 episodes, Adrian Monk is finally going to close the case which started it all: who is behind the death of his beloved wife, Trudy. With the case also goes the series, Monk, but now is not the time to lament over what will be, as there are still two phobia-inducing episodes left. At least now we have a promo to go with it and possibly some clues as to who’s behind it the crime.
The penultimate episode, titled “Mr. Monk and the End” comes with a description so short that there’s no chance of giving anything away.
Monk is called to a crime at the location where he first heard the news of his wife’s murder and begins the most important investigation of his life.
Although, what the description doesn’t tell you is that this episode also includes more guest stars than an episode of Fantasy Island. Some familiar faces you can expect to see will be:
Mr. Starship Trooper himself, Casper Van Dien.
The reason why I now have to drink Pinot Noir, Virginia Madsen.
The always energy efficient, Ed Begley Jr.
Head coach of the Minnesota State University Screaming Eagles, Craig T. Nelson.
As with any Trudy-centric episode, you can also expect to see Mrs. Jan Levinson-Gould, Melora Hardin, as face of Monk’s deceased wife.

While this promo is almost as short as the description, it still gives fans a sense of what to expect from this episode. It appears as if those behind Trudy’s death are back with Adrian in their target sights and from the scene in the doctor’s office, it seems as if they’ve succeeded.

As any series comes to an end, fans always hope to have all their questions answered. While Monk might not have as many mysteries as Lost, there are still enough that I will go away upset if some are not answered.
