I agree with you TBD. Anyone can draw a circle and pass it off as a design. From the minimalist posters I have seen, from Albert Exergian to designsomethin I have only seen a few of them that really made me go, Oh wow. To each his own?

Yeah, I'm really not keen on most of those either! My problem with this design style (and it is a style) is that it's come about as a direct result of software which now means that any drugged ape with a computer can churn this stuff out till the cows come home. Don't get me wrong, I think the Heroes and 24 posters above are fair enough, but when you see the guy in the link you provided using the exact same imagery for his Lord Of The Rings effort, and then you see that it's ALREADY BEEN USED as a LOTR book cover...

http://images.harpercollins.co.uk/hcwebimages/h...

...then something's gone a bit weird, in my opinion. It's ironic that the Bauhaus/Deco stylings these people invariably copy - the era of streamlining and geometric forms being used in the design of everything from advertising to architecture; modernity stripped of all ornamentation - mean they adopt a method that looks more faceless, machinelike and mass-produced than any Stalinist propaganda poster.
