[UPDATE: Check out the first real look at Mickey Rourke as Whiplash in Iron Man 2.]
Latino Review recently posted a pic of what many are speculating is concept art of the armor Mickey Rourke will don in Iron Man 2 to become the whip-wielding villain known as Whiplash.
Just so we’re clear: no one from the Iron Man 2 production has yet confirmed that this pic is in any way the official armor design for Rourke’s Whiplash character, but we thought you’d like to have a look at it anyway, just for fun:

Is this Mickey Rourke’s Iron Man 2 armor?
Not a bad design, but without a helmet to complete the picture, it’s really kind of meh… I’m going to go ahead and guess that this is either some VERY early official concept art of Whiplash, if not an outright fan-made pic.
Just to keep the good times rolling, I’d thought I’d show you two more Whiplash costume designs: the first is the Whiplash armor from the Iron Man Armored Adventures cartoon series that currently airs on the NickToons Network. The other is a pic of the Whiplash character that recently appeared in various Marvel comic books.
Again: these two pics are just for comparison. Neither one is in any way related to Iron Man 2.

i cant Belive MARVEL went thru with that Abortion of a show, and by abortion i mean Iron-man:Armored adventures.

I really like that sketch suit, as a personal taste for me, it looks like a homemade Mach 1 without all the additional shielding.
I’m already “in” for this movie, and as so long as Marvel is working closely with production, that’s where I’ll remain.
My intuition tells me that is fake… I haven’t often seen concept art where the real actor’s face is depicted.
But, if this is official, it looks/feels like we’re going to see the masked character unmasked at some point (as with Iron Man at the end of the first film).
Definitely not possible to be the REAL one. Maybe some early concept art. The one from Armored Adventures looks cool anyways, but probably wouldn’t work for the film

Looks like he’s playing the “red guy” in Tron. It does beat the leather outfit…
The fact that Paramount hasn’t contacted Latino Review asking them to pull down the pic makes me think it’s a fake. A couple of years ago I posted up concept drawings of the Mark III armor and Paramount came down on me like a ton of bricks because it turned it to be authentic.

Still, I love the armor adventures design the best, but the movie one make me just grin. It looks mechanical and feels realistic, I could amost see a laser whip coming out of the engine on the back or a whip powered by electriy

I’m not crazy about Whiplash being the villain in this one, but whatever, I guess.
Wait, has it actually been confirmed that Whiplash is the villian? I thought the lines were still blurry on whether its Crymson Dynamo or Whiplash.
Seeing all the pics above, it appears to be concept art for the cartoon imho.

Really hope they do somethin in the lines of a cyborb style Whiplash design like IM:Armor Adventures. That design is an excellent take on modernizing Whiplash not the GOD awful 80’s/90’s design. that design also just enough different from being an Omega Red copy.
It’s GOTTA be fake. That suit looks like the pack would weigh it down and make fighting in it tough. I like the armor adventures design, THAT is cool.
Can whiplash fly or shoot missiles? otherwise it would be no contest against ironman…

I was surprised to see this pop up in my Google Reader.
Screenrant isn’t usually known for posting “rumored” or “un-official” material for a film. It’s so early on for this film that anything that doesn’t come from Jon Favreau’s ACTUAL Twitter account, I take as rumored or fake.
Anyway, I am not meaning to sound negative in anyway, just sharing my opinion.
iron man 2? is this one actually gonna have a bad guy?
