Michael Jackson… you have to “feel Michael Jackson”. It is nothing to understand. If you feel, you have all, if you don’t – you have nothing.

What normal civilised people would do is to go their favorite artist site, not to go to the one they don’t like. Like me, I love Michael Jackson, not Britney Spears, so I go to the site that spelled MICHAEL JACKSON, not BRITNEY SPEARS or TAYLOR SWIFT…Do you even know the difference in the spelling? Michael jackson surely does not sound like Britney Spears or Taylor Swift…

You must be very, very and really, really ignorant about MJ’s music!!!…or u must be paid to say all those thing about MJ!!!…u are the ‘Ghost of jealousy’!… Look around you! the MJ hype is phenomenal all over the world!…call it ‘Genius’ or not, he must have had done something really, really right!!!..

So who do you consider “Genius”? I mean not speaking for all but i’ve always considered michael one for everything that is michael (things you mentioned he didn’t do,arrange,etc). Most to all of those things were pretty much meant only for him and had someone else done it in my opinion it wouldn’t have looked as good as when mj did it. Why? MJ gave it all in each performance… i remember him coming out in a wheelchair to perform “Remember the Time”. Now to cut this short(because we can debate this all night but i tend to get on people’s bad side) this is only my opinion on MJ and how i see him, you could question my musical knowledge all you want but at the end of the day its what i see and not what some music guru believes.

What DOES bother me is the incredible amount of hyperbole regarding MJ’s talent. He was a great pop artist. One with a very troubled life and with some serious moral issues.

And last I checked, this forum wasn’t just for people who AGREE.

Every once in a while, the “lovers” need to understand why the “haters” (and I don’t consider myself a “hater” per se, but one who has a more realistic view of MJ’s worth) do so.

As for laughing, I tend to laugh when I hear people with little to no musical knowledge spout “genius! genius!” about their favourite pop artist.

It’s a serious word, but gets overused and becomes banal in its overuse.

MJ was a great pop artist, sang and co-wrote a lot of memorable popular tunes. And I dare say some of his music videos (for which he was not responsible) were quite entertaining.

None of that brands him a “genius”.

Don’t you think it’s a valid point of view to take? To actually DISCUSS the merits of calling someone a “genius”? There are so many other musicians out there who are more deserving of the monicker “genius” than Michael Jackson.

And in case Kanye West reads this forum as well, yeah, Mr. West is also undeserving of the term. You don’t get to call YOURSELF a genius, you douche. (sorry, K.West just grates on my nerves)

I, personally, couldn’t give a rat’s ass about this concert film. I may not mind hearing a tune of MJ’s on the radio while in the car, or a doctor’s waiting room, or over the Grocery store speaker system, but I sure won’t be BUYING any CD of his. It’s not Mozart. it’s not “great music”. It’s just pop music for god’s sake. I get bored with it in about 45 seconds.

MJ was good at what he did, I gotta give him that.

But calling him a “genius” is melodramatic hyperbole. Remove the costumes, which he didn’t design. Remove the musical arrangements which he didn’t do. Remove everything for which MJ was not responsible. How much of what’s left is truly meritorious of the term “genius”?

I couple of teaspoons of “reality” here would be de rigueure.
