Why does every giant robot have to be considered a transformer!?! Hell, the one in Terminator doesn’t even transform!! or talk I think. And Terminator has been out much longer than Transformers. This argument is as stupid as the whole ‘Batman’ suing Batman. I also want to know how that went.

Actually James Cameron wasn’t even slightly involved with T4, he’s come out as say he hasn’t read the script and doesn’t know much about the movie beyond what we do and what Sam Worthington’s told him and he believes it could go either way, but he hasn’t been involved in it at all.

And how exactly did they copy Kojima’s idea?

The new terminator salvation trailer actually does look better than the transformers one. Bay should stop making sequels they always fail except 4 of course terminator 2. Don’t get me wrong Terminator 3 was really a disappointment to me manly because james camron didn’t direct it. Terminator 4 will be what I wanted terminator 3 to been like. James camron was involved with t4. I hope bay should consider making a Metal Gear Solid movie because t4 and transformers copied Kojima’s idea!

You know, I don’t even remember any of those. I only saw the movie once and I guess I must not have been very entertained because I have already forgotten most of everything about the movie except for a few cool scenes like the scene with the A-10 Hogs…

Adam, I personally enjoyed a lot of the humour except the following which were horrid, not funny, awkward and helped ruin the film:

-Masturbation scene
-Sharing Seatbelt scene in Bumblebee
-Shia showing his muscles in car
-Stupid cop on drugs

I don’t know who’s responsible for writing those scenes, but they aren’t funny, they don’t fit and they take away the movie from the 10 years and younger audience who should otherwise be able to watch this.

Oh THAT’s what you guys are talking about? My mind was a total blank on that, but yes, that scene was just awkward for the sake of being awkward. I mean, maybe if I was watching a sex comedy like… oh I don’t know, American Pie, it’d be hilarious because of the context. But in Transformers it was just way out of place. I have no kids so I wasn’t embarrassed when it came up (even when it came to viewing this movie with my parents), but it really wasn’t needed.

It was rated PG-13 for a reason. Not exactly Spider-Man or Fantastic Four.

Instead, a pretty kick @$$ movie and I’m sure the sequel will follow. Give them Hell Michael Bay.

I’m with you. That reference in the film was totally uncalled for in a movie that parents would be bringing under 10 year olds to. I mean seriously, give me a freaking break. I *hated* that scene (among many other things in the film).

good point Bill,

There was no need for Transformers to have the retarded and non-funny sexual references – that ruins it for young ones who should be able to see it otherwise as its just machines smashing each other.

As for T3, I found no enjoyment in that – Transformers at least gave me some cool eye candy and epic music behind it. But you’re spot on in that we need massive improvement in both franchises this time around.

I frankly hated “Transformers.” To me, Bay took what started as a kids franchise and turned it into something I wasn’t comfortable taking my kids to see.

The biggest challenge facing both the Transformers and Terminator sequels isn’t in the effects. Frankly, I suspect both will be just fine, and all the fuss over this T4 copying Transformers nonsense is nothing but publicity stunt. Frankly, I’d like to see both of these films work off of a decent script for a change. At least T1 and T2 had a script with some depth to it. Transformers definitely lacked that, and T3 was pretty rough, too (but still better than Transformers).

I didn’t take Transformers that seriously, the effects were awesome but most of the movie was pretty goofy with too much silliness and Shea L. in it.
T4 is definitely gonna be way better than Transformers.

Here are my predictions:
Transformers will dominate the box office and bring in the cash, whereas T4 for will the more talked about than the other, which will lead to a more dominant control of the DVD sales. In short Transformers will dominate the theatre, but T4 will terminate (sorry, couldn’t resist) in DVD sales.

You know, first off I am a supporter of Bay, He is good at what he does. I think he gets a lot flack when he does not need to, like The Joker said in TDK, “When you are good a something, never do it for free.” which is exactly what Bay does, He blows Crap up in mindless action.And he is really good at it.
Having said that, T4 will be better than ROTF bceuase, hopefully, it will have more substance, more human devlopment, I am even willing to overlook the ridiculos Terminator models in this one, they really should have stuck with the model we are familiar with for thsi first one and then in the second and third in the trilogy, introduce newer models. Too Much too Soon.
I for one enjoyed Transformers, though I do wish they would have delved more into the Transformers mythyos and History, rather than the 2 minute recap we got. I also enjoyed the action sequences. I look forward to the second one and hope that the dialogue is a bit more devloped than the constant “No, No, NO, NO, NOOOOO!” every two minutes in the first one.
