Apparently you are not G1 transformers fans, Nimoy did a voice over in the G1 Transformers the Movie (Galvetron) so this isn’t exactly a new concept to be mulled over

Shows the level of focus they have in bringing the Transformers to life when the people paid to voice them get rushed in at the end for less money.
Although I’m sure proper voice actors would jump at the chance. I really wish they’d get more work, and not stars who cost more and achieve less.

In saying that, Nimoy would be cool.
Get him to say ‘Here’s a hint’ and then blow something up!

I was excited at the idea of Nimoy voicing one of the Transmorphers, then hamlet3k reminded me I was excited to hear Hugo Weaving, too. And we know how that turned out.

Now I couldn’t care less.

hamlet3k gotta agree with ya. The voices really don’t matter. More than likely you wont even notice the voices or you will have to strain to hear them.

Also it should be noted no matter who does the voices it’s still gonna be a sequal to a craptastic film. So really who cares?

I love Leonard Nimoy and I love his voice, so I don’t want to sound entirely too negative, but… who gives a damn who’s going to voice any of the robots? Bay and his sound designer are just going to over-process it until it’s indistinguishable from any other robot voice.

I was disappointed when I learned Frank Welker wasn’t going to voice Megatron in the first movie… until I read that Hugo Weaving got the job. And I went right back to being disappointed when I actually HEARD the voice and thought, “wow, that sounds exactly like Starscream and Barricade and… is Beachcomber in this? because he probably sounds like Beachcomber too.” Bay may as well have just used the scratch track voices in the final the way Pixar does occasionally. That’s budget-conscious filmmaking right there.

My thought is if you want to hire good actors to be voices in your movie, let more of their performance shine through the “awesome” grunge effect your sound designer stumbled upon in Garage Band.

maybe “the fallen” isnt gonna have much screen time, so maybe thats why.
