Actor Michael B. Jordan started to gain attention over a decade ago in 2002, back when he played drug-dealing teenager Wallace on HBO's acclaimed cult TV series The Wire; by comparison, Jordan's That Awkward Moment costar (and fellow 27-year old actor) Miles Teller's career has only started to gain traction over the past few years, beginning with his supporting roles in films like the indie drama Rabbit Hole, the Footloose remake and the no-holds-barred teen raunch found-footage movie Project X.

The pair are heavily rumored (but not yet confirmed) to play the Human Torch and Mr. Fantastic, respectively, in 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four cinematic reboot that Jordan's Chronicle director Josh Trank will begin filming this year for a 2015 release date. Meanwhile, it would appear that the actor duo have already begun making plans to potentially reunite onscreen together for a third time after F4, as they've become attached to co-headline an upcoming (and currently-untitled) heist movie.

The Wrap describes this new Jordan/Teller project as being "in the vein of fun capers like WB’s own 'Ocean's 11'," though additional plot details have yet to be uncovered. In addition, Awkward Moment director Tom Gormican is lined up to helm the film, with the list of producers currently attached including Scott Aversano - who produced Awkward Moment as well as movies like School of Rock, The Last Airbender and Safe House - along with Rat Entertainment heads Brett Ratner and John Cheng (who just finished producing Horrible Bosses 2).

Awkward Moment should ultimately be a profitable venture (since it "only" cost $8 million to make), though between its $22 million worldwide take and most critics giving it the cold shoulder, it's not what you would call an unconditional success. Nonetheless, Jordan and Teller's performances are generally considered highlights of the film, so its general under-performance shouldn't have a noticeable slowdown effect on its leads' rising starmeters.

Indeed, besides the fact that a superhero movie franchise appears to lie in both Jordan and Teller's immediate future, Teller will also costar in the upcoming young adult novel adaptation Divergent - with author Veronica Roth's entire Divergent book trilogy possibly headed to the big screen afterwards - while Jordan is attached to headline the developing Rocky franchise spinoff Creed (where he would play Apollo Creed's grandson) down the line.

Similarly, now that Gormican has cleared his first hurdle as a feature director (without falling completely on his face), he's in a decent position to improve on his next outing at the helm. A talented cast is a key ingredient in the formula for a successful Hollywood caper/heist adventure (be it Ocean's 11, Tower Heist, and so on...), which is something that Gormican's new project has already begun to assemble together.
