Take this one with a huge grain of salt.
There’s been virtually no movement that I know of on the Metal Gear Solid movie of late – but today someone sent me a picture they say they took at Sony Pictures in Culver City, CA this weekend of what looks like a movie poster for Metal Gear Solid.
And that’s not the craziest part…

The pic below shows a July 2011 opening date… and it features Christian Bale & Daniel Craig. I’ve included the original pic and a “tweaked” version to make things more clear.

What looks like metal sparks from a welding torch are actually reflections from surrounding lights and are not part of the poster.
I guess we’ll know soon enough if this is real if I get an email asking me to pull it.
What do you think… Craig and Bale in Metal Gear Solid? Have we gotten owned or could this be the real thing?

Cool….I really didn’t like the games that much, but if Bale is in it then that at least peeks my interest.
I’m thinking we can go beyond a pinch of salt. I think we need a mountain. Not that this wouldn’t be awesome, though am I the only one that thinks David Hayter should actually be playing Snake? Or maybe Arin Hanson, I guess, lol

I am pretty sure the image of Bale is from The Prestige..the image of Craig I can’t nail down because I haven’t seen a lot of his films..Layer Cake maybe..
I pray this isnt true… why Bale? He doesnt deserve to be snake (of course im basing Craig/Bale casting choices purely on hair color or Liquid/Solid) but still am I the only one who thinks Bale is a bit second rate as an action hero??
David Hayter should defintly play snake, not only does his voice define the character he also looks the part

Bale looks like he did when in the Machinist, but could be Prestige. Certainly feel like seen that picture before.
Also hasn’t he enough to do saving Gotham and humanity?
If true, would be great though. Both really good actors.

It was taken by Larsen and Talbert for USA today–and was part of a photoshoot Christian did with Christopher Nolan in 2008 to promote The Dark Knight.

Umm I think it’s fake , but I think your thinking of the wrong movie Greenknight. That is not from the Prestige that’s not what Bale looked like in the movie.

I wish.. MGS has a great story with definitive characters. I think they could make it great: Snake battling Raven, Silent Wolf, Revolver, and the rest of Fox Hound with a final battle against the Metal Gear Rex/Liquid? Could be one of the first great video game movies.

Firstly, this poster is obviously an amateur fan creation. (”Hideo Kojima” is massive letters? Riiight.)
Secondly, the sparks are PART of the poster (notice how they go behind the crappy looking Metal Gear Solid logo).
Thirdly, the image is just a composite of freely available images in the internet.

Finally, it’s just REALLY amateurish. There’s no way the final MGS movie poster will look ANYTHING like this.

Looks like a concept poster used to pitch the story, this idea has been going around for years and Bale has always been interested to be the lead actor.
we got owned, the main lights on the room would also have a grainy effect on the ambient light of the room this was taken, specially if it was a telephone camera.

I agree with Sean. Bale would get top billing.
But this is a very lame poster, real or fake. And last I checked executive producers don’t their names slapped right on the top of the poster, even if they’re the guys who made the source material.
Ugh. Please keep Bale out of MGS, thank you very much. What about Hugh Jackman? He’s one of the few I can think of that could pull it off.

Talk about Bale overload, he’s an amazing action start but holy cow. July 2011, wouldn’t that conflict with the Batman 3 filming? Cause if they are both coming out at the same time, wouldn’t they be filming at the same time?

Shamose mediocre at best? That’s suggesting that he could be a bad actor. That’s just idiotic. Whatever if someone thinks he is just average, but suggesting that he is bellow mediocre is just dumb.
2011 doesn’t conflict with the next Batman. The next film is delayed because Nolan is working on something else that he wanted to do. Also they don’t even really have a director for the third film since Nolan hasn’t decided yet.

I hope its real just so I know that it’s actually being made. Notice how Bale isn’t wearing a bandana…..well, maybe he will wear one later in the movie IF it’s real. I dont really mind it, but it would be stupid to not have him wear one. heck, Prince of Persia film already has footage released and people had no clue, so…..

I really love Christian Bale and his works.
He is a best method actor in his gen.
Dedicated his art, hard working, so down to earth.
IMO he should be a best choice for snake but i prefer him
independent movie like ‘Machinist’or ‘Harsh times’etc.

its a movie pitch shown to movie execs what this film would be like. the poster is real, but its still just a mock-up.
