The Wonder Woman movie is a project that has been in-development for years and years now. It has been off and on since way back in 2005 (at least), until earlier this year when it was reported that Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures were trying to get the project moved along (finally), looking for a good spec script and the “right” director to bring the female superhero to the big-screen.

Hollywood hottie-of-the-minute Megan Fox has ben rumored to play Wonder Woman in the movie version, and this was only further sparked when a fan-made image of her in the outfit made its way online (shown above and below). However, like the rumors of her taking over from Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, Fox has denied speculation that she would play Wonder Woman.

But if you’re thinking she might want to do it if asked… not only does she deny she’s been approached, but she flat-out disses the character and the idea of a movie featuring her:

“Wonder Woman is a lame superhero… She flies around in her invisible jet and her weaponry is a lasso that makes you tell the truth. I just don’t get it. Somebody has a big challenge on their hands whoever takes that role but I don’t want to do it.”

Wow, Fox certainly doesn’t shy away from saying what she thinks. Not only does it appear that she doesn’t like the character, but that she doesn’t “get” her…. Having said that, I have to say I’m kind of in agreement with her. I won’t go as far to say the character is “lame,” but as superheroes go, I don’t think she’d be the first one I’d set up as my next tentpole movie project (although, perhaps that isn’t fair to say since this has been a project in-development for years, even before other superhero movies were made).

Also, I’m not sure if a Wonder Woman movie would do all that well at the box office. It certainly wouldn’t tank, but I don’t think it would be the smash success that films like The Dark Knight and Iron Man were (I think more along the lines of The Incredible Hulk). On the other hand we ARE talking about Megan Fox in a low cut top and short skirt, bounding about and flying through the air…

Sadly, as it has been for a while now, there is no official news yet as to which creative direction the Wonder Woman movie will go – with neither a writer nor director in tow – but at least we know now who most likely will not be donning that outfit.

What do you think of Megan Fox’s comments about Wonder Woman? Since she most likely won’t play the character, who do you think should play her instead?

Yep, I don’t find Megan Fox believable either.

I know the majority of the people you would ask will think AJ is believable. For one, most guys are all googly-eyed for her and will say they will believe anything, and second, unless your group of friends happen to be like my group of friends, I’m not sure if you know what would be “realistic” in terms of firearms anyhow. Watch Wanted, when she’s firing that handgun she can barely hold it steady, much less be a super marksman with it…

We haven’t had a believable female badass protagonist since Ripley of Aliens and Sarah of Terminator 2. Watch the way Sarah Connor handled her weapons and you see the difference. Filmed in 1990 and she’s using the proper MODERN grip while most others are still using the 80′s style hollywood grips today.

  2. So all A.J. needs is the right trainers in the use of fire arms right.

  3. She also has to change her attitude and her physical fitness. Part of the reason why she looks so unnatural is because she doesn’t have the strength to hold something that actually weighs something without straining and you can see that straining in the form of wobbling or sagging. But mainly it’s her attitude, she just always acts like some bimbo that relies on her physical attractiveness more so than actual acting… Works for some roles, but not for the female protagonist in an action role in my opinion… well unless you’re a horny 15 year-old then it doesn’t matter…

  4. well she works with what she’s got. you can’t blame her. and i haven’t seen her in a role where it’s not mandatory for her to act that way yet, so maybe this could be her break through movie.

  5. wonder woman is like the sex symbol od DC comics. of course she needs to be flaunty

  6. Please tell me in which role does Angelina act as a ‘bimbo’?

  7. Oh none at all, she’s always such a smart and respectable character that never seems to rely on her looks to drive the movie. She doesn’t make out with her brother either…

    [/sarcasm]

lol just messing with you, I’ll IMDB her and copy and paste all of her movies later, too lazy now, haha. ;-)

  8. angelina as wonder woman- nah. megan fox- hell yes

  9. Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie would both make terrible Wonder Womans! Megan Fox is too skinny, slutty and doesnt look like WW and she cant act. Jolie is too old and will make a much better Catwoman than WW. The best choice I saw for WW was Megan Gale who was supposed to play the part in the JL Movie until WB decided to cancel it. Megan Gale looked the part but she wasnt perfect either. DC and WB will have to cast an unknown to make this work.

  10. Wow, yea, Megan Gale would make a good WW. Like Julissa said she’s not perfect but she physically fits the part better than AJ or Fox.

  11. Definitely better than Fox or Jolie…

  12. I’m not getting something here; do we want a woman who looks good in the outfit or an actress that looks good in the outfit? There is a huge distinction between the two. If we just want a woman who looks good in the outfit, I say get a Maxim model. If we want an actress, neither one of the women mentioned above would be good choices; Fox does not act very well and Jolie doesn’t fit the build of an Amazonian woman (I would say Fox doesn’t either). I’d say find an unknown who fits the physical characteristics and can act.

  13. If Halle Berry can Play storm in x-men at 39 at the time. Angelia can play W.W. at Age 34, and last i remember 34 is not old,How old are some of you on here were 34 is old. Please dont tell me i am on her with a bunch of 16 year olds. Then that would explain why everyone thinks she is old.Angelina is the best choice.

  14. I don’t think Megan Fox will be the right choice tp perform Wonder Woman she’s not that kind of actress to fill the role of an Amazonian Warrior/Hero.

  15. I don’t think Megan Fox will be perfect to portray the role of Wonder Woman I don’t think she’ll fill in that kind of part performing the role of an Amazonian Warrior is not that kind of role for that kind of an actress.

  16. Ok ok I just look up Megan Gale i will say I like her i hope she can act.I am on board with this one.Does anyone Notice how These three ladies look Similar A.J.,M.F.,M.G.All of which are W.W. PICKS.funny to me.Angelina does have the height build she looks fantasic in just about every thing she wears.SHE HAS THE BUILD PEOPLE.

  17. I hated AJ in Tomb Raider. She got the character all wrong. She was cocky and arragant, when she should have been confident and intelligent. Don’t want her to ruin another hero type.

  18. Megan Fox Wonder Woman

  19. Megan Fox Wonder Woman and Jessica Biel Hawkgirl !!!!!

  20. Wonder Girl maybe, but not Wonder Woman…

  21. Megan FoxMegan FoxMegan FoxMegan FoxMegan FoxMegan FoxMegan FoxMegan FoxMegan Fox

  22. MEGAN FOX is gonna need ten inch heels to be an AMAZON.If people doubt A.Jolies ablility to act see the changling.Angelina Jolie role as Lora Croft is dead on,and her ability to hold and fire guns is perfect. Seems like some people are not seeing the capability she actually has.

  23. @gregory

“Angelina Jolie role as Lora Croft is dead on.” Obviously you’ve never played the game cause you have no idea what you’re talking about.

  24. If she’s the one she is the one but I don’t think she’ll be the perfect actress to perform Wonder Woman.

  25. I think Katie Holmes would make a perfect Wonder Woman – she’s the living image of Linda Carter (Original WW). As for AJ vs MF for Lara Croft… I think they should’ve gone with the british actress on whom Croft was originally based…. Rhona Mitra. Check her out on IMDb if you haven’t heard of her

  26. Please don’t cast Holmes in ANY comic book film…especially after her performance in “Batman Begins”….even Nolan couldn’t make her believable.

  27. I agree, Katie Holmes was TERRIBLE in Batman Begins. Even before the whole negativity thing spring out about her and cruise I thought she was not believable as Rachel Dawes in the film. maggie Gillinghal did a GREAT job though…Unfortunatelt she is nowhere near as attractive as Katie Holmes (with long hair of course) butt hey you gotta take teh good with the bad.
Katie Holmes should not EVER have the lead in a film, especially a superhero flick.

Wonderwoman is a TERRIBLE idea and would tank, no guy is going to watch a superhero movie about a woman, did anyone see catwoman? nope, and i know i didnt.

Megan Fox is hot but she is not believable as well and her acting is less than par

  28. Maggie cantspellherlastname wasn’t that good in TDK, but it wasn’t her fault. She’s a good actress, but she was trying to act like Katie Holmes, and you can tell a lot of the times that she was trying to imitate Holme’s portrayal of Dawes in the movie, and that limited her ability in my opinion. She should have just made the role her own and it would have been great. Forget Holmes…

  29. Megan Fox is a ditz. Plain and simple. Eye candy is not a reason to cast someone in a role. An actress with the balance of intelligence, screen presence, some height (which could be done with camera angles anyway) and beauty should be important. Other than that, I disagree that guys wouldn’t see it b/c it’s a female hero. Honestly, only a fool would focus on the invisible plane and lasso. There is a much bigger picture involved in the story behind Wonder Woman and what she represents as a character… Independence, Confidence, Power, Respect and Dignity… qualities that feminism is all about… and Fox is NOT. Go play with yourselves, Fox lovers… but I’d rather see a REAL woman on screen!
