Megan Fox: ‘Wonder Woman Is A Lame Superhero’

The Wonder Woman movie is a project that has been in-development for years and years now. It has been off and on since way back in 2005 (at least), until earlier this year when it was reported that Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures were trying to get the project moved along (finally), looking for a good spec script and the “right” director to bring the female superhero to the big-screen.

Hollywood hottie-of-the-minute Megan Fox has ben rumored to play Wonder Woman in the movie version, and this was only further sparked when a fan-made image of her in the outfit made its way online (shown above and below). However, like the rumors of her taking over from Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, Fox has denied speculation that she would play Wonder Woman.

But if you’re thinking she might want to do it if asked… not only does she deny she’s been approached, but she flat-out disses the character and the idea of a movie featuring her:

“Wonder Woman is a lame superhero… She flies around in her invisible jet and her weaponry is a lasso that makes you tell the truth. I just don’t get it. Somebody has a big challenge on their hands whoever takes that role but I don’t want to do it.”

Wow, Fox certainly doesn’t shy away from saying what she thinks. Not only does it appear that she doesn’t like the character, but that she doesn’t “get” her…. Having said that, I have to say I’m kind of in agreement with her. I won’t go as far to say the character is “lame,” but as superheroes go, I don’t think she’d be the first one I’d set up as my next tentpole movie project (although, perhaps that isn’t fair to say since this has been a project in-development for years, even before other superhero movies were made).

Also, I’m not sure if a Wonder Woman movie would do all that well at the box office. It certainly wouldn’t tank, but I don’t think it would be the smash success that films like The Dark Knight and Iron Man were (I think more along the lines of The Incredible Hulk). On the other hand we ARE talking about Megan Fox in a low cut top and short skirt, bounding about and flying through the air…

Sadly, as it has been for a while now, there is no official news yet as to which creative direction the Wonder Woman movie will go – with neither a writer nor director in tow – but at least we know now who most likely will not be donning that outfit.

    In this Wonder Woman movie, I think it will be possible for Lynda Carter playing a cameo instead of playing Wonder Woman's mother Queen Hippolyte and my suggestions on supporting actresses who can play Queen Hippolyte of Themysciria will be Cate Blanchett, Emma Thompson, Cher, and Linda Firontenio. Linda Firontenio was screen tested to play Lois Lane from Superman Lives before the movie was abanded by Tim Burton. I think Cate Blanchett from "Lord of the Rings" and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" can make an awesome role playing Princess Diana's mother "The Queen of the Amazons" in this Wonder Woman Live action film.

    Paul Walker can make an awesome role playing Wonder Woman's boyfriend Steve Trevor and I remember in the story Major Steve Trevor was crashed in the ocean and Princess Diana came and rescued him. And also the villains in the movie I like to see is Ares (The God of War) who takes revenge against the Amazons and I think Hugh Laurie, Hugo Weaving, Daniel Craig, Tim Curry, and Chris Isaaks can make a great villain to play Ares (The God of War).

    I hope DC hurry the movie cause fans are getting tired! Lots of people said the costume is too ridiculous and I remind them Superman, man in tights with his unerwear over it! Also Spiderman is too customy! I thinks that the producers should have in mind that her outfit is not a swimsuit but an armor. In one chapter of Justice League Unlimited she paid a visit to the man who made the armor who is the one that made armors and weapons to the Gods and he told her that every armor has a weakness and he wont reveal them and asked her how she feel if he reveals hers? If they accomplish that her outfit looks cool enough like a metalic armor it would be awesome and the only weak spot wolud be cover.

    Ok one problem with Angelina Jolie is that currently, she is too old for the role. Her face would be perfect other wise. Jessica Biel would do great. But what it needs is the best director and a good actor..I guess you could take an unknown..or like a famous person who hasn't acted before to give them sort of a new image. But they need to act well and the movie needs great effects. Megan Fox would be a bad choice and would most likely would make the movie flop. Sure she is pretty but looks aren't everything. I don't know if she can handle a role such as WW because so many people expect an amazing movie since we have been waiting for awhile. Someone needs to save this movie from failing like the other female superhero movies.
  • This movie has been kicked around and kicked around, developed, not developed etc. etc. When rumors first started flying about the movie Joanie "Chyna" Laulier-(sp?) was mentioned early and oft to play WW. I even heard once that they even though about casting body builder/part time wrestler/bouncer Nicole Bass as WW. You know who I would like to see play WW body builder and former Ms. Olympia Cory Everson, I kinda thought she did a fair job in "Double Impact" as the bi-loving heavy, she gave Van Damne a run for his money! And to it sounds nuts, but what about someone like say a Kiana Tom as WW? She did a fair job in Universal Soldier 2. Maybe ole Dave is off his proverbial rocker, but to me WW should be a little older, have some maturity under her lasso. This role is, for me any way, over someone the likes of Meagan Fox or even Angelina Jolie. I'd like to see someone with some curvy yet bulky meat on there bones to play Wonder Woman whatta you guys think????

    She is an awesome Transformers Babe plus her role on another DC Comics Comic Book Character that Cowboy with a horrible face Jonah Hex which she plays as the leading lady of Jonah Hex, I think she can manage a little.

    I think Megan fox remembers the 70's Wonder Women. I do agree that she is too small to play the part. As for what she has said....You would need someone who can act to play this part.Come on...She puts down all the movies she has ever been in.

    Lauren Graham! Of the Gilmore Girls fame. Her looks are spot-on. Also, she is in her forties, which would be ideal to convey the characters authority and strength.

    There's no way Megan Fox could be cast as such an influential superhero. No matter the comments about Wonder Woman's powers, she has definately become an icon among women everywhere. The perfect woman needs to be cast in this role, someone who can relate to everyone and promote the awesome, inspiring image of Wonder Woman. Meaning that whoever they do cast needs to be an amazing actress, kind and georgeous to boot. No need to fret. There's no way Fox could fit the calibur this role is going to require.

    If Fox has watched the Lynda Carter 70s versian of Wonder Woman. I agree That Wonder Woman was lame! The whole stand by your man theme made me sick! I only hope the producers of the show stay away from that mentality. Who ever is the next Wonder Woman is, She should be tall, At least 5'10", No munchkins will work for this role.

    Wonder Woman a lame superheroe? The only lame thing is Megan's commentary. I don't know all the hype about thi girl. Certainly she is cute and hot but she doesn't have the acting chops to carry a character like Wonder Woman. Neither the class, she is way too much overly sexual and trashy to portray a regal, immortal princess/goddess. Lame? She shows she doesn't know Wonder Woman story and the greatness she means. Although her creator's purpose was to create a hero who would win over evil with her heart not her fist he unintentionally created the greatest heroine of all history. She can overpower any heroe and is a good match for Superman. And even better she doesn't have a waekness like krytonite. If you have seen the Justice League last seasons she was powerful, yet graceful. In one chapter she fight with Superman and give him a hard time (and some bruises!). The end of season 2 where they were betrayed and captured by Hawkgirl and the tanagarias she was the one who free the other Justice League member. Superman wasn't able because he was under a red sun and was powerless, she doesn't. And in the end of season 4 when the bad guys had all the Justice League heroines under control trough their comlinks she battle 4 of her colleagues and they were frighten because she was too powerful. When Huntress ask if they have a plan, Hawkgirl answer: "to stay alive" and in some point of the battle when she got rid of the 4 (Black Canary, Hunterss, Hawgirl and Raven) they exclaimed; "we're getting cream here". So, Megan Wonder Woman is a great, complex character with one of the riches backgrounds of DC history. With your comments you just demonstrate your ignorance. You are not tall enough, classy enough less smart enough to portray the greatest female action hero ever! Please producers made the movie quick and select someone like Rhona Mitra, Kate Beckinsale, Charlize Theron, Milla Jovovich or even Megan Gale. But not this child who would never fill the shoes Lynda Carter once wore! NEVER!

    Angelina Jolie nor Megan Fox would be ideal candidates. As you recall, Wonder Woman is an Amazon so you would need someone with, at least, some muscles. Both Jolie and Fox are to skinny, with no muscles whatsoever. It would also be great if they would cast someone who can actually act.

    What? A lot of people say Superman Returns sucked, lol. And Megan Fox can't act, so even IF she looked the part (which she doesn't) I wouldn't want her skanky ass playing WW anyway... :-D But still Ultraviolet, come on... lol

    Jajaja Ken J! I thinks that more cruel is a post that propose Megan Trashy Fox as Wonder Woman! She doesn't have the height, the pressence or the talent to portray Wonder Woman. Ultraviolet wasn't a great movie but neither was Superman Returns and nobody said anything. Why? Because a man star it and was directed by beloved Brian Singer? Well, he made good on X Men but Superman Returns was awful! I prefer Ultraviolet any day over Superman Returns. But you got my point that is see Milla with black hair and establish the ressemblance to WW! I think Milla, Charlize, Kate or Rhona Mitra would be a good Wonder Woman! But Megan? Just thinking about it sounds like a joke!

    I know your intention is just so we can see her with dark hair, but did you really just say to see Ultraviolet?? At least give a warning or something, don't be cruel, someone might actually go rent it and waste their time and money watching that crap! lol

    Megan Fox looks too trashy for my taste! Nothing against her that her style and she has a gorgoeus face but she is too overly sexual just like Angelina Jolie. Wonder Woman should be play by someone who can portray her royal pressence as well as her pure heart and be naive around a new world. I insist Kate Beckinsale is a good candidate but don't forget Charlize Theron (see Aeonflux) of Milla Jovovich (see Ultraviolet with dark hair!!!).

    If I had to choose someone to play Wonder Woman I would have to say Kate Beckinsale. She was awsome in the Underworld movies and does great in action scenes. Also she does have the sexy side to her too.

    Megan Fox!! She is too short and doesn't have a Royal pressence! Is something she looks to sexual like Angelina, WW should be naive, remember she is discovering a new world. Jessica Biel for me looks to hot mama to play the part as Jessica Alba ( She already is Susan in I4).My ideal Wonder Woman would be Kate Beckingsale, Milla Jovovich or Charlize Theron, all are good in action movies, are tall and are goood actresses. If none of them I say go with an unknown, there are a lot of ex-misses tall with blue eyes which are aspiring actresses. Maybe there are a couple ones who can act. If one is blonde, no problem dye her hair. Not Lynda Carter or Christopher Reeve were famous before their big chance. And finally, cast Lynda Carter as Hyppolita! Is the right thing to do and she has earned it!

    Megan Fox while having the Gorgeous face and "Wonder-Womanesque" Light-Eyes and Raven Black Amazon Hair, is Still Too "Young Teen Girl Looking" to play an Amazon WOMAN/Goddess!...While Fox,Jolie and Biel are all Delicious specimens, not one of them would be or could be Wonder Woman.
    No Matter how much they'd try. I still believe a 300-type movie with an unknown older (late 20's, even early 30's type) of undiscovered Actress is what the new Wonder Woman flick needs. Some undiscovered Gorgeous Amazon of an actress with some athletic background (Preferably with more meat on her than Fox or Jolie!) and filmed like a 300 or Troy film, that would rule all.

    Megan seems too much like a booth babe you see at conventions like E3 or Comic Con...she looks good in outfits(especially in that pic, but thats all.

    Megan, oh megan... ever hear of these cliches, "Never look a gift horse in the mouth", "Don't burn your bridges", "flash in the pan" - Any good writer can take the lamest of heroes and make a great story. And it may be so with Wonder Woman. this is a classic DC comic and deserves respect, and Megan isn't half the woman Lynda Carter is.

    Honestly we might as well look towards a calendar girl or a playmate model for the final selection cuz honestly it would be easier and cheaper, making it ultimately more enticing for hollywood to make the movie
