Aurora says:

she’s just being honest?

there’s a difference between being honest and…not having much idea of what you’re talking about.

anyway, she’s too short for the role.

Ken J says:

LOL @ that last line Aurora.

Thanks for being HONEST about it. ;-)

Daniel F says:

She knows what she is talking about at least when it comes to Wonder Woman.

I think she is very Hot Ken, but I agree not that hottest. I’m a huge Jessica Alba fan and for some odd reason despite not even knowing her I’m in love with Jennifer Love Hewitt lol.

Ken J says:

Jennifer Love Hewitt APPEARS to be a sweet girl, by her demeanor, she actually smiles and doesn’t try her hardest to maintain a “look at how hot I am” look like Megan Fox does. Jessica Alba, eh, same thing with Fox, good looking but can’t act to save her life. Then again, not sure if Jennifer Love Hewitt can act either, lol, can’t remember the last movie I’ve seen her in…

You know, I can’t really think of any young actress that is popular and can act really. Maybe Natalie Portman although she picks dumb roles sometimes, but she can act at least.

That Zoe Saldana from Star Trek, I’ve only seen her in Star Trek and she did a decent enough job, but can’t really tell if she’s a great actress, but the more pictures I see of her, oh my, she is one of the prettiest actresses I can remember right now…

I know I remember watching some movies and thinking to myself how beautiful the actress in that movie is, but can’t think of what they are right now…

Daniel F says:

I actually strongly disagree I think Jessica Alba is probably the best actress of this younger generation. I think she has done fantastic even in the not so great movies that she has been in. While she wasn’t the right person for the part I think she did the best that could be expected from that script in Fantastic Four. I thought she was fantastic in Sin City and on Dark Angel despite not being a big fan of the show. I think she has made poor career choices, but always puts on a good performance.

Ken J says:

I guess different people have a different perception of how real people act… *shrugs*

Daniel F says:

I think your more hung up on Alba’s role choices and not at all noticing her actual performance. I agree the films she have done have been stinkers aside from Sin City, but she never did a bad performance.

Ken J says:

Um… no, I’m looking at her peformances, even in Sin City… but yah, only opinions so…

Phil says:

Well, I was only basing my impressions on that fan-made poster of Megan Fox as Wonder Woman. She looked perfect there. But if you guys say she’s too short and has no acting talent, ok then :P

Like I said though, they should probably shelve this project until somebody comes along who could actually pull the role off.

Daniel F says:

I have little to no interest in Wonder Woman. I never liked the comics I hated her in Justice League and all the Wonder Woman Centric episodes of JLU were my least fave’s except the one with her and Batman when she gets turned in to a pig that episode was awesome. The only way I would of seen a Wonder Woman film was if it was being made by Joss Wheadon, but that ball was dropped already.

Phil says:

There’s a lot of bad stuff with Wonder Woman in it out there no doubt. However I recommend Greg Potter and George Perez’s run on Wonder Woman volume 2, as well as the Wonder Woman: Hiketeia one-shot where she had to deal with hiding a fugitive who had entrusted her safety to her from Batman.

I’ll be the first to admit though that there have been many writers who simply didn’t know what to do with the character.

Still, I’d much prefer a movie of Wonder Woman over a movie about a bubble-gum character :P

Phil says:

Also, I have one main interest: Ares of Wonder Woman comics is one of my favorite supervillains visually – at least as drawn by George Perez.

I’d LOVE to see them forge an armor similar to the comics for the Ares of the Wonder Woman movie. He’d be the best God of War you’ve ever seen in any movie.

Marvel’s Ares was lame-looking in comparison. Heh.

If a movie costs $100MM+ to produce it sure as hell had BETTER be a “smash hit,” at least for the studio’s sake.

Phil says:

@ John “Kahless” Taylor

You mentioned that you have no idea how Wonder Woman flied without her invisible plane.

I grabbed my copy of Wonder Woman v2 #1 out of the boxes to refresh my memory. At the time of Diana’s birth, six Greek gods gave her special abilities, so she’s basically like the female version of Captain Marvel of Shazam fame except she doesn’t have to say a magic word to gain her powers.

Demeter: gave her power and strength
Aphrodite: gave her great beauty and a loving heart
Athena: gave her wisdom
Artemis: gave her the eye of the hunter and unity with beasts
Hestia: gave her sisterhood with fire that it may open men’s hearts to her
HERMES: gave her speed and the power of flight.

If they build this Wonder Woman movie around the Greek myths that Potter and Perez did in their version, there’s no reason why the movie wouldn’t be intriguing.

Olympus, Themyscira, the Amazons, and the Greek gods, would all provide pretty stunning visuals.

And Wonder Woman doesn’t necessarily have to wear that costume the entire movie. She can be garbed as an Amazon warrior as well.

The costume itself is meant to represent a symbol of hope to man. Not unlike how Superman’s own costume does. She doesn’t really wear it until she comes to America.

Phil says:

In fact, it’s really not that different from the Mighty Thor movie in their possibilities.

The main difference: Thor represents the “macho” Norse gods, whereas Wonder Woman is the product of considerably more benevolent goddesses and gods of Greek mythology (at least as envisioned by DC) and is also an ambassador of peace. Apollo and Hermes are frequent allies of WW as well.

@ken j

its Zoe Saldaña… with a ” ñ “… only quoting her… she hates it when they don’t write it correctly. She said that in this hispanic program once… and in the Dominican Republic where she’s from…like me(smiles). I am surprised with how much you like her though… not many people know of her and most people think she’s black (Like almost all Dominican actors in the business now a days). For example Alfonso Ribiero from the fresh prince of bel-air… “Carlton” is Dominican not black… shocking right… i know. Anyways its cool though that Dominicans are getting better roles and not so many of the stereotypical baseball roles or Dominicans that sell drugs in Miami or New York.

On regards to what Megan said… not sure about Wonder Woman being lame… the animated movie was pretty good actually and they could always change the outfit. I don’t want Megan to do it anyways… she is too short and doesn’t have enough body. She’s attractive to me but only because of her tattoos, if she didn’t have them she’d just be another “hills-like” person that i wouldn’t care for. Not judging her personality just her looks… i don’t know her.

I would love to see the movie though… her just kicking some serious ass… pounding on mythical beasts and other super-villains. As long as they don’t make it look like charlie’s angels i’m good.

Future Boy says:

Daniel F: lol she didn’t piss me off. I don’t know much about Wonder Woman, and clearly neither does she. Its simply wise to refrain from ignorant statements, which apparantly she can’t do. Megan Fox is sooo 2008.

paulie says:

Dam 77 comments already. The more I read about this chicks straight forward attitude the more I like her.

Daniel F says:

I’ll tell you what for it to even have a chance they need to avoid the invisible jet, and being sculpted from clay for sure. Those are two of the worst parts of Diana’s origin.

angela says:

Umm…Zoe Saldana IS Black. She plays Black characters. There are black Dominicans, you do realize that? Alfonso Ribiero is a black Dominican. Black is a race, Dominican is the nationality. Its like saying Michelle Yeoh is not Asian, she’s Han Chinese. Gina Torres is a black Cuban, so is Christina Milian.

Its so amazing that to this day, so many afro-latinos refuse to acknowledge the African blood that runs through them.

Phil says:

The invisible jet probably can be omitted out easily, as I agree, it is a corny aspect of her legacy.

Being sculpted from clay, however, I don’t think is too corny. It’d make her story seem quite mythological in nature which fits in with the rest of her background.

Matt Keith says:

Bill Blume,

And your comment had NOTHING to say to about this either.

Daniel F says:

I think the sculpted from clay part is just as ludicrous as the invisible jet if not more. I don’t see the general movie going audience accepting that especially since some comic writers couldn’t even accept it and changed it.

jago says:

@angela

i don’t refuse to acknowledge that at no point whatsoever… if anything i’ve always been pro afro-latino and i would always stop to correct people that confuse me otherwise…all’s i’m saying is that when hollywood or people in general talk about dominicans they make it seem like all we do is play baseball or sell drugs and/or listen to bachata while drinking presidente or brugal. The whole black part of it that bothers me is that in hollywood and people in general they only acknowledge the black part and hide the Dominican part of it. I was in school in the Dominican Republic for a very large part of my life so i don’t need you and/or wikipedia to tell me what i am and know already.

I’m not saying that it should be one or the other but both… yes she takes Black roles… not Black Dominican roles. Not saying that they should be those type of roles but just telling you that she’s not playing that…

oh and btw… “I AM A BLACK DOMINICAN”!!!

angela says:

Oh okay, I see what you mean. I guess I got a little overtly defensive. :) I’m from the Caribbean too and there is a lot of colorism in our islands, as you know.

Daniel F says:

Jago is it or is it not called acting? So your saying that British people should only play British roles? So yea white people have to play white and black people have to play black people (Unless your RDJ), but now Dominican’s have to be Dominican and what else? Do all Germans have to play Germans? Are you pissed that an American kid was cast in Star Trek as some one of another nationality? At the end of the day your nationality is where you live. Don’t some of these people currently live in America ?

CyNurse says:

How about Odette Yustman as Wonder Woman? The Unborn wasn’t much of a movie but I think Odette can look the part.

jago says:

@Daniel f
no at no point did i say that… i was just making it clear that she wasn’t doing a “Black Dominican” role… i could care less if an alien acted as a human… just like you said its acting i was just making something clear.

Daniel F says:

Sorry if I misunderstood I thought that’s what your were complaining about.

jago says:

@daniel f

but i will say that it does seem that it bothered you about the one kid in star trek…
