The Wonder Woman movie is a project that has been in-development for years and years now. It has been off and on since way back in 2005 (at least), until earlier this year when it was reported that Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures were trying to get the project moved along (finally), looking for a good spec script and the “right” director to bring the female superhero to the big-screen.

Hollywood hottie-of-the-minute Megan Fox has ben rumored to play Wonder Woman in the movie version, and this was only further sparked when a fan-made image of her in the outfit made its way online (shown above and below). However, like the rumors of her taking over from Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, Fox has denied speculation that she would play Wonder Woman.
But if you’re thinking she might want to do it if asked… not only does she deny she’s been approached, but she flat-out disses the character and the idea of a movie featuring her:
“Wonder Woman is a lame superhero… She flies around in her invisible jet and her weaponry is a lasso that makes you tell the truth. I just don’t get it. Somebody has a big challenge on their hands whoever takes that role but I don’t want to do it.”
Wow, Fox certainly doesn’t shy away from saying what she thinks. Not only does it appear that she doesn’t like the character, but that she doesn’t “get” her…. Having said that, I have to say I’m kind of in agreement with her. I won’t go as far to say the character is “lame,” but as superheroes go, I don’t think she’d be the first one I’d set up as my next tentpole movie project (although, perhaps that isn’t fair to say since this has been a project in-development for years, even before other superhero movies were made).
Also, I’m not sure if a Wonder Woman movie would do all that well at the box office. It certainly wouldn’t tank, but I don’t think it would be the smash success that films like The Dark Knight and Iron Man were (I think more along the lines of The Incredible Hulk). On the other hand we ARE talking about Megan Fox in a low cut top and short skirt, bounding about and flying through the air…
Sadly, as it has been for a while now, there is no official news yet as to which creative direction the Wonder Woman movie will go – with neither a writer nor director in tow – but at least we know now who most likely will not be donning that outfit.
What do you think of Megan Fox’s comments about Wonder Woman? Since she most likely won’t play the character, who do you think should play her instead?

It’s ok, I think Megan Fox is a lame actress, so…
And this is good news for fans of the character, because this means it’s one bad actress that will definitely not be playing her, so you still have a chance of someone who actually knows how to act, so good luck fans.
Daniel F, if she had said black people or women were “dirty” would you be praising her for her honesty? I doubt it. This woman is rather sexist at best and a misandrist at worst.
Anyway, she’s right about Wonder Woman though, she is rather lame, but in the right hands just about anything can work. Take a cute little cheerleader who slays vampires by night – sucked in the movie, worked in the series. It all depends who gets the part, so as long as it isn’t Fox I’ll go watch it just to see if they pull it off.
Let me clarify the above – the quality of the movie depends on who writes and directs it, not on whether or not Fox gets the part, that determines only whether or not i watch it. As i recall Whedon didnt have control in the movie, but he did in the series, so it depends on who is at the creative helm. Thats what i meant.
Not even close to a fair example Michael. I’m sorry, but dissing a dull cheesy character like Wonder Woman isn’t the same as making racist comments. Also I would praise her honesty, but condemn her racism. Even though it’s still terrible an honest racist is better than a closet one only by a small margin.
I love all of the people who are so star struck by this “Hollywood hottie-of-the-minute” (which is so accurate BTW, more so “of-the-minute” than anything else) that they would just believe anything she says. If she would have said “I would love to play Wonder Woman, she’s such a symbol of female strength” you fanboys would be like “oh, Megan Fox would be so fitting for the role. she’s so HAWTX0rZ oh she’s so perfect…” blah blah blah it’s pretty funny. She says WW is lame, the fanboys say it’s lame, lol.
Ooh, she’s so honest about her arrogance and air-headedness. If only she was REALLY honest and know she can’t act her way out of a wet paper bag and drop out of acting and maybe get into something more on her acting level, like pr0n, then I’ll commend her for her honesty.
@ Daniel F
Ever since it was said she would be great in the role I have hated the idea; Regardless of whatever she spouted off in some interview.
See my comment above!
Sorry that was aimed at Ken J
Well, I’m just talking about the people who are all gaga about her to the point that they can’t tell just how horrible of an actress she is, lol.
Hope your not refering to me Ken. Personally I don’t like her as an actress. I simply respect that she is honest. I think she’s hot, but I don’t really know much about her acting ability. Only thing I saw her in was Transformers which was absolute crap.
@Daniel F
Michael was referring to her comment about men being “dirty,” not Wonder Woman being a lame character.
Vic
And OMG, if a film isn’t going to to be a smash at the box office, let’s not do it. Geeeeez.
No one should really want a film that’s made for the sole purpose of being another franchise or a reboot designed to milk more cash and extend an existing franchise (Star Trek). The wrong people are brought in to “re-envision” and are trusted simply because they are the flavor of the moment (JJ Abrams).
A film needs to come from the heart or not be made at all. The initial idea needs to be fresh and/or great respect and homage should be demonstrated.
I almost agree with you McCoy. I’m not a fan of JJ Abrams and I disagreed with bringing him in to reinvision something just because he was popular however the Star Trek movie was actually good.
@ Ken J
I know what you’re saying about Fox fans.
But, people such as yourself, who dismiss her as nothing more than a “Hollywood hottie-of-the-minute” are just as bad.
She barely started her movie career. She was in some good movies where she was at least decent. There’s room for growth and room for improvement.
You’re again taking the extreme side. Throwing insults.
Why not give her a chance?
Um, because she’s arrogant enough to where she herself says how hot she is and how the only times she is turned down for roles is because she’s “too beautiful” for the role, and now she’s putting down a character that’s obviously in the process of pre-production. If she seemed like a good person, I would cut her a lot of slack. McG is a pretty bad director, I give him slack because he seems humble and nobody hypes him up like he’s the next jesus christ…
Umm I’m not all anti Megan Fox ogb, but seriously what good movies has she been in? I just went to her IMDB page and seriously she has nothing good. The Johna Hex Movie might be good I hope so because I like the character, but seriously everything so far has sucked.
She basically got started in the business without any training,
So, I am going to reserve judgment on her future work.
Nothing against Megan Fox, but you have to play to your strengths. She’s not a lead. Neither is Halle Berry and we don’t want another Catwoman do we?
I kind of agree Gary. On one hand she is new to it all and it’s unfair to judge her based on the crap she has done so far, but on the other hand her career should be judged on all of her work not just the good stuff. When Hex comes out that’s when I’ll really decide how I feel about her, but at the same time I will never forget that she did Transformers.
@ Daniel
“How to Lose Friends & Alienate People” was a pretty decent movie and she did well in it. She was also good in Transformers. Those two movies were at least average if not way better (or at least enjoyable)
@ Ken J
I don’t know where you’re getting this info and how do you know she’s a bad person. Based on a few lines out of an interview. You’re so quick to judge people. No one knows. She hasn’t been in the public eye for that long either. I don’t understand how you, someone who knows very little about her and probably nothing about her true self, can bestow such harsh judgments upon her.
I am neutral about her. I’m willing to give her a chance. I do think she’s super hot and I can separate SUPER HOT from BEING ABLE TO ACT.
Sorry Transformers was terrible just straight up garbage. How to Lose friends was watchable at best the guys behind that movie are way over rated luckily they mostly have a cult following. I will say I agree with you about judging her as a person though. We really don’t know much about her I say the same thing to people who bash actors for no other reason than the fact that they are in the spot light and your not.
I’m just amused that no one has pointed this out yet:
The article is all about Megan Fox dissing on Wonder Woman, and the very first comment had *nothing* to say but how hot Fox looked in the Wonder Woman costume.
I just think that’s hilarious.
@ Daniel
We should leave the “Transformers debate” out of it (we don’t want another 200 comment thread)…but I would never dismiss that movie as “straight up garbage”.
Anyway. All I’m saying is give her a chance. I don’t understand when people jump to conclusions about her that are very harsh based on nothing more than her short movie career, her looks and a few lines taken out of a whole interview.
Trying to keep peace.
Can we at least all agree that she is super hot?
That girl needs a better publicist. She has the right to her opinion, hell I think Wonder Woman is lame too…but a lot of fans wanted her to play WW; so imagine how crushed they might feel to hear her respond to that with a dis/bashing.
Wouldn’t a “I’m flattered so many people want me to play Wonder Woman, but the character does nothing for me.” suffice?
Daniel F, like Vic said, i was comparing the racism thing to these statements…
“…men are so dirty that I’d never want to sleep with a girl who had slept with a man.”
and…
“I’m so suspicious of boys-slash-men. I just don’t like them or trust them”
For your edification, here is the view of my favorite swine on this matter…

Yes, i’m starting to think wires have gotten crossed here- Vic, myself and perhaps futureboy were referring to her anti-male comments not to her comments on Blunder, er, Wonder Woman.
Speaking of Joss Whedon ( of Buffy)he at one point seemed to want to do this and Charisma Carpenter kept dropping hints that she might be wonderful (sorry) in the role, and i agree – she would be a good pick.
Never really understood it when she said that to be honest since she has been with boys/men hell she was with Brian Austin Green.
She would’a been completely wrong about for the role, having virtually no acting skills & the wrong body type. If they do make a WW movie, they should go with an talented, lesser-known actress who’s willing to go all “Million Dollar Baby” for the role. That way they’re not shoehorning somebody in who looks right for the role, but can’t act worth shiat. Think more Liev Schreiber, less Tyler Mane. Sure, Liev looked like a short, chubby schlub next to Hugh Jackman’s roided up nakedness, but he came across far better than the stoic, one-dimensional Sabretooth from the first X-Men film.
Normally I would agree with you Iron Patriot, but Sabertooth didn’t really require all that much acting talent and isn’t really that emotionally complex as a character. I actually preferred Tylar Main as Sabertooth because he looked the part. Liev Is a fantastic actor, but wasn’t at all needed for his role. Even with him as Sabertooth they didn’t give him anything to show off his acting chops because at the end of the day it was still Sabertooth.
About her being “super hot,” maybe I’m just the wrong person to ask that because I know several women in real life that are way hotter than her and they are all super sweet and modest and would never utter a line about how they are so hot and beautiful. If you tell them they are good looking they will probably blush, not respond with “I know.”
So maybe my standards are a little high, because I factor attitudes as well as physical looks when I see someone. Meaning a super sweet average girl will look better in my eyes than a bitchy stuck up hot girl. But that’s not really the point, I actually do know girls in real life who are my close friends who are hotter than her just physically. Their sweet personalities are just the icing on the cake.
And in terms of Hollywood, she’s pretty, but not the “hottest” girl by far. To me Zoe Saldana is more my type
