I agree with you about SOAP, I too fell for the hype that was building on the internet, and was disappointed at best. I think difference between these too films is who is building the hype. The studios built up SOAP as this big action film that would be crazy over-the-top madness not the fans.

With MSvGO, the hype is the other way around. The studios didn’t waste money on overpaid big name actors, apologies to Lamas and Gibson, released the movie straight to DVD then took the extra money they saved and used it on SFX instead.

Then they did a very humble trailer release 14 days before the movie was to release and the “B” movie fans grabbed it and held on like, well, a shark. Check IMDB, the movie is up in popularity by 99% this week! I’m pretty sure there is no other movie, DVD or theater, being released soon that can say that.

@Paul, “My Name Is Bruce” is really good, I did enjoy it. But then again, that is because he directed it and had his input. The other films, daily paycheck right?

This movie looks like that dumb Snakes on a Plane trash. I too got caught up with that hype only to ask myself why the hell did I spend my work money on this piece of trash. Audience for everything I guess.
