Spider-Man has had a number of film franchises come and go over the years, but for many people, the most beloved version is the MCU's take on the classic character. Marvel got to play around with one of their most famous heroes who got to join the other Avengers while also having his own adventures.

Tom Holland is set to return for the third solo film which is set up to be a game-changing adventure for the young hero. As with any franchise, there are ways this next movie could improve on the franchise while there are also those perfect elements that Marvel should just keep the same.

Improve: The Shadow Of Iron Man

Given that Iron Man helped to bring Peter Parker and Spider-Man into the MCU, it makes sense that he has played an important role in Spidey's solo adventures. Spider-Man: Homecoming saw Peter trying to prove himself to Tony while Spider-Man: Far From Home had him dealing with Tony's death.

As heart-warming as their relationship has been, it's time for Spider-Man to move out from under Iron Man's shadow. The third film should allow Spider-Man to be his own hero and remove the influence of Iron Man.

Keep The Same: Within The MCU

The MCU has been built into such a large and rich universe. Sometimes, the most entertaining aspects of the movies are just seeing how all these films and characters connect in a variety of ways.

The Spider-Man movies have been the best at making it feel like we are inside this world of superheroes with small, entertaining details. Seeing Cap doing high school PSA, an inflight movie about the history of Wakanda, and student play "F, Marry, Kill" with members of the Avengers are all small things that make the MCU feel bigger.

Improve: Too Many Gadgets

When Tony meets Peter, he is just a kid who fights street crime in his pajamas. Tony helps Peter step up to the next level by outfitting him with a brand-new suit filled with a variety of gadgets. With each new adventure, Peter gets a new feature to his suit from the Noir suit to the Iron Spider.

While the various suits are cool, it would be nice if the next film went back to basics a little bit. Allow Peter to have his regular suit with only his web-shooters and spidey-sense to rely on.

Keep The Same: Inexperienced Hero

While it's obviously great to have an iconic hero like Spider-Man in the MCU, he also brings an interesting new dynamic. Peter is the first teenage superhero in the MCU and his young outlook on world-saving adventures is a lot of fun.

Peter's youth also means that he is not a mature or experiences hero which adds more interesting layers. He makes mistakes and stupid decisions all the time, and the fans get to see him grow as a hero. Hopefully, those flaws are included in the new film.

Improve: Aunt May

Aunt May closes a door while smiling in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Instead of going to the traditional depiction of Aunt May as a kind and elderly woman, the new Spider-Man movies gave the character a fun update. Played by Marisa Tomei, this Aunt May is a somewhat goofy and loving aunt who happens to be very attractive.

However, the movies have not given May nearly enough to do in these films. This is meant to be a very important relationship in Peter's life and it is mostly brushed aside. The third film should work at developing her character and giving her some moments to shine.

Keep The Same: New Villains

Spider-Man has some of the best villains of any superhero around. The MCU has used some of his oldest villains like Vulture and Mysterio to great effect so far. While it would be interesting to see their take on Doctor Octopus or Green Goblin, hopefully, the third film sticks to giving fans a villain they've never seen on the big screen.

There are still so many fun bad guys who could appear. One specific character fans have been hoping for is Kraven the Hunter who seems like the perfect fit for the third film.

Improve: Smaller Stories

Tom Holland as Spider-Man in Far From Home

Spider-Man is known as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man but the MCU has stretched that idea quite a bit. His exploits with the Avengers have led him to Germany and even space. His solo films also find him traveling outside of his New York neighborhood.

While it's interesting to see the character in new environments, the third film should keep the story centered on the Big Apple and focusing on a more personal story as it feels like it suits the character.

Keep The Same: The Humor

Peter Parker in Spider-Man Far From Home

The MCU has always done such a great job injecting some wonderful humor into their movies. While it can be a nice tension-reliever in some of the films, the Spider-Man movies fully embrace this and feel like complete comedies.

Given the high school setting and the young vibe, the comedic tone feels right. With Peter's life thrown upside down leading to the third film, it could be tempting to make things a bit darker, but they should resist that impulse and keep it fun.

Improve: Avenger Partners

Sometimes the MCU feels the need to use other characters to help introduce new heroes to the universe. Spider-Man seems like a character who needs no introduction, but he hasn't had much opportunity to fly solo.

After being introduced in Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man was joined by the likes of Iron Man and Nick Fury in his solo adventures. While their involvement was low-key, the third film should allow Spider-Man to be on his own without anyone to help him.

Keep The Same: The Teen Romance

Peter Parker and MJ talk

Romance has always been a little hit-or-miss in the MCU. When it is done poorly it can feel forced and unnecessary, but when it's done well it can add a lot of charm and emotion to the story. Spider-Man: Far From Home delivered perhaps the best MCU romance yet.

The relationship between Peter and MJ is so sweet and feels so authentic despite being in the midst of superhero madness. The awkward teen approach works so well. While they are together at the end of the second film, hopefully, this dynamic is kept alive for the next movie.
