Maze Runner: The Death Cure gets its first trailer. The threequel from the Maze Runner movie franchise based on the thriller novels written by James Dashner is looking to close out strong with the return of Dylan O'Brien's lead character Thomas and the rest of the surviving Gladers as they try to all come out of dangerous maze once and for all. However, it does not seem like it is going to be a walk in the park for the team as the ruthless World in Catastrophe: Killzone Department (W.C.K.D.) continue to foil their hopes of survival.

On top of minding their own lives, the Gladers also have some other matters to attend to including saving their own,  Minho (Ki Hong Lee). You may recall that by the end of Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, Teresa (Kaya Scodelario) did the unimaginable and ratted out her and the team's location to W.C.K.D. This resulted into an intense face-off that could have ended badly for our heroes. Fortunately, due to their wit and determination, they were able to escape the villainous team but not without some trade-ins. Meanwhile, a bigger, arguably more serious task at hand also factors in after they have discovered a deadly epidemic that has already killed millions of people over the world. The responsibility to find the cure for the fatal outbreak and save the rest of humanity lies in their hands.

In light of its nearing release, a slew of promotional stills from the film has been released with the promise that the first trailer will be arriving soon. Now, 20th  Century Fox has kept its word, treating us with our first look at the Wes Ball-directed sci-fi action adventure movie that will wrap up the fan-favorite movie franchise.

Coming in at just a little bit over a minute, The clip sees the return of our favorite heroes back together, but it appears that the weight of the task at hand is too much for the team to handle and cracks within are starting to show up. While we're not sure if it's out of frustration or if Thomas is still pissed off at Teresa for betraying them, it appears that the two will have a heated conversation regarding finding the cure for the deadly epidemic. Towards the end, although it has been a group effort thus far, it seems that the fate of his friends and the whole world will still solely lie in Thomas' hands.

The third installment in the Maze Runner saga suffered some major setbacks following the on-set mishap involving O’Brien earlier last year. Not much has been divulged regarding the accident but the young actor was reportedly filming a vehicular stunt for the movie in Vancouver, Canada when it happened. The injuries were presumed to be non-life-threatening but production was still halted to give the Teen Wolf star ample time to recuperate. This has resulted in the film pushing its release date from February 2017 to 2018 with shooting only resuming this March in Cape Town, South Africa.
