Exciting news for fans of LOST!

This Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Anaheim, CA, LOST cast members are going to be making a public appearance at Disney’s D23 Convention; additionally some really fantastic pieces of LOST history are going to be on display- including Kate’s toy plane, Hurley’s winning lottery ticket, Locke’s hunting knife, Sawyer’s letter and many other surprises! These items will be on view Thursday September 10 through Sunday, September 13, the entire weekend of D23, and will be up for auction after the series finale in May of 2010.

Makes sense and don’t see it as a shocker. After Lost is over, it will be hard to produce a role that will be worthy, unless he waits 10 years like he did after he left the first time.

It seems like a lack of appreciation. It’s like he did television shows just as a stepping stone to movies.

I’m not saying that it shouldn’t happen, but it shouldn’t have been like “part of the plan” as if he was simply “using” the very people who gave him a chance. Most people who get starring roles in big shows that lasts seem to express a kind of love or attachment to that show. He just seems too eager to get away from them. I wonder if he didn’t have a good experience with the cast and crew…

My favorite shows have to be Rome and Stargate SG-1. And if you ever see any interviews with any of those stars, Ray Stevenson, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, etc. You never get the sense that they are just waiting for their big break to get out of it. But it just happens to some of them, Ray Stevenson, for instance, which was in that flop Punisher Warzone (too bad since he was actually quite good, everyone else sucked though), and now he’s going to be in this movie with Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman, Book of Eli. So it seems that maybe Rome was a stepping stone for him, but it didn’t seem like that was his intention, he probably would be happy to keep doing Rome or any other qualtiy tv series. He’s said it himself that Titus Pullo is very special to him and that he loves playing that character, so he can’t wait to fill those shoes again in the upcoming Rome movie, I can’t wait either…

Anyway, good luck to Fox, but something tells me that with that attitude, he might end up failing in this endeavor…

I don’t think the reason Fox stayed on Lost was because he wasn’t in big demand elsewhere. Without the show he wouldn’t have got the worldwide recognition and love from fans. Whether or not he was in demand whilst Lost was going on, he’d still have stayed on the show (and not just because his contract ties him to it!:P).

Many TV actors have tried this .. few have succeeded. Even less after (stupidly) publicly stating they were done with tv. My prediction: In 5 years he’ll be beggin for a guest appearance and a “Friends’” type tv show.

This seems sorta like “tough talk” to me.
Sure, it’s easy to SAY that he’ll say goodbye to TV, but since Lost started it’s not like Hollywood’s been clamouring for him.
The mere fact that he’s stayed on Lost this long means that he’s not in any great demand in bigger circles.
Sounds like he needs to hedge his bets…..

For some reason I’d love to see Fox take on the character of Matt Murdock/Daredevil if they ever get around to a rebooted Daredevil movie.
