Tessa Thompson picks her Marvel Cinematic Universe character Valkyrie to win in a fight against Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger. Debuting in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, Valkyrie is among the great additions to the MCU from the Taika Waititi-directed movie alongside Korg, Miek and the Grandmaster. While her current whereabouts are still unknown following her absence in Avengers: Infinity War, chances are she'll be back on screen come Avengers 4 after the actress was spotted with Chris Hemsworth going back and forth to Atlanta for the movie's reshoots a couple of months ago.

While Valkyrie's adventure in the MCU seems to be just getting started, the journey of Jordan's Killmonger has already come to an end following his death in Ryan Coogler's Black Panther. Playing the main antagonist of the critically acclaimed Marvel film, the character is lauded as one of the best comic book movie villains, and he was able to do that in just one film. Despite their very different story arcs - not to mention adventure settings (Killmonger was Earthbound while Valkyrie is cosmic-based) - their similar military backgrounds make it fun to imagine what it would be like to see them in a one-on-one fight.

Sitting down with IGN to promote Creed II, the two were tasked with interviewing each other, and Jordan asked Thompson who between Valkyrie and Killmonger would win in a fight. Before Jordan even finished the question, Thompson picked her character with no hesitation. Jordan double checked if his co-star "even wanna think about it," but Thompson was very confident with her answer, refusing to even reconsider. What makes this back-and-forth more interesting is the fact that the actress was dead serious the whole time, proving just how much she believes in her character who has, since her debut, quickly become a symbol of female power in the MCU.

Thompson's confidence isn't unfounded. As revealed in Ragnarok, Valkyrie is part of Odin's elite force that battled Hela, the Goddess of Death. And while they suffered major losses, she's one of the surviving members of the group. The only reason she ended up on Sakaar was she intentionally walked away from her Asgardian post due to guilt over the death of her close comrades. Valkyrie literally fights demi-gods and if the likes of Thor and Loki are in awe of her, it goes without saying that she can easily beat Killmonger.

Of course, given their very different fates in the MCU, there's a very slim chance that Valkyrie and Killmonger will cross paths, let along engage in a fight. That said, both can easily be the center of a Marvel Studios TV spin-off over at Disney+. Valkyrie's limited series could revolve around her adventures as an Asgardian operative, meanwhile, Killmonger's could tackle his time in the military as he devises his plan on how to infiltrate Wakanda. Fans would have to wait if either of the two actors were to eventually star in their own project, but in the meantime, the public can catch them as a loving couple in Creed II.
