Hulk: Agents of S.M.A.S.H.

Next, Jeph Loeb talked about Hulk: Agents of S.M.A.S.H., which is also being written by Paul Dini in the vein of the grand superheroics of yesteryear, as created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The cast of characters include Hulk, Red Hulk, Skaar (Hulk’s half-alien son), A-Bomb (Rick Jones with super irradiated powers), and She-Hulk. The show will hit Disney XD in 2013.

And last, but not least, Jeph Loeb premiered the first episode of The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes season 2, which saw the Fantastic Four and the Avengers teaming up to fight Doctor Doom and his multitude of Doombots.

The episode was action-packed, fun, and occasionally funny (Hulk repeatedly picks fights with The Thing and likes to make fun of the guy for never having won), and there was even a twist ending (SPOILER ALERT!):

Susan Storm (A.K.A. The Invisible Woman) was revealed to actually be a Skrull by Doctor Doom. Is it a coincidence that Skrulls are A) featuring prominently in the cartoon based on the Marvel movies, and B) rumored to be the villains of Joss Whedon’s The Avengers? We’ll leave that up to you to decide…

  1. Del Toro has been busy with other projects like Pacific Rim and what about David Eick he’s in on it too and he is doing the Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome TV series.

  2. They’re taking all the Marvel TV show slow to get them right, Loeb’s answer in a update is always the same “we’re in development” they said they were going for the 2012-13 season but now the pilot season has ended they may say next year but then the next and the next.

  3. Kevin Feige said just recently there are no plans for another solo Hulk movie so that probably means we’re getting Hulk TV in the next couple or few years with another Bruce Banner and Betty Ross.

  4. Simplify the Hulk effects maybe the only solution because making a TV series is not the same as making a movie because of time and budget constraints. A green muscle suit would be Del Toro’s alley because he likes practial and make up effects, would be like Hellboy were they put Ron Perlman in a red muscle suit and make up, there was a Hulk suit in the alternate ending of Scary Movie 3 but that was a comedic representation of the character, a hulk suit would be like the Hellboy make up or the Doomsday Smallville make up. Would be interesting if they go that route have Banner and the Hulk be played by the same actor.

  5. There was no anouncement back in January that it was greenlit so they might greenlght it next January which is the time of the year were pilots and TV shows get greenlit.

Because of the success of The Avengers they hope now to have a another solo Hulk movie by 2015.

Updates are not predictions things are liable to change.

  6. I just heard that it maybe in develpment for 2013-14 season but Jessica Jones is stalled.

  7. At least ABC still wants to do it. Paul Lee did say if they can’t do it sell it to another network like Fox, NBC, CBS.

But there are some factors on will they be able to do at the same time of the Avengers 2 and the proposed Hulk movie with Mark Ruffalo or be able to do it on a TV budget.

And we won’t get The Punisher show which just in name only and was going to be a typical cop show, Frank Castle was a cop by day, a vigilante by night and why they want to do a Punisher TV series when they want to change the basics? why don’t they come up with their own stories, why bother making it when you wanna change everything?.

  8. Think with Del Toro involved he’ll make it more of a monster oriented series?

  9. It seems that the masses liked the original and Avengers Hulk more because he didn’t have his supporting cast and villains, maybe they would like the new series without them, just Banner and Hulk alone.
