Marvel has long been one of the more prominent figures in the entertainment world. Starting off with comics in 1939, they have since turned those characters into movies, television series, and video games. Marvel Studios gets most of the attention thanks to the formation and continuation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a franchise that has so far seen 14 movies released since 2008. The television department has also grown rapidly over the years with shows on ABC and Netflix, but also continuing to produce animated shows on Disney XD.
They are also looking at become more prominent in the video game market with a Guardians of the Galaxy Telltale game and a Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite game on the way this year, so there is no shortage of surprises that could come the way of Marvel fans. Well, it looks like Marvel is going to make a major announcement tomorrow based on their latest tease.
Marvel as a company does not typically tease fans of impending announcements, but instead drops them at their will to make the announcements more of a surprise. Earlier today, Marvel shared a cryptic message on Twitter telling fans to mark their calendars for a big announcement that will be shared tomorrow, January 26th, at 10 a.m. EST.

Marvel’s tweet gives very little information to go on and used the Marvel corporate logo instead of a variation for Marvel Studios or another division. Usually Marvel’s teases in the past have all resulted in comic related reveals, so this very well could be them announcing a new event series coming up (although the ramifications of Civil War II are still being dealt with). While most will instantly think that a tease of this magnitude is related to the movies, that may not be the case thanks to an accompanying tease from Square Enix:
Marvel and Square Enix do not have a previous working relationship, but the Mouse House does. With both teases coming at precisely 10 a.m. this morning, it could be an announcement regarding Marvel characters appearing in Kingdom Hearts 3, similar to how other Disney characters have done so in previous games. Then again, it could be a completely new game as well that could see Marvel further expand their brand on gaming platforms.
This could be disappointing for some who initially saw the announcement and immediately began to wonder if Marvel regained the rights to the Fantastic Four or were planning to announce their Phase 4 slate, but teasing fans like this is not how Marvel Studios has operated in the past. Hopefully whatever announcement that is made tomorrow can live up to expectations that have now been placed upon it.
Stay tuned to Screen Rant tomorrow for updates on the announcement.
