Marvel’s ‘Agent Carter’ Clip: Peggy Carter Leaps Into Action

Published 2 years ago by

Losing Steve Rogers may have been a blow for S.S.R. Agent Peggy Carter, but obviously her story didn’t just end after Captain America: The First Avenger. Continuing the popular tradition of releasing one-shot shorts about supporting characters, Marvel Studios is bolstering the Blu-ray release of Iron Man 3 with Agent Carter, the fourth one-shot in the series and the first to be based on the Captain America franchise, and Hayley Atwell is very much the star of this particular story.

Previous shorts include the two Agent Coulson adventures, “The Consultant” and “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer,” and the post-Avengers bank heist tale “Item 47.” The one-shots are a fun way to flesh out the universe and to give insight into what characters get up to when the main heroes aren’t hogging the spotlight.

“Agent Carter” was screened at San Diego Comic-Con 2013, but if you were unable to make it to the convention then a clip from the film has made its way online ahead of the Iron Man 3 DVD and Blu-ray release. In the scene above, Carter finds herself in the office of her chauvinistic boss, Agent Flynn (Bradley Whitford), and intercepts a call regarding the mysterious ‘Zodiac’. Thrilled at the opportunity to get away from her dull desk job and into the fray of a mission, Carter heads out to investigate alone, which means taking on a couple of unsuspecting thugs.

Steve Rogers may now be firmly planted in modern times, but casting news and set photos have shown that a reunion with Peggy Carter isn’t off the table for him. In addition to getting her own one-shot Carter will also make an appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, though unfortunately she’s probably not going to be getting into many fist fights in that movie. Dominic Cooper has also mentioned shooting additional scenes as Howard Stark, and it’s now fairly safe to assume that he was referring to his role in “Agent Carter” rather than a Captain America: The Winter Soldier cameo.

Are you happy to see Peggy Carter back in action, and has the “Agent Carter” clip persuaded you to pick up Iron Man 3 when it’s released on home video?

Agent Carter will be released as an extra on the Blu-ray edition of Iron Man 3 on September 24, 2013.

Thor: The Dark World is out in theaters on November 8, 2013, Captain America: The Winter Soldier on April 4, 2014, Guardians of the Galaxy on August 1, 2014, The Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015, Ant-Man on November 6, 2015, and unannounced films for May 6 2016, July 8 2016 and May 5 2017.

  1. Her beating them up and the shot of the guy not noticing inside was really…predictable.

    • It was very Stan-Lee-in-The-Amazing-Spider-Man.

  2. Would this clip convince people to pick up IM3 on blu ray?

Well, my answer is no because I don’t buy blu ray anyway but I imagine anyone who does should pick it up purely because it’s IM3 and that film was great so this should just be a side order, surely?

  3. Looks like this might be the best short yet!

  4. She’s my favorite woman in a comic book movie, maybe ever. Imagine if SHE was Rachel Dawes in Batman, whew! What a beautiful being.

  5. This is nowhere near enticing enough for me to buy the worst movie in the MCU I’ll red box it

  6. There might be some point in having this on Caps Bluray, no ? I understand they want to push something in throats of the people. But this won’t work. There are some people that just liked Iron man, so thats what they watch. Some random lady figthing with some guys in retro won’t bring anything to them. Is it me or there IS the possibility that such people didn’t watch Cap’s movie or remember this character ?

  7. I like Hayley Atwell. I think she’s a good actress. Many of my favorite moments from CA 1 is when Hayley is on screen.

It’s too bad she’s stuck in the past……. Somebody in the MCU needs to invent a time machine and bring her forward to the present day. But only after Cap has a new love interest. That’s the most dramatic and heart wrenching way to do it.

  8. She’s so beautiful!

    • Here’s a spoiler: she wants me (spoils all the other guys’ dreams, anyways!)>

  9. Rather would’ve had Dom Cooper in Cap2 because of his involvement in Rogers life/the information on the Tessarract could still be on the table. Cameo of his in CA:TWS would also make it so that the Starks are still in the picture, per-say. :/

But his cameo in Agent Carter is welcomed as well.
Him as Howard Stark, too good.

  10. God that was hot lol :)

  11. She really is one hot, rear-kicking babe!

  12. She is beautiful!

  13. I think would be great to do some movie spin off of her maybe not big screen an T.V. movie or series with some retro heroes would be cool and show how shield started. but might confuse people but would love to see some thing with this character done, as a strong female lead in a t.v. action drama would be great.

    • Agree totally with Dwayne, this has got potential for a spin off series or movies.

  14. Just saw the second part of “Restless” with Hayley Atwell playing a spy in WW2.

    Well worth the watch!

Makes me hope that an Agent Carter series happens!
