The Marvel television series follows David Haller as he slowly understands that he is a mutant with superpowers and finds others that are like him. Dan Stevens stars in Legion as Haller in the increasingly crazy FX show that recently ended in 2019 with its third season.

Although David Haller is the main focus, there are numerous other weird and interesting characters he interacts with including his on again off again girlfriend Syd who is also a mutant, his enemy Amahl Farouk who is just as powerful as he is, and his friend Lenny who pops up throughout the series along with various other unique and well-developed characters.

When looking back at Legion, fans may want to remember which episodes were the best. Now, they can look no further as audiences have responded.

Chapter 24 - 8.8

David shows his true power in this episode as Legion as he tries to seek out his old friends and is specifically looking for the time traveler, Switch, who Cary stole from him. David needs a time traveler to achieve his goal of changing his past so he does everything he can to get her back on his side. Amahl Farouk decides to go against the group and reach out to David while they're trying to evade him.

Chapter 26 - 8.8

David enacts one part of his plan to travel back in time and kill Amahl Farouk before he can infect his father Charles Xavier and him as a child. Syd meets David's mother when David is still a baby and tries to explain what is happening and what David's plan is. The Time Demons are sent to stop everyone from manipulating the timeline.

Chapter 27 - 8.8

The finale of the series sees David and his father Xavier finally meet long enough to come up with a plan to defeat the Shadow King. The two begin to fight Farouk at two different parts of the timeline and there are surprising results.

Sydney, Cary, and Kerry face off against the Time Demons with David's mother at the Xavier residence. Switch learns more about her time-traveling powers and her backstory and the group figures out if David plan works or not.

Chapter 1 - 8.9

The pilot introduces David Haller and shows his life in a psychiatric hospital where he is staying after struggling off and on with his schizophrenia. He and his friend Lenny (Aubrey Plaza) joke around all day at the hospital, but then everything changes when new patient Syd begins to stay at the hospital. Syd has a phobia of being touched, but David and she begin a relationship. David begins to wonder if the things he sees and hears are due to his mental illness or something else entirely.

Chapter 14 - 8.9

After hearing about his beloved sister being taken by the Shadow King, David wonders if he's in the best timeline for himself and those he loves. David's mind allows him to explore different realities where he has made different choices so he tries to find a better reality for himself. The episode shows David with several different future lives for himself including being homeless, a father with a normal job, and a powerful mutant ruler.

Chapter 5 - 9.1

David learns more about his powers and is able to create an alternate place for him and Syd to be together where they can touch without her mutant powers being activated. It becomes clearer and clearer that David isn't alone and a creature is attached to him. David decides he's strong and confident enough in his abilities to find his sister and begins a lone rescue mission, but Melanie and the others from Summerland tag along to help him save his sister.

Chapter 19 - 9.2

David faces off against the Shadow King with the help of the elusive and deadly Lenny. The season two finale is a fantastically visual episode with a stellar soundtrack including David and Farouk singing a rendition of "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who. The episode builds up to their epic battle and the two super mutants facing off doesn't disappoint.

Chapter 20 - 9.2

The first episode of the third season sees the aftermath of season two for all of the characters. Lenny is still supporting David and the group has left David to his own devices hoping that he doesn't come after them.

David gains a following as a leader of a cult with Lenny by his side and is intrigued by a time-traveler he meets. David befriends the time-traveler Switch and begins to put together a plan to go back in his own timeline and clean it up.

Chapter 23 - 9.2

As David begins to travel in time with Switch as his guide David and his old friends start to feel the effects of their time-traveling ways. The Time Demons are introduced as the protectors of the timeline and sent to stop David and his followers from meddling in the timeline. The trippy episode jumps back and forth as the Time Demons manipulate and create time loops to try to stop them.

Chapter 7 - 9.4

Jemaine Clement as Oliver and Bill Irwin as Cary in Legion Chapter 7

David travels to the astral plane and interacts with another version of himself, a British version, and the two brainstorm about how to defeat the Shadow King that has attached itself to David since he was a baby. He also meets with Oliver (Jemaine Clement), Melanie's wife who has been stuck in the astral plane for years. The group and David try to suppress the Shadow King and try to save Oliver.
